One time I had the mic and headphone jack round the wrong way, obviously the mic didn't work but I could still hear sound which was weird lol. Anyhow your up and working again so all good.

First of all is your headset a usb type or usb/aux jack type? I ask this because in the usb/aux type one of the aux jacks is responsible for the mic. If the female connector in your pc is broke the mic signal will not work. Secondly, swapping headsets can restore your settings to default and your pc may not recognise the mic in your headset as the default signal to use for voice input. Go into sound options, settings, and make sure your headset is the default for both speakers and the mic. Also make sure that the mute check box is not ticked in sound options as well. Because you have said you tried a new and used set then that rules out broken mic itself. If it's a new machine then that pretty much rules out broken female jack. I say defaults are whack. Let me know how you get on.

Xfire requirement is primarily for being able to get hold of admins @@PX-Mutt and also to become a member of our xfire community if you wanted to. Previous to becoming Admin I would mostly leave it off, now I always run it as I'm required to. It's like TS, you are required to have it but not obligated to use it allot of people don't run xfire so they get better performance on a low end pc that running one less app helps to not bog the machine down. But all that aside if you want to leave that's your thing, not everyone will agree but that's what happens I guess. All the best in what ever you do Mutt see you round the place sometime. Basically mutts leaving because he doesn't like how we do things around here...should of figured that out in the time before he got his tags... But in any case he is leaving because nothing's changed, he hates freeze tag, Spawn killing and peoples attitudes. Sensitive feelings were not left at the door.

care packages and cars are called by pressing 6 on your keyboard. To use a sentry gun/nade you need to assign a key to "drop object" in the multiplayer options. Let me know if this sorts you out

It used to be hard work to get your tags, now these days it's much easier that's why people have no problem throwing them away at a whim. I've always said that, easy come easy go. Think about it Mutt, you have no obligation apart from logging into the website once a month to keep your tags active, that ain't hard.
