Since running with one 460 gave me damned good performance, I said to hell with it and left SLI disabled. Then for shits and grins I googled the issue again today to see if anyone had found a solution - and someone did. He said the wire harness which exited the power supply directly under the bottom card was so crammed under that huge ass GPU that some of the wires were hitting the fan, stopping it and causing it to overheat in SLI. Couple of other posters to this thread said moving the wires solved their same problem. I couldn't believe it could be that simple, or, that Alienware would have such a ridiculous design flaw. But that's exactly what it was. Unfucking believeable. Awards
