Up for grabs is a 2008 Gibson Explorer Robot.  Everything functions properly and the guitar is in excellent shape.  If not for being played a few times and one blemish, I would rate it like new.  It was purchased by the original owner, played a few times and put away.  They never learned to play.  I purchased it as an investment and its now being offered for sale.  Includes the build sheet, manual and warranty card.  The case this thing comes in is huge and very plush.  For those not familiar with the "Gibson Robot Series", they tune themselves.  These had a "MSRP" of $3749 !!!  It's yours for the price of $1499 + $50 shipping, lower 48 states only !!!!  The pictures viewable by the individual links are quite large (you can zoom in) and show a few white dust specs :)  but they are the actual guitar and show the only spot that keeps this from being "like new".  The blemish is on the lower edge by the "Robot Tuner" knob.  Looks like a factory "clear coat" blemish.  Very hard to spot when actually looking at the guitar.  This guitar has been checked and is still in the specs set at the factory and shown on the "build sheet".  You don't see many of these Explorers come up for sale !!!!  Here is more info from Gibson's site.

Gibson’s futuristic Explorer was a guitar truly ahead of its time in 1958—a result of the forward-thinking genius of legendary Gibson President Ted McCarty. In the same manner, Gibson’s pioneering launch of the world’s first self-tuning guitar last year proved to be the single most significant and talked-about advancement in electric guitar technology in decades. Now, the best of two worlds collide with the introduction of the new Robot X-plorer from Gibson USA, which takes the classic styling and superior tone of a lf.jpgGibson masterpiece and adds the technological brilliance of the Gibson Robot Tuning System to bring you one of the most practical and striking guitars ever in Gibson’s storied line of stringed instruments.
Gibson’s revolutionary Robot X-plorer is unique in many ways, but the “robot-like” Robot Tuners™ that grace the headstock are extraordinary. Pull out the Robot X-plorer’s Multi-Control Knob (MCK) and watch the Robot Tuners™ spring into action. It takes only a few seconds for the Robot Tuners™ to tune the Robot X-plorer to any desired tuning. Each tuning peg is equipped with a tiny, but powerful, servo motor that kicks into action once the system is activated. The Robot Tuners™ rely on the strings themselves to send the signals, eliminating any potential for interference. Made of lightweight metal with a satin nickel finish, the Robot Tuners™ weigh only 46.5 grams each. A standard Gotoh tuner weighs in at 49 grams. That means a set of Robot Tuners™ weigh a full 15 grams less than a set of Gotoh tuners, which is another indicator of the Robot X-plorer’s true innovation.
