You should start your own business. Well... then what would I do with my engineering degree I'm working on? lol This is like $20 of parts / wax + polish... and about 20 hours of work. How much would it go for on ebay? It prolly won't come out to much of an hourly rate. Thank you btw! It's a very satisfying feeling when you finish something like this!!

I'm hoping it will air out a bit over the next month. My previous cedar stem wasn't anywhere near this strong smelling.

Once the oils and resins begin forming inside the pipe and coat the inside those "aromas of cedar should go away . . .If not . .well you will just have to use a different type of wood. I had good luck with Ash (same wood as some baseball bats are made of . . . A very light colored hard wood) Black walnut (a nice dark wood fairly hard . . .made a nice contrast with the Ash) You might give Hickory a try also. keep posting pics of your projects . .we might be >Idiots< but we know a good pipe eidolonFIRE and WolfTiS 2 Awards

I think I would just need a piece with fewer knots. Hickory tends to have a lot of voided knots.. (empty or sappy)
