DorkNRok Posted September 11, 2013 Member ID: 3282 Group: ***- Inactive Clan Members Followers: 4 Topic Count: 26 Topics Per Day: 0.01 Content Count: 350 Content Per Day: 0.07 Reputation: 139 Achievement Points: 2327 Solved Content: 0 Days Won: 0 Joined: 03/10/12 Status: Offline Last Seen: January 16, 2024 Birthday: 08/18/1983 Posted September 11, 2013 Just finished my new rig (unfortunately wont be home from deployment for until beginning of November to test it out) Specs: Thermaltake Chaser A31 Gaming Case - Blue Intel i5 3570K @ 3.4 GHz w/ liquid cooling Gigabyte GA-Z77-HD3 MOBO 8 GB RipjawsX DDR3 1866 RAM EVGA GeForce GTX 760 Superclocked 600w PSU 1TB HD (although I am going to pick up a SSD for the OS once I get home) Now the question I have is the DDR3 1866 RAM was a free upgrade from 1600, but all the research I have done (after the fact unfortunately) says the GB MOBO is only rated up to 1600...so from what I can tell I am going to have to scrap the upgraded RAM for some slower sticks or scrap the MOBO for one that is rated up to 1866. Inputs on this conundrum...my PC skills are no where near most of you. Awards

Even if they won't run at 1866, the sticks will just run at 1600. You can set them to do so yourself, just check and set the frequency in the bios. I've read that this motherboard supports up to 2800 OC'ed though. I don't think you will have a problem.
