  1. Of coarse it is Ping, it's an advertisement for social media but where else you want me to put it? I placed it in general discussion which specifically states "Chat about any old shit in here." If you feel it's innappropriate then feel free to delete it. Then in May when the network goes viral and you hear about it from your friends/family/co-workers you'll wish you would of at least given it 3 minutes of your time today and got involved now.
  2. It's not an app right now, it's in the NDA phase and your just working on getting your circles set up. PM me your first, last name and email and I'll get you a code and you can see for yourself.
  3. First off, let me say a great big HI to all my XI friends, it's been a while since I last posted or even been in an XI server. Just wanted to let you know I'm still alive, just been hella busy and haven;t had any time to game. I ran across a post on my facebook that I thought some of you might find interesting so I thought I'd share it here on the forums since I don't have all of you on my FB. Remember how viral MySpace went? Then it was Facebook, then twitter, Instagram, pinterest... Something new is coming to social media next month, but this one is going to pay you real $$$ for everyone you share it to. Currently in their NDA (non-disclosure agreement) phase and only available to select few by using invite codes, rippln is going to be the next big thing. Watch the video, understand the concept, then inbox me your email address and I'll apply for an invite code for you. I can only give out 5 codes at a time so if your seriously interested in getting in during this NDA phase then let me know. This is no "get rich quick" pyramid scheme, it's genius marketing that works using the same methods that have already been proven by Angry Birds, Temple Run, Words with Friends, Farmville, and many more. Watch this video then if your interested send me a PM with your first & last name and email and I'll get you an invite code. It's that simple ! http://www.startmyripple.com
  4. This is a MUST see !!! The Ultimate Battlefield 3 Simulator, $650,000 budget ! It's a long video, but well worth it !! My only question.... Where do I buy the tickets ??? I sooo wanna try this !!
  5. My 2600K, Asus P8P67 Pro, and 8gb 1600 DDR3 is running real real real nice. I'm now loading into new map rotations as the 1st or 2nd person in. Before with my duo core I wouldn't load in until someone had 2-3 kills already. I'm also noticing it in my scores as well, no more lag when I turn around corners or when someone runs around the corner on me.
  6. They are both 1600 Ram. How is the one you posted faster? That ram you mention is also out of stock at newegg. The timings on it are 9-10-9-28 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231407&Tpk=8 %20GB%20G.Skill%20RipJaws%20PC3-16000%20DDR3-2000 The timings on the G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) is 7-8-7-24. Also in the specs of the ram you posted doesn't mention the ASUS P8P67 Mobo as a qualified mobo. Is that ram P67 tested? The ram I picked says it was designed for the P67 mobo for use with the SB chips.
  7. OK.... This is what I got in the cart now. Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K ASUS P8P67 PRO LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-8GBXH Only thing on sale right now is $5.00 off on the mobo. Gonna purchase either tomorrow or Monday, not sure yet. Hopefully if I wait till Monday something will go on sale by then
  8. So after doing some more reading I'm convinced the 2600K is the way to go. After asking some questions over at xtremesystems.org (my buddy's site) they tell me that graphic card technology doesn't even need x8 right now. Therefore x16 is 3-4 years away. I was told the highest overclock on the best batch # i7-950 processors with Water Cooled equals what the 2600K will do air cooled. Time to put together a new shopping cart on newegg.
  9. Ya, I was researching them last night. I'm about to upgrade myself from a Duo Core 3.4 to a Quad. The real question is, Do I go with what I planned on getting: ASUS P6X58D-E LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard $234.99 Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor BX80601950 $294.99 OCZ Reaper Edition 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) $229.99 OR Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K $329.99ASUS P8P67 Deluxe LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard $239.99 I noticed, not 1 motherboard yet supports both the new "Sandy Bridge" processor and PCIE-16 x 2 at 16x16. Sure they support 16x1 but once you put in Dual cards it drops the bandwidth to 8x8. Thus only getting 1/2 your cards potential when running SLI or Crossfire.
  10. How would those compare to (1) 8800GTX ? That's what we got in Arrienn's computer and we were just looking at getting her a 465 How would those compare to (1) 465 ?

  12. LOL that was funny, I see a new XI forum metal in the making.... "The Prankster" with an Icon of a Jester head/hat
  13. Another suggestion might be to talk to Rugger about the new advertising rates he has for the XI forums. Then.... the next person who asks for your help, see if they can pay Rugger for a months worth of advertising for you for your services. Then any additional work you get from the advertisement is pure profit and (like an opt-in newsletter) will be people fully expecting you to charge them for your skills. This not only helps you, but it also helps the XI site for the "paid advertisement".
  14. WOW !!!! I just watched your video in your sig.. I'm totally going to get me 2 more monitors now lol !! P.S. I'll be contacting you on how to set it up, lol
  15. DREAD69 - Computer help Well I am getting more and more request to work on computers and I am kinda getting bored. I tend to give advice for hardware settings and Overclocking a lot and it has been taking a lot of my time. I do crossloop and other remote desktop management services also and can have a computer up to it's potential in no time. It seems every time I turn arround I am getting these request. I don't mind working on computers but I need a way to make it more fresh or enjoyable. I have a select cuple of members that show there appreciation. They help me get a new game send me parts or a little paypall. I am posting here for some advice on how to make my time seem like it is worth something to me and not the guys getting free help. I do not want to come off the wrong way but I get the job done and then a lot of these people leave me hanging. I have members that even promised a paypall donation $5 $10 dollars. I work for 4-5 hours on the system and weeks later no paypall. I mean come on smoke one less pack of cigs and make somebody feel worth the work. I am not going to say names but you know who you are. This is not a recent developement so If I just worked on your computer this is not nessasarly about you. Just looking for ideas. I have spent more hours working on computers then I game lately. If I have worked on a computer for you and you believe I have helped maybe a post in this thread would help others see what I am talking about or push them to do the right thing. I do not want to end up being an ass and not wanting to help anyone anymore. I also do not want to just start a fee because I would not do that with my brother or any other member of my family. This is like another family to me and there are lots of good people here. Just looking for help so don't post being negative plz. P.S. WiZiD I will make time to walk you threw your bios this weekend. Thanks for the Cmos Clear switch. Dread69, I've been a member of XI for a little less than 4 years, and although I don't know you (probably cause we play different games) I can't disagree with you at all. There is nothing wrong with "donating" your time, AND there is nothing wrong with "charging" for your time either. The issue here (from my point of view) is what side of the line "donating your time" and "charging for your time" each person that asks you for help is on. With an clan/guild/organization/family the size of XI (300+) you (nor anyone else in this world) can afford to "donate" countless hours of your time. There is a difference between a hobby and your line of work. If your hobby is fixing computers then by all means donate all the time you want. But since it is the way you put food on the table and keep a roof over your head then there is nothing wrong with asking for a little compensation for your time. For example: My line of work is vinyl graphics, I have done a few graphics for XI members for free and I have charged for some. But... in each case, when someone comes to me asking me for some graphics I evaluate the situation. Is this person a good friend of mine, is this person a member of XI, is this an outsider, everything comes into perspective and I make my decision based off of that. Granted, for those that are in XI that I do charge, I give them a less than retail price and I pick up the shipping. But like I said, it is up to you to decide what side of the line an asking member is on. How well do you know the person asking for help? Diagnose the situation, is their computer issue going to take 5 minutes or 5 hours? Just like laywers, give a free consultation. If it's something you want to donate then let them know, likewise, if it's something that you think you should be compensated for then let them know before you do any work. A polite, "I'd be more than happy to help you out for a nominal fee of $x.xx". Then I would ask for payment up front and give them a 100% money back guarantee. Having select members promising $5-10 for 4-5 hours of work and then never giving you anything is a big bummer and I'm sorry to hear that. Hell, thats less than minimum wage. I respect you for ASKING FOR ADVICE here on the XI forums on what you should do and it pains me to see you getting flammed for asking for help, especially since you made it specifically clear in numerous places in your post that you were simply looking for advice and that you didn't want any negative posts. You came here asking for advice, you didn't come here demanding money (until your sarcastic follow up post ) You did nothing wrong Dread69 so don't feel bad and I stand behind you 100%
  16. I agree with Arrienn 200%, no not because if I don't agree I'll have to sleep on the couch. It's because when I try to browse the forums on my iphone when I'm away from home and got nothing to do it TAKES FUCKING FOREVER !!!! The sigs are too large is size, and if your trying to read a thread that has more than 3 or 4 posts on it then you can forget it on a 3G network. The only reason why people have not said anything before is because were mostly all on DSL or better which is at least an 8gb or faster connection. Not to mention the actual size of a signature, when you have a 23" monitor and you can only fit 1 post at a time it's a bit excessive. Theres nothing wrong with sizing down any signature on these forums, you'll still get their effect. Caper, her post was not directed to you personally, but to the whole XI member base.
  17. I use http://www.successfulhosting.com/ for all my websites. I run 5 different sites that all receive a great deal of traffic. I;ve been with them for 3 years now and have never had ANY of my sites go down. Set-up was very fast and thier 24/7 support is exactly what it is. 24/7 It can be 4am and theres always someone on live chat or you can even phone them for immediate response. They do have a ticket system but 9/10 times I've just used thier live chat or called them. The times I've had to use thier support system was for ecommerce things like setting up SSL and installing a few server side things like Perl 5 etc. Not 100% sure if they would be the perfect fit for XI due to how large we are but they are definatelly with checking out and talking to. They are very reliable and professional.
  18. Last night on my Tuesday night league I hit my bowling career highlight of my life.
  19. WiZiD Boy am I an idiot or what.......It friggen says right at the top of the flick the name duuuuuhhhhhh :-) I wasn't going to say anything
  20. Friend of mine said he was "disappointed beyond belief" with the 2nd one.
  21. "Is it dead?" OMFG I've never laughed so hard in my life.
