Very nice and shiny! My card is a 5850 , recon I will upgrade that around christmas time when I have saved a bit. Clocked mine to 4.8 earlier but it wasnt stable and I was at 1.39vcore , still alot of speculation as to what a safe everyday voltage is for these chips so I backed it down to 4.6ghz at 1.36v which will be fine for now lol. Passmark performance test result was amazing at 4.8ghz tho , check the scores out for all the other top cpu's on this list - www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html At 4.8ghz my 2600k scored 12443 Not bad considering the price eh!

Goodluck with your build Mofo. The frio was not too bad , just had to read the instructions a few times before fitting. The system is all up and running now , all windows updates done , security , drivers etc Even found the time for a little overclocking lol Just gone for a 4.5 clock for now till I get used to it , hit a max temp of 66 degree's when I was running Prime95 I am extremely impressed with the setup , its benchmarking very sweet. I am gonna attempt to put some pics up , might go wrong so bear with me , I am an idiot when it comes to pics for some reason! CplMOFO As I ordered at night, it hadn't shipped that night...so I assume that might ship tonight, but Purolator doesn't deliver during the week-end...so Monday or Tuesday...it's coming from the next province over... I will have time to build my rig and will install an ol GTX260 for a day or two...then I'll be ready for the card when it comes... So Turkey, what did you order exactly? Yeah , I wouldn't be able to wait to build. My stuff is here! Delivered at 8am! Lucky I was up early with my daughter. When is the beast being delivered? I decided not to wait as I had some cash come in today so I whacked it in my bank and ordered my cpu and mobo this morning for a Saturday delivery so you can guess what I will be upto tomorrow lol.

Glad u got your stuff Mofo , I ordered a few bits for my build yesterday and they turned up at work today Got my Ripjaws memory , Frio cooler (can't believe how big it is!) and a nice new Antec Truepower 750 psu. Will be ordering the 2600k and an Evo mobo on monday or tues next week to complete the line up. Let us know how you get on with your stuff Paul.

CplMOFO I started a Sandy bridge topic in the "computer help" section... Sandy is really good. The real question is: is your system really outdated to your taste and need? If the answer is yes, have at her!!!! In my situation, my Core2Quad Q9550 @ 3.8 is (IMHO) bottlenecking my 5870 graphics card. I was getting pretty much the same 3Dmarks06 results with a GTX260 core 216 (which is half the performance of the 5870)...still it's a 20 000 3dmarks06... So yes, for gaming, I could benefit from Sandy bridge... for everything else, jeez the computer is already really fast! Can I wait? Probably. AMD bulldozer might be good enough when it comes out to be a serious contender (coming out around April). If not, IVY BRIDGE, the 22nm refresh of Sandy bridge, with be even more powerful, new socket again (s2011)...with 2 full 16x PCI-E slots...and support for upcoming 6 core CPUs...(coming out at the end of 2011)... Sandy is interestingly more powerful than the socket 1366 Quads and stock and for cheaper, even factoring-in the twin 16x slots...factor-in an EASY AS HELL 4.6GHz stable overclock with the help of a $50 avg. heatsink, it's a steal... IVY bridge will be a lot more powerful again, but it's not gonna be the actual games that will push the limits... Wait until the next-gen consoles are coming out to see the need for more powerful computers...right now, nothing pushes them really... Hi bud , sorry I should have checked to see if there was a thread going on this 1st. Well for me I was planning to upgrade to the i7 950 , a 1366 mobo and some decent ddr3 ram this year anyway. Seeing this new cpu has made me very happy as it appears to be much better than the 950 in many ways so I will go with the 2600k , 1155 mobo and some nice 2000mhz ddr3 I recon. My current system is ok , Q8300 (which is terrible for oc'ing ,I have only managed to get it to 3.1ghz stable) , HD 5850 , crap mobo and some pretty slow by todays standard 800mhz ddr2 memory. I will proberly get a new gpu as well towards the end of the year and then I will be happy for a couple of years I recon. Cheers Paul.

Not sure if there is a thread already going on this? But jeez these chips look amazing! Comparison on passmark performance test benchmark software - i7 980x score 10460 cost (uk) £760 cheapest I can find i7 2600k sandybridge score 9178 cost (uk) £252 The new sandybridge can apparently be safely overclocked from 3.4ghz to 4.3ghz with the stock intel cooler! Max temp 72 degrees in stress tests. (Imagine how it will run with some nice aftermarket cooling! Runs around a 3rd of the power of the 980x and runs much cooler. I am back at work next week and will be starting my overtime to save up for a system change seeing as my old ddr2 system is very out of date now. Cpu £252 Mobo £140 Mem £60 Psu £60 Should be up and running by march , wish me luck lol. Any thoughts and opinions on the new i7s welcome. Cheers Paul.

This patch certainly seems to have improved my server browser list. With my filters set I used to get a max of 32 servers , I am now getting over 220

I have found all 3 and added them to favs now. Had a quick blast on the FFA one , I like this game alot

Hi Guys , Turkey here. Not posted for a while but always check in every day. Still play on the best dedi server I have every had the pleasure to use (XI Ace mod). I have been looking forward to Black ops for a while now and as the release date draws nearer its not disapointed , I recon its gonna be awesome. I have all fingers crossed and toes and all sorts of shit that XI will have a server on it especially if its like the Ace mod! Hope your all well. Paul.

From what I have read , If you pre-ordered Battlefield bad company 2 from certain places then you were entitled to a free beta version of the game on the pc which was released yesterday. Has anyone got/played the beta yet? First impressions etc? Am really looking forward to this game , looks awesome , dedicated servers etc. Hope the idiots will have a server on it , will be more than happy to chip in a bit Paul.
