  1. You could also try changing the oil and filter, and use 10w40 conventional (mineral) oil. The 5w30 stuff is for extended fuel mileage, less drag on the pump, but doesn't hold up that well with 190 degree coolant temps. Does it tap when cold or just when warmed up?
  2. Nice Winchester, is that the original stock? It looks great! I refinished my M1 when I got it in '91, the stock was pretty rough, and the op rod was protruding from the box the Army put it in when they shipped it, and that was really scratched up, but serviceable. I bedded and sealed the stock, floated the hand guards and gas cylinder, did a trigger job, and installed NM rear sight app, and front globe , my eyes ain't what they used to be. It shoots very well with 168 Sierras, 47.5 gr. 4064
  3. And my '49 Mossberg M144. It was my Uncle's rifle, and he wasn't allowed to bring it to Australia when he moved there. I guess they thought a bolt action .22 was way to dangerous for a former Marine to possess in their former penal colony... I remember going over Grandma's house and seeing that rifle hanging up on the wall, and wondering if I would ever get to shoot it some day. Well I can tell you it has killed many a woodchuck and wild turkey since I inherited it, and came in second place (I know, first loser) in the first 200 yard .22 match at my club's range.
  4. I had a glass nose on a '61 Falcon back in the day, and the Crane Z300 cam rattled the hell out of it. I got some door weather strip. some 3M weather strip adhesive, and ran it all around the cowl area. It tightened her up pretty good. JC Whitney used to sell all different types of weather strip , and listed it by uncompressed size,so you kinda had to figure what the compressed size would be. Don't know if they are still in business .
  5. That GSG 1911 looks really tricked out. You got me sold on that! How far away has Ruger gotten from the base MKII, it's been years since I have fire one. I have a Colt Commander in .38 super, and a 1911A1 GI issue, and they are very near and dear to me, but I would love a 1911 in rimfire!
  6. HAPPY 4TH OF JULY TO YOU ALL! REMEMBER, THE SHORT FUSE STUFF WILL FUCK YOU UP, SO USE THE CIGARETTE TRICK. YOU CAN'T GAME WITH NO FINGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAVE A SAFE DAY BOYS!
  7. Thanks Paperman, having a story to go with the pictures makes it much more interesting. you have a very interesting family history.
  8. Hey Paperman, is that Jim Dandy Mangrum in your avatar? I saw those guys live years back!

  10. Glad you liked it! I think it is sad that I found these in the paper recycling, I guess he had no family to leave these to. I hope my kids don't throw all my stuff out when I pass on. And Happy Birthday to you!!
  11. Hi all, I found these post WWII pics at work the other day. They are dated about a year after Germany surrendered. http://s588.photobucket.com/albums/ss321/PEGLEG302/WWII
  12. Congrats Beers, you make COD5 fun, and you have a great sense of humor!! Thanks for the great maps you find too!
  13. I have used a Bluetooth for several years now, mainly because it's hands free, I won't get a ticket driving with one, and I can piss, drink beer and talk at the same time. I don't trust the W H O for shit, as they are trying to ban private possession of small arms and Billary is helping them. The threat of radiation is most likely real, but they want money from someone, Trick or Treat for Unicef ain't paying the bills.
  14. nice shooting Half-a-Hundred! Offhand or bench? Oh, and nice shooting to the Seal who got OBL through his 3rd wife's leg into his head! Or was it his wife's third leg, hmmmmmmmmmmm
