Thought I'd put this here....not sure if its computer or COD4 its suppose to post to. Please move if needed....

Ok.....I have been playing COD4 on my stand alone 32xp drive flawlessly for a while now only getting the usual "i3wmp" crap kicks.  Today while playing on MW2 V.2 I got a kick from PB saying "disallowed driver 0 min" which I think I got once on my 1st install on old box a while back.  I went and updated PB thinking that was it. I again get kicked for same thing. I rebooted the computer Note that when I start the game I get the usual ....Safe mode option of which I always hit "no" of course.

Upon trying again I get into game but the screen looks terrible....almost like its in safe mode but worse.  All the words and lettering are fuzzy and ragged edges. My video card actually makes them look better on the screenies  I added below. When I hit "join game" I get an immeadiate kick for "i3wmp...".

I then uninstalled it and reinstalled it and even cleaned out all my saved stuff etc and did a clean install which did the same thing as before.  Got kicked as soon as you click join.

Sooooo.... I yanked it all off and went to my XP 64 drive which has COD WaW & BlackOps and installed it there. Well ..... I got same shit as before just like screeny below. BTW those are the XP64 screenies posted after the 2nd install. I did do a google search briefly but saw nothing that pointed to the issue at hand. I thought someone who had experienced this or has knowledge would share with me.

I would like to add that the BlackOps and WaW are working fine with the exception of no sound on the WaW...but we will address that later.

I really appreciate any help offered here to resolve this. If need be I can meet someone on TS if they wish if they choose

My equipment is as follows........

MB........Foxconn A7DA-S 3.0

Ram........8G DDR# @1333

CPU......AMD 1100T BE 3.3Ghz

Graphics.....ATI...6950 2G

HDD.........4x 74G 10K Raptors in raid 5

RD if I was you first check your resolution in game by going into your options and see if it is what you had it set at prior to this issue. Some times i get kicked too and when I get back in my resolution has been changed! Start there first!

SO, just to be clear. You are on the same rig.. you just swapped from an external drive loaded with 32XP to a drive loaded with 64XP?

If that is the case, then maybe this will help:  I have had similar happen to me with corrupt directX drivers. I recommend uninstall/reinstall of vid drivers.  The part that worries me is that you swapped from one OS to another on separate drives.. which might indicate that you are experiencing a graphic hardware problem. Try the drivers and see what happens.

Let us know how it goes. Good Luck.

actually its an internal drive. I have a multi boot setup controlled by OSL2000. The COD4 game is the only 1 suffering from visual issues as you see in the pics. I started up Blackops and its smooth and clean. Would not others be affected as well?  just asking .

I did rollback 1st then uninstall drivers on the 32Xp but i did not do that on 64XP install

@ Bigmeandean.........i run it at 1024x768........if  I run it at some high res. I cant see the damn text in game its small and my eyes are getting bad from meds I take and diabetes.

I agree, it would affect all if it were a hardware issue... so that is good news. I will do some google digging too, I'm stumped at this point.

I would agree with Dean.. play around with graphics and texture settings and see what happens. If you carried over your user folder from one drive to the other.. and your user profile was 'reset' when pb kicked you (if it was), it would explain crappy visual settings. I've had it happen before, and it is why I now keep a backup of my player profile on usb.

Have you tried just creating a new default profile and see what that does?

PT.......I actually did save my  "player" and "mod" folders and added them to the XP 64 install.  it made no difference.   BTW.............you can not load ANY servers either fyi.  I've been beating my nuts on the table since 7am my time trying every config I can figure might resolve it.   I'm going to hunt me a good program to test the card out and see if there is any issues . its only 2mos old  but that dont say anything.... just cant figure why only this.  I'll shoot a screeny of my Blackops up here for comparison for the eye.  Below is  screenys from BO so you can see the difference in clarity.

I also ran passmark and the card and computer are running fine.

I also tried single player and its all blurry as well plus when I attempt to join I get "i3w" kick immeadiatly

@ Nutcutter.......I did a default fresh player and no results....  I dont mind starting again if I need to.

UPDATE...........................

After uninstalling/re-installing cleaning all the audio/video/mouse drivers out 3 times I got it to work however at 1024x768 res that I'd been running since I 1st built this box and installed the game would not stand up as it was prior. I'm at 1900x1080 and it looks good however the texting in game in so small I can not see it. I cant narrow down the culprit in this scenario but I'm leaning towards it possibly having something to do with the mouse drivers I've added for a 2nd mouse I use which are both logitech and each run off their own receiver.  In any event I really appreciate the extra insight and help with this.

Yeah, odd how little things can make such a diff.. I used to have terrible trouble if I didn't have a usb drive plugged into a port on my old computer.. something to do with the drivers. It was an odd little quirk.

Keep trying to sort it, you will find the right combo at some point to get it where you want it. :)
