Okay, the last couple of days i have been getting " iw3mp has encountered a problem and needs to close" when playing cod4

 

now it says my drivers are upto date so don't know what else to do,  oh and i am a comp idiot,

 

any help gratefully accepted

If it says drivers are up to date Reload try rolling them back to a previous version, see if it helps, also not sure if i read it on this forum last week that activision had supposed to have done something to cure this annoying problem..obviously not. Other solutions people have put forward are just plugging headphones into your mic socket ..i think, if you look back through the forum there might still be some links to it m8 or you could just google iw3mp.exe problems, sorry i'm not more help.

yep googled it SOB, Laughing found a real simple solution,

 

went into me Miles folder in cod 4,  changed the mssmp3.asi to mssmp3.bak

 

and seems to have done the trick, just played two maps with no issues
