I had this same issue one time, and it was related to the jack the headphones were plugged in to. Try switching to another USB and see if that fixes it.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Damas y Caballeros --- We have a winner!

 

All I had to do was unplug my headset from the USB port and plug it back in. Presto! I now hear everything. Thanks for all the help, I truly appreciate it :-)
