Trying to transfer some stuff from DVD to my computer and I guess they degraded on me with parts unreadable. Makes me mad because they are supposed to be a good brand, fuji I think, and not really that old. Maybe 3-4 years. Also they were well taken care off in a dvd binder, hardly ever used, and never exposed to sunlight. The ones that didnt work so far are no big loss since they were some anime videos I wanted to watch but it bugs me that I was so careful and they dont work anymore. However some important stuff did use the same batch of dvds and I am going to have to find them all and transfer them while I still can. I guess the only semi-reliable long term storage is an hdd kept in a safe place. I have some even older cdrs, 10+ years, that still work fine. Those arent important either but I keep them anyways as backups. Going to keep these anyways because it is always possible, though very unlikely, that another reader might be able to retrieve the data. Awards
