So this little thing has been going on for a while, for just over a month I seem to be getting random fps drops in bf4, and random freezes (some lasting up to 30 seconds, the game crashes entirely if it's longer than that) so I have been riding them out, ignoring them and just playing on. Well it seems to have gotten worse, I randomly freeze and lag a lot more often, and this is happening on all servers. Low population, even test range. One thing I did when it all started was drop my video settings to low and 720p, I would expect atleast 80fps consistent there, but noo. (AMD phenom II X4 965 @3.41, GTX 750 TI super clocked, and 24 gb of ram) so tonight when I went to play some OP locker (been doing it that too much) I was fine for a while, still lagging and stuff but playable. Then about 15 minutes before this post I all of a sudden had less than 5 fps, the sound was also playing as such, it was like a scratched disk. I looked at Amd overdrive and my cpu was at 100% 80c (never does that). So I naturally closed the game and let it cool for a bit, I only have a few idea's of what could be causing it but I have my doubts. 1: virus?? My younger sibling is a complete idiot when it comes to downloading online, no matter what I tell him to do he will do it anyways and fill his profile with adware so I always delete everything that shouldn't be there, close all processes that aren't windows or my game. (He says he hasn't downloaded anything recently yet new crap is always appearing, I'm wondering If he lies or there is some virus installing this crap over and over). 2: drivers? Would my nvidia drivers have anything to do with this, I highly doubt it but idk for sure. 3: game patch? Anyone else having similar lag but less dramatic? 4:my internet? So my father is picky, we have a timer that blocks the computer at particular times (because I have younger siblings). I notice it has issues, it's crappy and the isp is blocking things like pornogrophy. We also have a new router, idk if any of this affects frame rate, but my internet is sketchy, it seems to randomly disconnect. So this is all I know, I come here for your guy's thoughts, and if it happens to be the pc being the issue (it never had these problems a while ago) I am building a new one soon (I'll make a post about that because I have a few thoughts I want to run past) if anyone can think of anything feel free to say something, in the meantime I will be digging around my hard drive for bad programs.
