I just now figured out why this was happening. You have to click on the individual messages in the pop up to have them go away. I had always just gone straight to my inbox, read, and then deleted. This does not clear out the pop up. Just click your messages in the pop up. Hope this clears any confusion.

I have the same problem. I've read and deleted but they still pop up for me.

I'm 42 and I too have tried to explain to my kids how good they have it. I remember the best times of my life were when we actually stayed outside all day long knocking on all of our friends doors seeing who we could gather up for backyard football or baseball. We only watched TV when our favorite show came on during it's slotted time and only had three channels to choose from. I love todays technology but I wish it hadn't taken over some of the more simpler and meaningful things in our lives.

I just don't understand what all the sour feelings have been here in the XI family lately ! Maybe I haven't been here long enough or just haven't been in the right rooms (freeze tag), (world at war). I joined for the fun and the chat. I know there has been whining going on, but shit, we're all adults ! right ? These are just games and I feel nothing should ever be taken serious here. It's meant to be fun. Is the fun gone ? Is that why people are leaving ? I have my good days and my bad days. I take a break when I'm not having fun. I was playing COD2 when catgut announced he was leaving. He said he was tired of the bullshit, uninstalling his COD2, breaking the disc and throwing it away. I didn't understand then and I don't understand now. How is removing your tags but continuing to play make a difference ? Is the tag an embarrassment ? I hate to see anyone get that upset that they feel they have to leave. This clan should be fun and not so serious. If I have offended anyone I'm very sorry, just trying to make sense of all this.

Hello Everyone, I don't know if this subject has ever been posted here but I thought I would give it a shot. Have you ever wondered what the meaning or reason behind a particular players screen name was? Some of the names make sense if you know the person but others are so outrageous you have to ask why. I thought I would go ahead and start with my screen name "SgtSmellyFinger" You're probably thinking.....oh, this guy has a hygeine problem or he puts his finger somewhere he shouldn't...LOL !! Actually, none of that is true. I picked the name because I thought it would be funny and outrageous and it would have people guessing. I have a sick sense of humor and I enjoy making people laugh. I can't help but laugh at people who easily get offended by things like this. Just my sick sense of humor !! LOL !! I guess I am truly an Idiot ! Many, many years ago I had a co-worker who was always uptight. Just to annoy her I would always go up to her a sniff my fingers. LOL !! That always made my day !! Anyway......anyone who would like to share their story I would enjoy reading about it. SgtSmellyFinger>XI<

Just a quick note. My gaming computer took a major nose dive and that's why I haven't been in the killing fields lately. I suspect a new hard drive will fix the issue but
