My old account was closed down years back, and I haven't used steam since then, this is what seems to have caused the problem. But I cannot see why this should be such an issue, surelly as they have already acknowledge my account cahnges, verified the new account address, and that I am an existing customer who simply wants to install a previously installed game on a new PC, this should be straight forward. I cannot believe this has never happened to anyone else before!

I am losing the will to live over this issue. I have managed to get a dialogue with Steam, they unlocked the account, reset my email, but it wouldn't let me log in, they reset again, got me to change my passwrod, still nothing, they then reset trhe account again, nothing, they have just rest my password and sent me one of theirs to login and...yes you've guessed it, still cannot log in! How difficult can it be to sort out the account? If, after this, they don't sort it, will uninstall Steam and dump my copy of MW2 as it is unusable, and nobody else can use it either :devil:

Trouble is I am using Windows 8, seems evrything against me getting both COD2 and CODMW2 ever to work again :devil: :devil: :devil: :devil: :devil:

I know, but I can find no option in the Help area to inform them of this, even though I have updated my email contact etc. The only reason I left it so long was that, apart from the first installation of COD4MW2, I never use steam, so now I am reinstalling on a new PC I have this problem.

I have been trying to install COD2 on a new PC as I haven't played it in ages, however I get a message strating that there are issues with installation. I am running Windows 8.3. I clicked on the option for Windows to resolve, but it came back with no solution available. Anyway I went ahead with installation, but now when I try to run it, the screen freezes, goes blank, and the only way out is to use task manager to get to the Desk Top, then shut down. Anyone else had this?

I gave as much as I could, including the key code, so hopefully will get sorted, no reply as yet

meant to add, downloaded the Discord app, but it doesn't seem to like to load up, not having a great time at the moment also tried to reinstall my old COD2, seems that Windows 8 doesn't like it, and there are 'issues' that cannot be resolved!!

I have now managed to find a place on the site to give all this info, jeez they aren't helpful are they? Trouble is you cannot install CODMW2 without Steam, what a rip off!! I have also contacted BT, to see if I can access my old email to get the access code sent to that address, i know the address still sorks as I emailed it and no bounce back, trouble is i cannot access it at the moment, its over 2 years since I used it, on Sky now!

Hi, sorry but what is Discord? Steam is really pissing me off now, every turn is asking me to check the verification sent to my old email address, which I cannot access as it was closedm years ago. I can find no other way of contacting them!!!

I have been trying to install COD4 MW2 again, but Steam wont let me as I had it installed previously (couple of years back), but with a different email address (which one I have no idea) I registered with their support, but have to click on an email they are supposed to have sent, but have not received, checked spam etc, and have clicked to have it resemt about 50 times, nothing. Question is, how the hell are you supposed to contact them if you are not getting the email for the link required. The Steam site is bollocks to try and get any help at all, has anyone else had this problem, and is there a way round it!

I used to have that problem before I moved from Dorset to here in Somerset, now with 42meg Broadband don't seem to have those problems anymore

Is it just me, or does there seem to be a real influx of hyper speed players, that just CANNOT be beaten by mere mortals like myself? The last few times I have been playing have just been soul destroying, several games I managed to achieve a zero score with dozen of kills against me. I know I am not the greatest gamer, but the fun does seem to be going out of it. Just me??

. Anyhoo, this game is old and directx 9 is becoming a legacy with time. At some point with newer OS this game will completely start breaking down. ...I hope not, what will I do on those long winter nights without COD4 ;-(

done all the above, guess what, still got bloody iw3mp.exe issues, seems ti will never go. Only get this in acemod

Having just run XI downloader, the bloody iw3mp.exe fault is back with a vengeance, I CANNOT get it to work and have tried everything I did before, does anyone know of a REAL fix for this bloody annoying problem? Strangely I only get this when on AceMod, Zombie, Hide and Seek, and all the activision sites are fine, so why only on acemod

Whilst it is great to have lots of maps, could we maybe have a calming period of a few weeks without the constant stream of new maps all the time? I run downloader but still have the problem of new maps appearing and having to wait for yet another download. For those with fast broadband I appreciate this isn't much of a problem, but for those of us with slow speeds (my best is 2mb!) it becaome a rain pain in the ass having to download, then eventually join in with only a few minutes of that map left, the await the next download and so on, it feels for ever! As I post this I am again running downloader, after only running it last Sunday, and yet dozens more new maps now downloading, this will take me about 3-4 hours when I really would love to be in game, and yes getting the shit kicked out of me, but what the hell, still good fun!

Well I took a chance and downloaded the updates for Realtek, then rather than uninstalling etc tried it out, no issues at all, so now I have at long last got my XI downloader to work, plus no iw3 errors any more, mind you hasn't improved my game performance
