Speaking of autobalancer I was trying to get the server going on saturday , and it was 3 on 3 and then the autobalancer switched it to make it 5 vs 1, and disabled being able to switch, I had to get a EU admin to balance it.

Yea I have tested the battery and alternator mutliple times, both on and off. I think you are right. I'm pretty sure it is a wire causing a short. I noticed some damage to the wiring harness on the battery. The sheathing was missing and someone just put electrical tape over it. I bet there is further damage. It does has a PC module, which told me the heater was malfunctioning. I wonder if that may have something to do with the electrical issues also. Do you know if I can test with a regular multimeter?

My Element keeps draining batteries in about a month. I've checked the alternator and its good. I'm pretty sure its a short causing it, but I have no idea how to even begin checking that. or if anyone has any other ideas?

That is one of the shitty things about cable.. If a lot of people in your area have it/use it they will slow down your connection even if you subscribe to a faster plan. kinda shitty. Also to hit on Bill's point if you don't have docsis 3 modem, get one. If you have time warner and go to the customer service center and tell them you want one they might upgrade you for free. They did for me no hassle, but wouldn't over the phone.

how about do that, and then run that program again that odd recommended and see if it still has the same issue. that way we can at least take one piece of network hardware out of the equation.

Try temporarily bypassing your router and connecting directly from your PC to your cable modem. you may also want to post your router config file on here so we can take a look to see if there is anything in the config that may be causing that loss.
