hey folks,

thank you all for all your help. the problem has been attributed to many smaller issues , but the main issue was how and what way compatibility mode was used. finally i was able to get the iw3mp.exe to stop crashing by setting the shortcut up to load the game as an admin. and to use windows vista sp2 mode. after that the game loaded without crashing.

since then i have been trying to work out conn. speeds and to get my either net card to behave properly. the game is now running and at between 110 to 125 fps and a 70 ping. my intermittant ci problem was a coaxial cable that had loosened up during the computer setup and moving things around. downloads are still slow but will be workedout as i go.

i have a mic plugged in, and i have onboard realtec sound card. now why would crysis warhead have the same problem??? its trying to load in safe mode as it seems to think it needs to. its driving me crazy.

i have tried to run in every compatability mode they have even running as an admin. i have all windows security features turned off as that is one of the first things i do after i install. i hate the microsoft paranoia, i turn off all their stuff. i have aftermarket features running.. now here is the killer., the single player version of cod4 will play like gangbusters. the MP version starts but in the middle of startup i get a flag saying it stopped running. i tried to load crysis warhead and it is a sp version and it does the same thing. is there some other windows security feature that is hidden that might be causing this ?

i just finishes my new machine (64 bit) win 7 and every time i fire up COD4 multiplayer the iw3mp.exe crashes. help !

hey again,

i will look in to Dropbox again for that feature as i still have an account with them. on the other hand the winzip courier really looks like it takes your base mail program and lets it operate like outlook express used to work. BTW outlook suspended using the feature that allows it to break up large files you mail after outlook 2003 and later versions. microsoft just can't stand it unless they can fuck up a great program they made. i really wish they kept O.E. with their os.

yes i remember word 2.0, it was the best word ever produced (its too bad microsoft will not stick with their original formats for their programs) and wiz i still have my account for dropbox but as i remember it was extereamly complicated to use. if i use that service i have to make all my contacts to get an account with dropbox for them to download the files i share with them (they don't want to do that). what i am looking for is a service that i can simple upload my file to and send my contact a link and all they have to do in click the link and download the file. which services provide that option ???

well i just made some improvements to my current machine having installed (4) 1gb sticks of ram and installing windows 7 to it. much to my dismay i find a number of troubles with the new os. one of which is that win 7 no longer provides outlook express (which i miss terrably) so after i looked for a week for a sutable replacement for o.e. i found Dreammail (fantastic program.) but as most mail programs they will not breakup large mail files with attachments as outlook express did. current limitations are files exceeding 25mb will not be mailed by Comcast. now this problem was never a problem when i used o.e. because it would automatically breakup files larger than this global limitation imposed by comcast. so i guess i will have to do as many of you do and upload my large files to a file transfer service. now the big question is who provides these kinds of services ???? so i need some suggestions as who may be the best for this application.

i have other issues that i will add to this post at a later time. any help will be appreciated.

i have confirmed that the XI server is forcing the glow setting in your config file to be rewriten and thus changing it from what you would want to what they want. the glow setting is in our realm of choices and should not be forced on us one way or the other. with them forcing the glow to be on that it ruins the graphics and washes all the color out of the maps and it ruins the function of night vision on nightime maps, and in that case makes all tags to turn into a brilliant glow that blinds you from seeing. please fix this unfortunate oversight and bad setting back to what we want it to be (on or off at our individual choice)

hey folks,

i don't know about you but this setting perpetually turning itself on is a pain in the ass. so here is how.

go to profile and find .cfg file. search file for "seta r_glow_allowed "1"" and change the value 1 to zero (0) save file and play game

now there is one problem. sammy might have the server medaling with our config file and forcing the glow to be on

that needs to be fixed !!!!!!

hey sammy,

i know you work very hard on these servers and you do a very good job at keeping them running, but the chicago server is a mess at present. everybody has complaint about the weapons deletions as you have . most want the acr bushmaster , i want my saw back and others want a varity of others as well. please restore the weapons menu as it was and just add a few weapons as well. another problem is that it is kicking you with file sum errors. its evident that you have your work cut out for you.

please give back the m249 saw as it is my primary weapon i use (there is no reason why we can't have it when you added that aug. just have an additional weapon) as for the new beta it seems to run smooth with few errors so far, but time will tell more. so with an exception (the 249) the site seems to be good overall. please give back my beloved saw.

i really hate being redirected to another server if you all have to make room !! i would prefer to just politely booted with a reason. the reason being is that 9 times out of 10 the other server will be empty and it wasts my time in having to d-load maps et'c. for a server that i am not going to stay on to begin with. so please just boot us so we can promptly get on with findind a server of our choice to play on while waiting for a free slot on your server.

game copy world has it and in legitimate form. it does however come in a 7-zip format. i had to download a program to be able to extract it. btw the program is called 7-zip.exe . now i have another problem, when i run the program it says my .dll foles are not compatable with it. what to do?? i don't know.

i have lately been trying to get on the xi server for crysis wars and i can't. i think its because i don't have dx10 installed. what puzzles me is i used to be able to get in with the dx version that came with my games. so what is up ? where can i get an official dx10 file that is original microsoft. all the ones i find are some offbeat version and not ms.

i assumed you had a pc, this most recent update from pb really attacked the mac's but there is a fix available for the mac's. i wish you well on your finding a fix, there are number of posts on fixing the mac's in this forum.

looks like here we go again. did you use the pbsetup.exe yet ? try that first. i guess after that go to the cod4 section and fill out a trouble ticket and see what evenbalance comes up with. i think you will wind up with the same retoric they gave me and many others. they just don't want to admit they fucked up ! if it gets to that try defraging your system then reinstall cod4. its a lot of trouble i know but it may save you having to reload your system like i had to do. this last update pb came up with has really hurt a lot of people.
