Sorry, I am lost as to what happened and what games we can now play on the COD4 3rd server?

Thanks for the various inputs and attempts to help from several folks. I appreciate the input. Things seem to be back to the right settings now. So, I can carry on whiling away my time. LOL Again, thanks.

Physical disk and Win 10 Home. So what I'm reading is that the mod that WAS on the 3rd server has been moved to the 2nd server and that caused the change? But if I played on what was server 3, I should go back there and play and things will reset? I've got a backup profile that I did before moving to WIN 10. But I do not see the "MAIN" file in the hidden files in order to swap it in. What is interesting is that my profile shows the four star and next prestige ranking as if all the buildup was ok...............but the loadouts don't allow anything but the lowest ranking loadouts...................no reticle for the Thompson, no grip for the shotgun, none of the loadouts for tanks, etc.

Well, trying to follow the advice. Not very successfully. I guess I'm not looking in the right place for the hidden files advice. One admin that was on said to play the game for a few minutes and the stuff would come back..............played through three cycles and still no change. If simply playing on the server brings about a correction, I'll try it a while longer. But if I have to go through the whole thing to regain stuff, then I'll have to give it up. In the earlier CODS I knew how to replace the documents that contained the profile.........but Windows 10 and the WAW are more frustrating than I'm very interested in putting up with.

OK............I think this may be the place to post this ....or to get redirected to the right place. Been Playing COD WAW on the server for some time now. Have built up perks and load-outs on two of the main servers for it........all of a sudden this evening, I find that one still has my perks and stuff and the other has dropped everything that was built up..........right back to basic start. Wondering if this is something common? How to fix it. If it means going through the whole process again.............I'm not going to waste my time. Anyone got a clue???

There are folks who seem to be upset the shotguns with grip.................and many who do use it. I have some familiarity with shotguns..............as do many others.................but the complaint seems to be the range.............. I wonder how many players ever actually used the long range round...............with the steel ball in the center of a set of 00 bucks. It was intended to get a greater lethal distance................ If you are thinking of bird shot range on a shotgun, think again. Frankly, if "realism" is an issue.................then STOP bunny hopping all over the place. THAT is about as far from "real" as one can get,................IMHO.

Well, I think you got to the problem.............got me to think back a little more accurately. Back at that time my HD started to go kaput. The HD was replaced and I had to upload a lot of stuff. I was able to retrieve the old files for COD WAW from the failing disk.............and did a copy/paste in order to keep from having to start over. I think that is the problem................I was able to come from "zero" up to where I was when the HD went out on me................but apparently it is now stuck at that point.........not writing any new information. I'm thinking solving that may be a bigger issue than it is really worth................LOL.............it's only a game. Dang, I hate to go through all the getting killed to upgrade the shotgun. Yep, if anyone has any ideas on this ............I'm open to suggestions

No................. The saved date on the files is 7/31..............and I've certainly been playing since then. I probably was playing without realizing any problem, but about three weeks ago I tried to make a change to the perks on a class and became aware of the problem and have been chewing on the problem since then. So it would appear you are onto something...............not sure I understand how to correct that.............??? I did check and the summary of played time and scores is adding ok.

Yes, I'm referring to the custom classes. The ones that become available after earning whatever points were needed. I've never done the "prestige" classes. Yes, the perks I'm referring to are earned perks. They show up as options to select from when I'm in one of the custom class areas. For example: If I go to Custom class 1 (which I renamed once and now does not show up as #1 any longer..............but it is the first one on the list)..............if I go there and change the primary weapon from what it has been (shotgun with grip) over to the PPSH...............I'm allowed to select the PPSH as the primary weapon. And as long as I come back into the server from there, the selected PPSH is available for the period I'm in the server playing the game. Any of the changes I've attempted are selections that are "highlighted". They show up as available and will go to the right side of the page replacing whatever was there previously. BUT, if I leave the server and the game and then come back the next time I want to play..............any change is gone. At one time I could make changes to the custom classes. They have all been modified for "custom" fit. And for a while I was able to go in and make a change...................I changed primary weapon from a Thompson to MG42, etc. But now I cannot do that. In the ranks and challenges, under vehicles, one of the challenges is to drive a tank 50 miles. Originally, that was registering ...................it shows 8 miles. But it has been 8 miles for a couple weeks now and each time I've been on a game that had tanks, I've hopped in and driven..................the mileage should have changed..........but hasn't. It just now occurred to me that I have not actually looked at the overall points accumulation to see if that is changing. I'll have to check that tonight. Thanks for trying to assist.

I no longer seem to be able to make a change to the classes that will stick. For example: if I go in and change a perk from bouncing betty to satchel charge..................it will be ok as long as I am in the game on the server. Or another example: tried to change the primary weapon..................no luck. Tried to change the vehicle perk from faster turret to faster reload..............no luck But if I leave the game, the changes are lost. I dont seem to be able to take advantage of any new perks. AND my data seems not to be recording..................for example: there is a perk for driving a tank 50 miles. I drive a tank every chance I get..................but the record shows 8 out of 50 miles..............and has for some time. I know there are two places to make changes................and previously, I could go into the game play on the server, and then back out and go to the classes and make a change and it would stick...............that is, the change would be there when I came back the next night. I've tried saving as a different name. I've tried to make changes at the first level of classes also...............before going to a server. Same thing. I'm wondering if this is common? Am I doing something wrong? Anyone have this trouble before? A fix?

YES!!!! I connected to the old HD and retrieved the proper file..............and got my perks back. Just wanted to express my appreciation for the guidance/help from members on the server. Your help, vastly appreciated.

Yeah, I can see how that should work You are saying, just put it in and I'll get the "2 of same name" and just say "overwrite" ??? I was thinking about putting the retrieved file in alongside the "empty' one with an X (to keep them individually identifieable) in the name and then deleting the empty and renaming the retrieved file to take out the X thanks for the input...................gotta go tomorrow to get the USB attachment cable and get started on this. Playing without the various perks under another profile kinda sucks

Aha OK, thanks. I found it on my new hardrive and with the "temporary" profile. So now I have to get the connector and drill down the old HD. I assume that it is a matter of making a copy of the old profile for OSAGE and then deleting the current one that really has no data and swapping in the old file. Right??? LOL..........I may live to fight another day!!! Thanks for the help.

OK...............chances are that the old hard drive will work enough to allow retrieving the profile info. I'm looking on the current uploaded version where I used a different profile to play and create some data. And I'm not finding the file that would otherwise be copied.................. Beers send me a place to look, but I'm not seeing it there...............maybe missing something. Where is the file? I'm not seeing an activision cod players profiles file Thought if I could create the data on a new profile, I could get to it and then tell the folks at the place where my computer work is done where to drill to.

My contractor friend says scabbing another 2x4 onto it from top to bottom..........and securing it at the top and bottom into the cross pieces (diagonal screws or the little metal brackets)...........should do fine to keep the strength up after planning. AS LONG AS.........there isn't something else going on that is forcing that bow in the first place??? Leaking water and that sort of thing...................or an outer wall problem.

Well, crap...............I dinna know that. Kinda late now. I'm going to try to retrieve off of the old hard drive...........maybe can get to that file. Will see if that works.

I'll have to try the USB approach................ There was a lot of data saved in the transfer, but not the apps..................the old HD really went in the crapper..............as above, I was under mistaken idea that registered players info was stored on cloud. Thanks for the suggestion

No, I didn't back it up. Actually, I was under the naive belief that it was all stored in the cloud. So yeah, feeling pretty silly....................

So, my sad story: My harddrive went kaput. New, larger one installed. HOWEVER..................all my advances, perks, etc seem to be gone....................after many hours (that turned into days as recorded by the game)...........now I seem to be back to starting over after having to reload the game COD WAW. Anyone got any ideas of how to overcome this..................or am I stuck with this consequence? OSAGE................playing on the deathmatch WAW server. Dang, at my age, I'm never sure I have enough time to recoup the various perks....................any help very much appreciated.
