Recently I cannot play on the COD2 DM server.  The splash screen for the map shows up, then goes to a black screen and stays there.  I can play Area 51, and TDM, and anywhere else out there.  I have tried to play in safe mode to no avail.  I have also deleted the XIDM1 folder.  This has not resolved either.  I have restarted my PC also.  I have made no changes to my system.

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP 1

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 x 2 Dual Core processor 4200+  2.20 GHz

2 GB RAM

Video: ATI Radeon X1600  512 Mb RAM

Any ideas are welcome, even if they come from Idiots.  Laughing

Is it a stock server? If not re-download the mod or anything related to it.

Yes it does Bart , the strange thing is that he can play other games but not cod2 dm specifically...

I do understand that the rest off the game is running, so ithink , and this happened to me once before, I think that it is prperbly a iwd error.

The best thing you can try is to go to the main dir of cod2    C or D orwath C:\progam files\activision\cod2\main

And delete ALL iwd-files , and start the server, he will download all files that you need then.

And check the drive where you installed the game on, check also your tempdir and temerary internetfiles dir,

If that not works , di-install the game and then re-install the game.

I myself , run it under windows 7 , didn't had to make any chainges, i installed it , the game started to download the iwd files it needed

And i could play. Only when i download from other servers, i could get a iwd-problem when i go back to XI servers, but i think you no how that works.

Greetzz from a dutch idiot,  Albert

Thank you for all of the suggestions.  I have resolved this by deleting the IWD files modified in the last week since it started a few days ago.  I was then able to get back into COD2 DM server.   Now everyone's score will go back up when I start playing again.Cool
