got it sorted, Larsin guided me through, while in game, went to options, multiplayer options, and was able to amend my name and add the XI tags. This only seems to work when you are in game, the option wont work off line. Still don't know why it happened in the first place...some sort of jiggery pokery I guess

I've never used it, always use the Z key to speak. This tags thing is really hacking me off now, and since trying to sort it have also lost all my player points too WTF??

I only use COD2 and 4, and this only happened after the server move. What I don't understand is why I cannot amend my name again to add the tags, but no matter what combo key stoke I use, cannot get the > or < symbols...

Since the server move my XI tags have just joined my game name, ie instead of mickvette>XI< it now comes up as mickvettexi. I have tried renaming but cannot get the > or < to type, have tried all sorts of key combos but nothing works, any clues?

Hi Matt, managed to get COD2 to work, sort of, but also COD4 now working, no idea why it suddenly is, magic goblins or something I reckon!

as I said, I have no problem with COD4 when on the Activision servers, these error messages and faults only happen on XI, and why would I not have the speakers connected, would be a weird way to play with no sound

but I like my name

I am now at a total loss as to how to sort this as nothing seems to fix it. I can play fine on the Activision servers, but hate it as full of fucking hackers, spawn campers and general fuckwits! Plus SOOOOO slow, like running thru treacle (mollases!)

now further to the iw3 exe problem, which I thought was sorted, just now, map change after playing, whole system crashed with fatal error messages, only way out was thru task manager. Cannot get COD4 running at all now thru HLSW, just crashes every time! Any thoughts?

not that problem, mine are always plugged in. This error just comes up randomly, it's not like we were all getting at one time a while back, didn't have the error for several days, then out of the blue, it came up 3 times last night!

I can see all my games in the direcftory/library, problem is for some unknown reason when i go to down load, or install a game I have on disc, the error massage stating no coonection available to their servers comes up. Their 'help' was to check my router was connected to the internet,WTF? ofm course it is that is why i am on line conversing with you, another was a really complex change to the exe target, which after following the crap instructions, also did nothing, so like I said, have uninstalled steam and closed the account, guess that shortly I will be unable to play any games due to this fucked up crap installation system now. Why the hell should this be, you pay over the top prices for a game, then still cannot install without steam, utterly rediculous!

That's if you can download it! As I siad in an earlier post, after eventually managing to get my account sorted, was unable to connect to their servers so still could not install MW2, also could not access Alien V Predator or Black Ops, another 2 games I own and cannot bloody play, thanks to steam (refuse to capitalize their name any more!) So now i have 3 games I purchased that I cannot play, fucking rediculous!

The whole thing is a total rip off, soon wont be bothering to play anything other than COD4, but how long before Steam gets that as well, question is WHY?

Right, so that's Steam (SHITE!) uninstalled, never be bothered by it again, and if any Activision products have to be installed using it, will NOT be buying them either!

aaargggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, FUCKING STEAM :devil: :devil: :devil: so at last I managed to get my login sorted, now trying to install MW2, guess what, yes, more fucking issues, this time I keep getting the error message An error occurred while installing COD MW2: content servers unreachable.. oh you don't say.......for fucks sake!!! So go to the 'Help' (that's ironical isn't it).... again, comes back with all sorts of bullshit, reboot you router (how fucking unusual, why would this be an issue when I am online talking to you, you fuckwits!, and changes to make to exe file, which are bollocks as the exe file is not as they state, and trying to change the target by adding location 1 etc also does not work! I have messaged them back, basically telling them what they can do with their account, what a total fucked up shite load of bollocks! Fuck me I am so fucking angry now!!!!!!!!!!!!! Taking my copy of MW2 out tonight to ceremonially smash it to pieces as it is of no use to me or anyone else! Thanks for fuck all Steam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes they reset for my new email address, I did everything they asked, the resets followed each time but have never worked, I still cannot login to the account so unable to install MW2. I just cannot understand why this is being such an issue, also rediculous that a game cannot be installed without using Steam! Oh by the way, I'm not far from you, now live in a little village called Middlezoy, about 6 miles from Bridgwater
