@djMot timeout set on DM3 is the same as the other servers. Other cause of this which is out of our hands is that activision's validation server is not releasing the game key right away. Was just in the Redline server without issue and as well loaded the map alcatraz so not clear on why anyone would be having trouble getting in. This server has run before many times, only change this time around is the mixed game type. if the problem persists, then will try straight DM, but there's no known issues with the maps that are in play. As for DX9 errors, perhaps a local issue and the version of DX on the machine. Rotation on DM3 will be swapped out sometime today.

Thanks @djMot. Now that you mention, I do recall something about that. Like you, I've also resorted to keeping an ISO of the game disk and copy of all my game keys, just in case.

Ah... Steam... I do believe Steam automatically patches the game so you should be good that way. I don't know much about how steam works with this game, don't use Steam, so hopefully someone else here can shed more light on your issue.

Not sure really... @BigPapaDean Can you clarify what you are using, Steam, disk or disk image?? With what you got, did you get a proper game key with it?

Is this a Steam copy? Steam would update/patch automatically if that is the case as far as I know, I'm not familiar with how Steam manages games and installs. Outside of that, if it's a legit CD copy, those patches should work.

Dean, Patches can be found in the Downloads section but here are the links. Install them in this order. There's a patch in the downloads listed as 1.2-1.3 but is not needed so don't install it. Also no need to reboot every time, just install them in order. Patch 1.0117 Patch 1.2 Patch 1.2-1.4 Patch 1.4-1.5 Patch 1.5-1.6 Patch 1.6-1.7

1. Make sure you have all the patches and have installed them in order. 2. Make sure you have a headset/mic plugged in. Those are the 2 main things to try/check first.

Was just outside the prime zone so didn't see totality of it but had a nice afternoon out in the yard, great weather and a nice clear sky. Taken with my telescope + camera. Could find the right pc to fit between the camera and scope so really was just the camera using the scope as a 2000mm lens, would have like to have gotten the sun/moon in a full shot.

Looking at that option this morning, I do have an adapter for my Canon that fits into the 2" eyepiece. Doesnt start till about 2:25ish ADT so got time to set up yet.

Sounds crazy doesn't but they work. Don't have glasses so will be using this... 8" solar filter I have for my telescope.

Redline is an excellent mod, essentially a full server side conversion.
