Ok! it looks like i found the problem... it is the Razor surround Pro! which is unfortunate because i paid $25 for it! i disabled it and the problem stopped with the server timing out! now i just got to figure out how to roll back this program!
You are not the only one who suffers with this problem, many others do too,update your sound drivers, if you already did that recently and the problem started after that then roll them back, it's a sound issue usually it's Realtek onboard sound cards that suffer, there are lots of other potential fixes, just Google the problem you will see. The only thing that ever worked for me was to uninstall Cod4 completely and then update my sound drivers, then reinstall Cod4 back to my new drivers.
