I think it means your firewall or some other security software is not allowing the game exe to execute. Make sure your game is on the trusted list and is allowed through the firewall.

Hey Bloodyribeye, I recently had that problem. It turned out that my User Account Control level was set to highest level and thus blocked me and sent up that error message. That may not be the same situation but check it out: Control Panel/System and Security/Action Center/ User Account Control (select level- mine is on lowest)

Hi Harry, The following is the opinion of some MicroSoft Certified something or other, but I think he may have something... "Unhandled Exception Problems are caused by misconfigured system files. So, from my experience, If you got Unhandled Exception Problems then there is a 96% chance that your computer has registry problems." Scott Chan, Micro Soft Certified Professional. I used to have this problem but I regularly use a program called CCleaner http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner Once you install it look on the left margin for Cleaner. Click Anaylize on the bottom, wait til it is done, then click Run Cleaner ... This is very important!!!! On the left again the next icon down is Registry, click that, then click Scan for issues... This program is Free and does a nice job of cleaning up after all your nasty lil downloads...LoL I also use a program called Tune up Utilities http://www.tune-up.com/download/. I started with the free download but soon paid for the full version. Now the only time I see that pesky exception message is when I do not regularly clean my registry and run the one step maintenance on Utilities. Hope this helps Harry. Make a mental note of how many MBs of crap CCleaner takes off your system and how many registry errors it finds.....

Finally got he maps from the downloader for the ace mod, thanks for the help. Solved the problem with my HLSW and now can access COD 4 servers .

ph4nt0m Ok, the downloader has been updated for the Ace Mod, let me know if you have problems with it. Thanks very much ph4nt0m. There were several new files to download. Feeling good about that I tried to join the game on cod 4 ace mod and immediately began downloading matmata, which started out at 237/kbs but once I got 20 % it started over at 12/kbs. This is very frustrating. Regarding the HLSW problem, I was using 1.3.3.8b so I uninstalled that and downloaded 1.3.3.7.b, ran ccleaner and tuneup utilities and then reinstalled HLSW. Must have forgot to delete something becuase all the servers were still there and all the COD 4 servers can not be accessed becuase it says I have to put the correct game directory in Settings. The correct game directory is in settings. This also is very Frustrating....

Hello, Having trouble with the XI downloader and HLSW. Help Please...... When XI downloader opens I go to edit and options and make sure only cod 4 ace mod is ticked. then ask it for new files search. It says there are no new files to download. When I try to join a game it goes into a download which at first is fast, then 1/3 of the way thru, it starts over and the speed is 10/12 kbs. Before I found you guys I had six COD 4 servers on my HLSW and all worked very well. However, since I used the HLSW add button on the XI sever list none of the old ones work and the XI servers which I added via that button do not work... ERROR Can't execute 'iw3mp.exe'! You must set the right game directory in settings. C:\Program files (x86)\Activsion\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare is what is listed. I have even selected browse and put the game directory in thru the settings.... Windows 7.. 64 bit... Any help would be much appreciated,,, Thanks John

Merlin007 Hi John, Scroll down the left side of the forum page to the Xtreme Idiots Downloader. Download this program and install. This is a slick utility for downloading maps that are currently running in rotation on the servers. In the program, go to 'Edit' and the 'Options'. Here you can select the servers you want to download the maps for ahead of time so you don't have to download during game time. Program pretty straight forward, just go through the options area but post back if you have any issues. Enjoy. Thank you very much. That is a great bit of software, and it started off pretty good, but now I am getting no where. When I open downloader and click check for new files it checks and checks and then I get this meeage [MySqlError] A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond (ExecuteSelectStringCommand). Then when I click start downloads the top five maps have numbers and the state says prepared or waiting for rec and my windows task bar reports that those maps have finished downloading but 0 percentage has downloaded. What have I done now???? Thanks in advance for your help, John

I am new to the server and already have problems.... I hate to bother you good people but could I get some help? From the web site I clicked on the hlsw button to add the COD 4 Ace Mod 69.9.170.52:28960. It did add the site to my hlsw but when I tried to join got this error message... "Can't execute iw3mp.exe! You must set the right game directory in setting." Any instructions to resolve this would be much appreciated. Thanks guys & gals, John

Hi Guys, Trying to play on the COD 4 ACE MOD. The download speed has been about 12KB/second and a 40 MB map takes about 45 minutes. This makes it nearly impossible to download before the map rotates. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks John

Hello XI, Recently found your COD 5 Modern Weapons Mod server and have thoroughly enjoyed playing there. The selection of maps is surprizingly large and very good. Great work folks. I am an old grouchy shooter who has either grown tired of sniping or who can not find a good sniper server. The COD 5 world seems to be shrinking away guaged by the shrinking number of sniper servers. Glad to have found you Run and Gunners, I am no good but do enjoy the game and have noticed some interesting charachters. Today I found your website and just about fainted when I saw the list of servers available. What are you people....Nuts??? Please don't take that the wrong way, it is a good thing you have here and I apprediate what you are doing. It will however take me days to explore all these new servers. Very nice touch, by the way, having the HLSW add to button.... Also a bit of a mapper, have done three COD 5 maps and one COD 2 map. I make great buildings but the rest of the process like scipting and fx and such is a struggle. Plus when you get done fewer and fewer servers are around to run it. Maybe a run and gun map. So glad I found you folks and I commend you on your clan and servers. John
