Exactly. Any of the Total War games are fun where you had to play the map, then play out a real battle. The interesting thing is everyone would end up playing a bit different. Its not set up that you are just free to roam around playing like normal. It could that your job for that match is strictly to laser designate targets, or to strictly be a LAV driver. Now any person in their right mind would know who is good at what, and try to do as much as they could to put people like you Sid, in the front lines on the ground, or people like Damit in the chopper. But ultimately there would be times where your job for that match is something totally different. I forgot to add this part to the explanation of the game. This is the cool part. In Teamspeak you can set up "Whisper Lists" So the Commander/General can talk to only his two Colonels, who can hear their Captains and the Commander/General. The Captains then set up a Whisper List so they can only hear the Colonels and their squad. This allows you to talk to people in multiple channels. It makes it so that there is a chain of command. Commands come down the chain and are then handed out live, in the middle of battle. This isnt just a free for all. Perhaps we could get enough people to sign up for even a simple 12 vs 12 mock battle, so you guys get the idea.

I know getting the first few games going would be the toughest. Right now a site called http://global-conflict.org/whatisgc.php has been doing something similar to this since BF1942. I ran a few rounds with them in BF3 and it was the most fun I ever had. You have to make the server unranked though cause stats get all fucked up. The first round my job was to Javelin any helicopter from the top of the construction site on Gulf of Oman. I went 272-2 The next round my job was to repair a tank that was on the front lines. I went 7-143 So as you can see the stats can be crazy. Yes and yes. UNO is also confusing if you have never played it before and yes. let me know your thoughts. this is an interesting consideration. when i played this in BF3 (4 man squads) my first squad was: Recon - for fast re-deploy but more importantly target designation Engineer x 2 - Me (javelin to take out designated targets) Support - Resupply Second round was: Recon Engineer Support Assault as we were front lines and needed the rez's Limiting the number of each class could be interested. Ill just leave this here. This doesn't have to be done with XI or any XI servers. Enough of us are interested to even get it going on our own if need be. Of course I would like to run it by XI and see what members would be interested in helping. Or more importantly what your thoughts are? Keep in mind any games instructions are always confusing at first. Heck, think about when you learned how to play Chess. If you have never played Risk, Warhammer, DnD, or Axis and Allies this probably will not sound appealing to you. It's something I have been thinking about for the last 2 years or so. I will also post this in XI Members Input or Discussion, but your guys opinions are the first that interest me. Eventually I will branch out into Battlelog, Reddit, NFO forums, etc to try and get the help needed to make this happen. Possibly create a website, look for someone to do graphics, or even an instructional video. I wont say anything about it right now until/unless people are actually interested. Right now its US only, but wouldnt take long to get you guys set up. It is really nice for putting squads together. No one has to sit and find you or leave a squad and join. You just pull them in. Might have time tonight or tomorrow. Or Edd can follow the instructions on Mouses link above.

I've used the sn Tek99 since BF1942 and for nearly every FPS I have played since (and ive played tons of them). It was taken in BF3 so it was time to find another. I remembered back to the days of Goldeneye 007, obviously one of the best FPS's ever created, even for console! I remember how everyone hated people who played as OddJob, so I figured I would run with the name in BF from here on out. I have considered changing my name many times, but decided there are just too many Idiots in XI and most likely the new name would never stick.

How did you get your soldier name? What does it mean to you?

This is already implemented. Although for the time being I have restricted access to Admins. I could open it up to others, but it would be a select few. It will force people in to your squad, so we don't want it abused.

FYI anyone that has a 75Hz-144Hz+ monitor, turn off V-Sync and change pre rendered frames to 1. If you have a refresh of 75 and your FPS ever goes below that, it will cut your FPS in half to 37.5. Same with 100,120,144 etc. When VSync is enabled, your graphics card becomes a slave to your monitor. If at any time your FPS falls just below your refresh rate, each frame starts taking your graphics card longer to draw than the time it takes for your monitor to refresh itself. So every 2nd refresh, your graphics card just misses completing a new whole frame in time. This means that both its primary and secondary frame buffers are filled, it has nowhere to put any new information, so it has to sit idle and wait for the next refresh to come around before it can unload its recently completed frame, and start work on a new one in the newly cleared secondary buffer. This results in exactly half the framerate of the refresh rate whenever your FPS falls below the refresh rate. If you have a 60Hz monitor and are getting less than 60FPS. Well may the Gods of Money help you.

ewwwww turn v-sync off! Set max rendered frames in nvidia to 1. It will do you much better.

pretty much 8 hours a day. which just so happens to be the same amount of time I work in a day. P.S. I have got at least 20+ people to join our server, from Reddit. Great place to recruit.

cant speak for other servers, but we always work together on the US server, so this will never happen. If it does, it will only add laughter and amusement. You best be assured I will take squad leader away from another member, if they arent issuing orders.

Apparently this bug is still in the game. However, you have to be hitting the button as the building is falling. Then, in this case, you can hit the button, get in a vehicle and this happens:
