I'm not able to connect to any modded minecraft server

I am currently using the DNS pack because I think the Xtreme Idiots Mod Pack I tried to play from Technic was too much for my computer to handle. The DNS pack installed successfully, but now I'm not able to play multiplayer. When i select one of the servers (the one for Xtreme Idiots BETA) it brings me to a screen with several errors due to the mods. I'm not sure what I'm doing here. Anybody have any advice?

Yeah the DNS server is no longer in existence.

Vanilla and xi pack. But you shouldn't really have an issue running in. Seems odd. If you can run DNS you can certain run the XI pack

Oh, that's odd because yesterday I tried with the Technic launcher and right when the Xtreme Idiots Mod Pack was about to finish initializing, it crashed and I was sent back to the launcher page.

It worked...kinda. Although I'm able to connect to a server, I am lagging sooo much, even in singleplayer.

Check your ram allocation, if you have at least 8 gig on your computer dedicate 4 gig to minecraft.

I have at total of 6 GB on my computer. If I dedicate 4 GB to minecraft, will that be fine?

No, Typically you want to dedicate no more than half of your computers ram. So in your case dedicate 3 Gb

To reduce your lag you may want to look into buying another 6 to 10 gigs of ram. Its pretty cheap these days.
