if u read my post sailors were the bait like i said some people need to read history when men spend all there working ours at sea making a living either from piracy or just sailing around the world looking for new lands or in old terms the new world story's of mermaids came to light in there story at sea and many men lost there lives to the sea and one thing keeps popping up like the fact they were taking down by sirens aka mermaids or in american history they were called sea witches and here any one no who Edward teach was this is for the haters who dont read shit about history Blackbeard -Pirate even though he was not the most successful the feared and hated sea robber legendary Blackbeard is probably not only the most famous pirate of the Caribbean but also most famous pirate captain of all time as a notorious figure and a villain he has been the main subject of many stories books and movies in modern times in appearance he was most notable and terrifying because of the long black beard which covered almost his whole face for amusement he used to separate it into the tails each one tied with a differently colored ribbon speaking of his image teach was always wearing a sling with three pairs of pistils strung across his breast in addition to cutlass and few knives in his belt an opposing crew often surrendered only by a sight of this seafaring pirate when he left England and took passage to the Caribbean and he tells a story of one night in a storm he came across an island full of what he called sirens and he says in his book they were singing to his crew and they pulled his men to there deaths by enchanting them with there song and only 50 of his men lived to tell the tale there is more but like i said im a history buff i love history and its interesting what most people have no idea about there history

Well ur on to a different subject but i no what your talking about they used sound technology to build all the pyramids all over the world just look it up One of the existing theories for the building of pyramids and other megalithic monuments is that sonic levitation was used, which means instruments that could levitate heavy objects and make them easier to move. More recent stories include techniques that are used in some areas in Tibet where, with the help of drums and trumpets, they can levitate large stones on the slopes of mountains and move them wherever is needed for building walls. Dr Jarl has provided a detailed description and drawings of this process – allegedly he even filmed the event.A similar process was suggested to have been used for building the coral castle in the US , another controversial and relatively recent event. The coral castle is a stone structure that was built by the Latvian American Edward Leedskalnin, who said that he had discovered the techniques that Egyptians used to build the pyramids, techniques related to levitation/antigravity technologies. He never revealed his secrets. It took him 28 years to build the castle from about 1923 to 1951and refused to allow anyone to view him while he worked. He did the castle completely on his own carving more than 1,000 tons of rock. Although nobody heard any sounds from him building, if he used sonic levitation it doesn’t mean that the sonic levitation methods used sound waves audible to humans.Abul Hasan Ali Al-Masudi, an Arab historian, has written about Egypt and he mentioned the way that Egyptians used to move stones , referring to a magic papyrus that was placed under the stone and then the stone was struck with a metal rod causing the stone to levitate and move along an area paved with stones and a fenced path with metal poles on both sides of the path. This sounds like metal poles used to vibrate creating frequencies in such a way that they would create a moving path for the stones. A few years ago sonic drilling was demonstrated by NASA as a means to be used for mining material from rocks and other hard materials in space missions. However, today researchers have managed to use sound waves to levitate and move tiny particles precisely and liquid droplets. Multiple vibrating plates are used to create different frequencies and move an acoustic field with the particles trapped in it. Comparing to what was previously mentioned from the Tibetan monks and Edward Leedskalnin, this scientific demonstration looks primitive, but it is a step that shows that sonic levitation can be used and will improve as more scientific research will be done. And if it can be done for droplets it will for sure be done for larger objects in the future. -
funny u mention cern they have blown open a portal and allowing dark particals through into our realm which in turn allows portals to manifest and that causes major earth quakes and thats a certain last one caused a 7.3 and not to mention the fact every time they turn the dam thing on sink hols start appearing every were like i mean a hole house disappears under ground and major industrial ares as well like in manhatten

Whether you believe in paranormal activity or not, the scene that apparently greeted officers on a house call in Glasgow does sound a little odd to say the least. CLOTHES FLYING AROUND, FLICKERING LIGHTS, AN UPSIDE DOWN LAMPSHADE Police on a call out to a property in Rutherglen witnessed clothes flying around, flickering lights, an upside down lampshade and an opening and closing oven, according to a Daily Record source. But as if that wasn’t strange enough, a chihuahua that was playing in the garden inexplicably made it on top of a 7ft hedge.Officers were called to the property by the family living there who the website said were panicked with what was going on. Apparently the activity carried on for two days, with Police Scotland confirming it visited the property on both August 8 and 9. The family has since gone to stay with relatives, while a Catholic priest has provided a ‘blessing’. The source told the website that the incidents were ‘not easily explained’. The said: ‘The officers attended expecting it to be a mental health issue but they witnessed the lights going off, clothes flying across the room and the dog sitting on top of the hedge. ‘The officers called their superiors who also attended thinking the cops were perhaps being a bit silly but it’s being taken very seriously. ‘The fact it was witnessed by our officers has lent itself to a very different but active inquiry.’ The Record later spoke to a demonologist Jason Love who suggested the poltergeist could have been feeding off the energy of prepubescent teens. It is understood the police are working with doctors and social services to provide support. Metro.co.uk approached the local Catholic church but have not yet received a response ( via metro.co.uk ). A spokesman for Police Scotland said:’On 8 and 9 August police attended a house in Rutherglen to reports of a disturbance. No evidence of criminality was found and advice and guidance was given to the family.’ Image: Getty Images

She was a fertility goddess whose cult eventually spread to Greece and Rome and was associated with water (especially lakes) and fish. Often depicted in mermaid form, Atargatis is perhaps the “original” mermaid. Legend has it that she dove into a lake to become a fish, but only her bottom half was transformed. Before anyone dreamed of a mermaid, the “merman” was front and center. The Babylonian god Oannes predates the Syrian mermaid Atargatis by several thousand years. Apparently he had both a fish body and a human body. His human form was beneath his fish form, which allowed him to live among men, as well as in the sea. In Old English, “mer” means “sea,” and “maid” simply meant woman. Mermaids are therefore “women of the sea.” Following this line of etymological logic, a “mer” man (merman) would be a “man of the sea.” Both names make perfect sense and describe their natural habitat without a lot of fuss. Mermaids and mermen are fish-like people who swim through the oceans and the seas In some of the legends of the Pacific Islands, it is said that human beings are descended from both mermaids and mermen. It seems somewhere back in time, their tails somehow dropped off, and people were magically able to walk on land. A good example of this is the creator god Vatea, who was usually depicted as being half-human and half-fish. Hans Christian Andersen based the mermaids in his tale, ‘The Little Mermaid,’ on Scandinavian mermaids called the Havfine. These northern merfolk were able to live in both freshwater and saltwater. They were also supposed to be fairly temperamental, and have the ability to foretell the future. If a human being ever caught sight of one, it was considered a bad omen. Oddly he makes no mention of crabs singing reggae music. As a general rule, Mermaids usually meant trouble to the people of Europe, and fishermen and sailors in particular. The presence of these odd creatures could mean a terrible storm was a-brewin’ at sea, or that your luck was about to change from good to bad, or that you were about to be taken down to the bottom of the sea to die. When European sailors first made it to the Caribbean, they encountered an unknown creature that looked like a mermaid from the waist down. From the midsection up, they look more like cows. When sailors would spot them at night, perhaps in the moonlight, many thought they were gazing upon mermaids. If they happened to see them during the day, the sailors would totally pretend that they never thought the manatee was hot and that they knew it was a busted-up merman all along

NVIDIA GTX 1060 OFFERS DECENT COMPETITION FOR RX 480
FLDMARSHAL posted a topic in General Discussion
Although AMD's recently released RX480 might have given a lot of people a great card at a decent price point, it didn't take Nvidia long to come up with its alternative: the GTX 1060. Although it lacks the power of its bigger brothers the GTX 1070 and 1080, the RX 480 is still a strong contender, beating out the RX 480 4GB in most tests and even the 8GB version in some. This puts its performance somewhere between a GTX 1070 and an AMD R9 390, which isn't a bad spot to find itself. As you might expect, this being an Nvidia part, it is more expensive though. You can expect to spend a little more. It's $250 for the stock version, or $300 for the pretty redundant Founders Edition. That latter price tag makes it a full 50 percent more than the RX 480 4GB and not quite as value-for-money orientated, but the $250 mark is just a little more than the 8GB RX 480 and is much more competitive. The new GTX 1060 also supports features like Ansel, Simultaneous Multi-Projection, and Nvidia's VR Works, which are nice additions. However it does lack much in the way of cooling options right now and there's no SLI port to speak of, so don't expect to put two of these together in the same fashion as AMD is suggesting is a good move with its new generation hardware. Do any of these newly released GPUs tempt you into buying? -
Free games are always welcome! And Ubisoft is celebrating its 30's birthday by giving away 7 AAA PC games. Ubisoft is releasing one PC game for free each month from June to December 2016. Last month, the company free Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and this month it is liberating the original Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell. You can grab your free copy from Ubisoft Club. You'll have to create a Uplay account and download the game before the end of July.

Nvidia has settled a number of lawsuits for false advertising, which accused the graphics card maker of selling the last-generation GTX 970 as a card with 4GB of video memory, which in actuality it only had 3.5GB of accessible VRAM. Although we don't know what the final settlement figure will be, we do know that if you purchased a GTX 970 you should be applicable for a $30 pay out by Nvidia. No word yet on how to claim that money, but we expect details to come out in the next few days. Chances are you will need to have purchased it before the news of the RAM issue came to light, but that may not be the case. What is known for sure though, is that Nvidia will be paying out a lot to its customers, as well as $1.3 million in legal fees to all of those who brought lawsuits against it and had to pay for legal fees to make the case. Ultimately Nvidia admitted that it did miss sell the graphics cards as 4GB versions, when in actuality only 3.5GB was accessible. However it did not admit this as a deliberate deception and instead described it as a miss-communication between its engineering and marketing departments. Considering the technical nature of graphics card technology and an ever ongoing push to sell hardware based on bigger and bigger numbers, you can see how that might happen. But it's no excuse to hoodwink consumers, so it's good to see those who may have been negatively affected will get some recompense.

August 3, 2016 - 2:52am Nvidia's GTX 1080 showed that it wasn't playing games with the new generation of Pascal cards, with huge, Maxwell Titan beating performance and a power draw that was equally impressive. However it didn't stop there, now there's a new king of the jungle. Nvidia's GTX Titan X with a Pascal core is one of the most powerful single GPU cards it's ever produced. It offers 3,584 CUDA cores, paired up with 12GB of GDDR5X memory. This lets it output as much as 11 teraflops of computing performance, more than two teraflops more than the GTX 1080 and almost twice that of the GTX 1070. Power draw isn't crazy though, still sitting at 250w.To get hold of one of these you will need to put down $1,200, which may seem like a lot, but you can essentially think of the Titan X as a cheap workstation card. Although expensive in its own right, compared to the Quadro cards Nvidia has shown off in recent weeks, it's a bargain. Those cards can cost as much as $4,000, while AMD's newly announced Radeon Pro Duo SSG with 1TB of on board SSD storage, costs as much as $10,000. With that in mind, gaming benchmarks aren't particularly useful since the target market for such a card is unbelievably small. We will probably see a more powerful GTX 1080Ti show up in the coming months anyway, though that card will still be an expensive one. Do you know anyone who might consider fitting a Titan X in their PC?

July 31, 2016 - 11:15pm Epic co-founder Tim Sweeney hasn't shied away from calling out Microsoft's Universal Windows Platform (UWP) as a direct threat to the PC's ecosystem. In March, Sweeney warned that Microsoft would probably throttle traditional Win 32 applications on Windows 10 in order to force users to use UWP applications. Universal Windows Platform is designed to allow developers to write applications that run seamlessly on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile without the need to maintain 2 different versions of the code. Using UWP also allows game developers to take advantage of features such as Universal Play. On the other side, UWP has been criticized for introducing unnecessary technical limitations such as the inability to disable vsync and incompatibility with multiple graphic cards setups in addition to disallowing game modding and blocking programs such as Fraps and Steam Overlay. And to top it off, UWP applications can only be installed from the Windows Store unless the user fumbles with his Windows settings. In an interview with Edge Magazine, Sweeney exclaimed that Microsoft's sinister plan to take away the PC ecosystem's freedom is already progressing slowly with the aim of killing Steam gradually over the next 5 years. "Slowly, over the next five years, [Microsoft] will force-patch Windows 10 to make Steam progressively worse and more broken," he claimed. "They'll never completely break it, but will continue to break it until, in five years, people are so fed up that Steam is buggy that the Windows Store seems like an ideal alternative." "That's exactly what they did to their previous competitors in other areas. Now they're doing it to Steam. It's only just starting to become visible. Microsoft might not be competent enough to succeed with their plan, but they're certainly trying." Sweeney believes that once all developers have switched to UWP, it would be trivial for Microsoft to disable the option to install them away from the Windows Store, effectively turning Windows PC into a closed platform. "It won't be that one day they flip a switch that will break your Steam library - what they're trying to do is a series of sneaky maneuvers. They make it more and more inconvenient to use the old apps, and, simultaneously, they try to become the only source for the new ones." Microsoft issued the following statement in response to Sweeney's criticism: "Tim is a respected figure in the gaming world, and we value his feedback. The Universal Windows Platform is a fully open ecosystem that is available to every developer, and can be supported by any store. It's early, and we recognise there is still work to be done, but we want to make Windows the best development platform regardless of technologies used."

August 5, 2016 - 3:37am A Chinese man drove his brother's car through Nexon's head office as a form of drunken protest for ruining his life with its addictive free-to-play games. The Korea Herald reports that the 33 years old Chinese Lee was visiting his brother in Korea when he got drunk, took his brother's car and slammed it into Nexon headquarters' glassy entrance. The company's glass door was shattered but no other casualties were reported. Nexon is one of the world's largest publishers and developers of free-to-play PC and mobile online games. The company is known for games such as MapleStory, Elsword and Combat Arms. Lee admitted to his wrongdoing, explaining that he had been angry for not being able to escape his Nexon games' addiction and that he acted on impulse while being drunk. Lee's blood alcohol level was well above the legal limit when he was tested. Moreover, he doesn't have a valid driver license. At the time the story was published by The Korea Herald, the Gyeonggi Bundang Police was still preparing the guy's arrest warrant.

August 8, 2016 - 11:33pm The Internet Archive has added more than 10,000 Commodore Amiga games to its Software Library Project, allowing everybody to play them freely through the browser. More specifically, the Amiga Collection contains 10,357 games including title such as Batman: The Movie, R Type, Alien Breed, Space Ace, Lemmings and Xenon 2 from famous studios such as Sierra, Team 17, Psygnosis, Ocean and Bitmap Brothers. Most of the game are playable directly in the browser. The Internet Archive team is updating the html 5 emulator to be able to play all games, but you can always download the adf files and play them in an emulator such as WinUAE. Internet Archive's Online Software Library project aims to preserve humanity's digital heritage. It already hosts more than 150,000 pieces of software in addition to more than 3,000,000 audio files and more than 2,600,000 video files. A few months ago, the project liberated a few thousand MS-DOS programs and hundreds of arcade games. lol let the good times roll
