Logitech Dual Action Gamepad

Well, I could just use GlovePie to do that.. but what about the analog axis? Route them to the mouse? I suppose that could work.... hmmm -
Logitech Dual Action Gamepad
eidolonFIRE replied to eidolonFIRE's topic in Battlefield 3's Battlefield 3 Discussion
Well, thing is, it works just fine for other games. Also, it's properly installed and calibrated. When I said I tried a lot of things, I meant it. Some of them very advanced, like emulators changing Xinput to Direct Input and vice versa. Also, of of them was to emulated it like an Xbox 360 controller. -
I have literally spent hours trying dozens of different ways to get my controller to even be recognised by BF3. I have searched many many forums and devsites and tried many very valid solutions that have worked for others, but the game still won't even see my controller. I'm pulling my hair out.. I want to fly jets but that's basically impossible to do with a mouse. Yall know anyone who has gotten their's to work? I'm really going to just give up I think. It's very disapointing that they would have such poor support for game controllers. I am disapoint! lol Not to mention that it's the only game or program that frequently gives my computer the blue screen.

spawn killin
eidolonFIRE replied to Evil-Monkey 's topic in Battlefield 3's Battlefield 3 Discussion
BigGoliath1 A lot of the issue might be your choice of where to spawn or who to spawn on. You can't expect protection spawning in a firefight or on a contested point. Good point... if there is too much protection, squad spawning on the enemy side would be unfair. (if say they were invincible or invisible for 2 seconds) -
spawn killin
eidolonFIRE replied to Evil-Monkey 's topic in Battlefield 3's Battlefield 3 Discussion
I totally agree!!! It's a massive problem! (about 50% of my deaths are spawn kills) -
I'm pretty much a noob to this game, but I think I've finally found how to long distance snipe without dying instantly. Never stand still! As long as I don't stand still, counter snipers can't get a hit on me right away (1 in 10 does). The first thing I do when i find a good position is check for counter snipers. What I think is kinda lame about this game is that it's made easy by the HUGE white glare glinting off of their scope. Oddly enough, it seems most of the time they are laying down and are an easy target. I usually get them first shot and they completely miss me because I'm pacing back and forth randomly. (when their 200-300 yards anyway, beyond that it usually takes the first shot to figure out the range) Occasionally I stop to take the shot, but if I stop for more than a second and a half, that's long enough for an M98B to get a hit from +/-250yds, so I never stay still for longer then that if I think I'm in sight of the opposing side. It seems that I always die the fastest when I am lying down in the grass or behind a wall with tons of cover. If I'm using any long range scope the white glint will give me away instantly to opposing snipers that are already in position. And it doesn't matter HOW much cover I have because good snipers can shoot you through a pin-hole in the wall. Oh, and another thing I've noticed is that most people will stop what their doing and go out of their way to kill a sniper if they see one up in a good position with tons of line-of-sight. I actually avoid the typical "top-of-the-building" vantage points because people check them so often and will throw all the explosives they've got up to where you are until they see your body flying. Then you either die, cower in fear until the wall separating you from their bullets is gone from rockets, or take the noble suicide jump from your comfortable sniping nest.

BF3 James Bond Moments
eidolonFIRE replied to DEEJAYKEG's topic in Battlefield 3's Battlefield 3 Discussion
tru that on the sniper lol. Those were pretty sick tricks. I always wonder though about those vids.. are they: A) Practiced and setup (final take after many tries) The player plays 100+ hours a week and just picks out the best tricks from the week of footage. -
yea, I understand why it's on and all... and I agree.. I just thought my luck sucked lol. I prefer hardcore because it's more favorable to snipers and because that's how I always used to play in cod4. So, i'm used to not having much HUD and having things be much more realistic. Actually, imo, in hardcore you shouldn't get ANY unit locations on the map. (like tank locations, and player locations) ... maybe not even the locations of the flags. It would REALLY be realistic then.

oh, and since I got kicked... I now have to wait through the que to get back in... sigh
-
gee.... First place, hardcore server, lots of points (for playing recon), Metro Mission, and I get too many team killz and get kicked.... sigh lost all those points because 3 times in a row I had a bead on someones head... fired... and killed, them, and a teammate who ran infront of me at just the wrong time.... I hate this map...

So who's gotta pay??
eidolonFIRE replied to 2cuteSue's topic in Battlefield 3's Battlefield 3 Discussion
I will, but I bought the game for $25 so it's all good. (though I might not buy it anyway if I can help it, I haven't had that much free time with exam finals.... maybe over the holidays I will, who knows) -
What do you use, Keyboard or Joystick
eidolonFIRE replied to 2cuteSue's topic in Battlefield 3's Battlefield 3 Discussion
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826154008 I have one of these so I tried it to game, but it's too hard to think about all those axis on one hand. I don't have that much cordination. BUT, it's amazing for 3D art and I couldn't live without it. For gaming I use a G500 (mouse) and am hoping to get a nostromo in the near future. -
I can't handle the insanity!!!! aaaAAAAAAaaaHHHHhhh!!!!!! [ burns up an dies ]

anyone else got this vid card?
eidolonFIRE replied to 2cuteSue's topic in Battlefield 3's Battlefield 3 Discussion
I found this chart VERY helpful when I was putting together my computer. http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html I ended up getting the AMD Radeon HD 6870 and I can run the game 1080p everything on maximum. (but I choose to run the antialiasing a bit lower than max and the motion blur off cause I like it to be a bit more crisp looking) -

Punkbuster Violation??
eidolonFIRE replied to 2cuteSue's topic in Battlefield 3's Battlefield 3 Discussion
oh, also try running the program as admin. Also, I found this: """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Join a PB server, and drop the console with ~, then type pb_logtofile 1 and then pb_writecfg Wait until you get kicked. Now check your ..\pb folder for a file called pbcl.log If you have hidden your file extensions, please make sure you open pbcl.log and not pbcllog.cfg! or pbcl.db Paste the line from there into a new note. In case the kick occurs too fast to type the commands, go to your PB folder and create a plain text file "pbcl.cfg" in it (use a text editor like "Notepad", make sure it has no additional '.txt' extension). Put the text "pb_logtofile 1" as a single line to it. Then save the file and join a PB enabled server. After getting kicked, you should have a file "pbcl.log" in the PB folder.
