Here is my newest quote. I made the change to the 2.5" drives since I can have 16 of them. So going with 1t drives should not be a problem as I can have another 9T in 1T drives. That is great on the cert. Well I am thinking of making some changes. I am thinking the solid state drives are over rated when I can outfit this server with TERABYTES rather 2.5T in my original config. Talking to Paperman.. who cares less just made me think. Tried to get him to visit me but he is afraid I will touch him inappropriately. Who ME? I have have 16 2.5 sata the small drives still 10,000 rpm drives rather the 8 500gb solid state drives. I think I will be needing way more space and I can do 2 drives as stand bye and hot swapable so who cares if one fails. Plus with my backup system who cares if I lose the server. Plus I want to drop one of the processors.. thinking of now going with the T320 but was not wanting to limit the upgradability.. but if they need more power.. I put this sever in the remote office and put a better in its place. No Exchange... FUCK exchange. No taxing software yet so not worried about that. Just file and print. Even a Mac could do the job. hahahaha FU pinglo. So.. rethinking so bring the initial cost down and bring it to what it needs today and make the disk-pace expandable to what it will need I think because of the videos and other rather get a beast when all I need is a good horse. So it helps even though no one has any input and I wont no word from Pinglow.. but it helps me rethink what I was thinking as I learn by talking even to myself. .

Buying a server for a client. I have chosen the T420... imagine that. They tried to push me the T320 and I said NOPE the 420. hahahha even though I quite. I have it set with 8gb of ram. 5 Solid Sate Drives, 2 in a mirror for os giving me 500gb and 3 in a RAID 5 giving me 1T of solid disk pace.. Get it solid? It will have the what I called them in the compaq days RIM.. remote insight boards that would allow me to shut the server off from remote to do patches or whatever. Like power it down then back on. Pretty cool technoloty. You can even install the server from remote. Cant wait to play with that. I went ahead and priced out a Sonicwall not my favorite but Wifi VPN 10 up-gradable user router so I have support 24/7 from Dell but know I can figure it out but you never know. Prefer a Juniper but would have to pay more is I needed support. Screw Cisco... they are overrated. Then well I am being a hypocrite now.. getting a Cisco Managed switch but would rather get a HP Procure instead but they are pricey. 2008 Server 5 cals then another 10 2012 licences that I have to downgrade to 2008.. WTF? Not going to no 2012. Would rather just have 2003. It is a solid server OS. Then 8 upgrades to windows 8 pro so they can attach to the domain. Sure hope SP1 comes out soon. Norton 360.. hate it but it is a server and needs a server class anitivirus. No way in hell will I choose McAfee.. i would go to a MAC before I did that. Total bill around $8000+- Any suggestions. I have not purchased a server class machine in a long time... back in the Compaq DL380 Gen 3 days or Dell 2550 and 35?? cant remember when the Prec RAID controllers sucked ass. This is just more a question and answer to kind of summarize his book or give the more interesting parts.
