I'd probably go with the 2nd option, especially if it's a bit cheaper. The higher priced one is probably partly due to be Intel. I'd just caution in the case size so make sure it's adequate. Video cards are getting pretty large and create a lot a heat. Iv always preferred full towers just for the space and airflow, helps with cooling but I don't use coolers either, just fans.

Neat little customization. Made mine a bit a wider as well, not quite as wide as yours but just so it's not a sliver lol. I am running 11 pro and the colour change to the scrollbar did not seem to work though. Not sure if it's the version or as I have read, may not work in 11 as it did in win 10. Be nice if MS just made some of these more visual customizations available in the settings menu, comes down to accessibility I think, not everyone would be comfortable editing the registry. Not a Steam user but seen this topic come up a number of times, something about the version that Steam installs that our servers don't run. Check this topic out: https://www.xtremeidiots.com/forums/topic/77574-18-to-17-from-steam-reversal-patch/#comment-833416 As for punkbuster, don't believe PB is activated on COD4 so not sure if this related. Maybe someone else will have an answer for that.

Try the patches found here: https://www.xtremeidiots.com/files/category/22-patches/ By default, usermaps folder will be found here: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW\usermaps The AppData folder is hidden so make sure you have hidden folders checked to make visible. The game will create the usermaps folder if you don't. The above is assuming you are installing with the CD version.

I had to install 23H3 because I was no longer getting updates and stuck on 21H2 because my PC is older and doesn't meet the hardware requirements. I just did a clean install of Win11 23H2 last night with no issue using Rufus, https://rufus.ie/en/ also available in the Microsoft Store. The Rufus too worked pretty slick. Just download the Windows 11 ISO from the Microsoft site, https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows11 and run the Rufus tool, and it will do the rest. Just need a large enough USB drive.

Ah, ya, maybe I did a clean install the first time running the iso from USB. Don't recall for sure but that may very well be the case. So to go forward again, may have to do a clean install and then re-install everything again. arg... damn TPM requirement Really don't want to spend the $ on upgrading PC components if I don't have to. I play mainly the older COD games and my internet is direct wireless so really won't benefit from a newer PC in that respect. Trying to keep up with Windows is a bigger problem. Thanks for the feedback.

The monitor you looked at above looks decent for the price but without budget in mind or knowing your current video card setup, I'd look for something that has 144Hz refresh rate (if your video card supports it) and 1 to 2 ms response time. The one above is 100hz which isn't horrible, that's what I run cause my video card is older and doesn't support 144, and the response time is showing 5ms, typically for gaming, ideally you want 1 - 2ms. As for the monitor style, I have a 34" curved ultra wide and do like it, even for just mainly playing these older COD games. In the end, whatever suits your needs, support of current hardware, and budget. There's lots to choose from.
