I figured it's new info belonging here! Dunno if it's true or not...kinda weird. Drink Dew, Eat Doritos, Get Double XP in MW3 Reedem Codes for XP bonus time Written by litepink on 27 September 11 at 04:58 | Credit to Hustlinonradio, Avata Activision is partnering with Mountain Dew Game Fuel and Doritos for a unique promotion for Modern Warfare 3. Codes can be obtained from specially marked packages of Game Fuel and Doritos, then entered at the DewXP website between October 11th and December 31st. Although the DewXP site only has a teaser page up for now, we can munch on all the tasty details found in a summary of the Official Rules located below. Codes can be obtained in a variety of Mountain Dew Game Fuel products, with each producing a different amount XP time. Mountain Dew Game Fuel 20 oz bottles = 15 minutes XP time 12-Packs = 45 minutes XP time Wal-Mart 20-Packs = 90 minutes XP time 32/44 oz fountain cups = 15 minutes XP time Combine any Game Fuel purchase with a Doritos purchase and earn 15 minutes of weekly bonus time (limit one bonus per week). The Official Rules also detail "Combat Cards" for a one time bonus of 15 minutes if you collect one set or 90 minutes if you collect all three sets of cards. We don't know what these cards are or where to get them at this time. There is some restriction on the total XP time you can earn. The maximum amount of time is 24 hours. That equates to 96 bottles, or perhaps 16 of the Wal-Mart packs. The Doritos bonus and Combat Cards should help reaching that one day maximum easier (or perhaps some dumpster diving). Besides the double XP, each code puts you into a sweepstakes for various Call of Duty themed prizes like limited edition consoles, Elite memberships, a Jeep, and more. Total prizes are valued at over $150,000. You can check out the DewXP site's official rules for full prize details. Say what you want about Modern Warfare 3 or Activision, but this seems like a fun promotion to me. They aren't forcing you to buy soda or chips by any means. This might not be your products of choice, but tons of people eat and drink this stuff anyways. Getting double XP in a videogame and getting a chance at prizes is an added bonus. Make sure to brush your teeth often though! Remember that codes can be entered starting October 11th so you can prep for the release of Modern Warfare 3 on November 8th.

Mr-Turkey Obviously I am not a member Mofo, but I have been around on idiots for a fair while now. Just saw this thread and thought I might as well tell you I am getting the game 100% Played the beta a fair bit and loving it Cheers Paul. Well, we'll turn BF3 into a turkey shoot!!! lol I'll add you anyway, as a registered user...NP! I played the BETA for a good 3-4 hours tonight and had a good time! We managed to get me, Ukildme, comfort, S.t.a.l.k.e.r , Cobryis & St33L on the same server...

Digitalstorm seems pretty high-end! The whole thing is that when you purchase from a place like Microcenter (or equivalent), you can get MORE for your $$$ compared to a pre-built...

Good intro dude!
-
Ouch, The whole "CPU socket bent pins" situation....

I actually played this morning, and the gameplay was more fluid, and also the server browser was a little more functional. I'm lucky to be able to run at a mix of HIGH and ULTRA settings and get FPS of in between 80 and 125 depending if I'm outside or inside... I really like the hit registration accuracy. I can't wait to try the hardcore mode!!! It will be DEADLY!!!!

St33l If you pre order you get the back to karkand expansion for free. http://www.battlefield.com/battlefield3/blog/bf3-pre-order ST33L speaks wisely! Anyhow Murlock, you're on the list!!!!!!!!!!! -Back to Karkand expansion+ also that physical warfare pack with a few gizmos: TYPE 88 LIGHT MACHINE GUN Exclusive weapon The Type 88 is a gas-powered, air-cooled light machine gun that comes equipped with a bipod for maximum stability. Setting the bipod up on a suitable surface gives a major boost in accuracy and recoil reduction. With the Type 88, you will completely deny the enemy entry to your area of control. DAO-12 shotgun Day 1 unlock It isn’t hard to see why the powerful DAO-12 was a big fan favorite in Battlefield 2. Being a highly versatile semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun, the DAO-12 can carry 4 types of ammo in a high capacity 12-round magazine. For close encounters, you wouldn’t want to carry any other weapon, and with the Physical Warfare Pack, you unlock it from day 1 in Battlefield 3. Flechette ammo for the DAO-12 shotgun Exclusive ammo This exclusive armor-piercing ammo makes your DAO-12 shotgun pack an added punch. Each flechette cartridge holds a number of 1-inch tungsten arrows that willtear through any material, be it metal, wood, or enemies. If you turn a corner and meet three soldiers from the opposing force, these are the rounds you want loaded in your DAO-12. FLASH SUPPRESSOR FOR SKS SNIPER RIFLE Exclusive weapon mod This exclusive item is the only sniper rifle flash suppressor in the game. Attaching it to the fast-firing and high capacity SKS rifle turns you into a highly agile and versatile Recon member. For the true team-play Recon who wants to contribute at the front while staying stealthy, this weapon mod is an essential upgrade. All of this amazing content is available at no extra charge to gamers who pre-order the Battlefield 3 Limited Edition: Physical Warfare Pack

Pricing is good on that one! ASUS three year warranty and their service center in Markham makes it a good choice too! You buying?

The Czech im having trouble installing the game. on origin i downloaded it and i says "ready to install" when i click that it says installing for a second and then goes back to "ready to install"? im a little confused Sorry to hear that! It worked fine for me. That being said, there is a few things missing from the BETA. Can't wait to see what the final product is gonna be! For now, I can't seem to be able to assign mouse buttons to the game...and as of now, there is no accessible mp.config file or something...anyway we'll see when we get there!

Agreed! WEB-BASED = POOP (I mean WHY?) On a good note, my rig runs the game by default on high everything at 1680 X 1050 on my 22" LCD, and I'm getting from 110 to 150 FPS AVG....both cards running at 63 degrees celsius. Videoram usage is high...850 to 950 megs.... I got 1GB cards, so 1024 mo available...close call!!!!

Alright! Got the BETA installed and managed to play a little: This is my early take on it! Pros: -hit registration is good, enemies are dropping fast! -good graphics -BF3 supports punkbuster (PBBANS will work)! Cons: -Its a BETA, so there is glitches (yup, I'm playing Captain Obvious lolz) -Don't like the web-based game browser (that makes IE 9 pop up) POOP -it seems a PITA to setup your keys in the first place... -Some of my mouse buttons weren't recognized (thumb buttons)...will look into it! I'll play some more and report back!
-
The BETA is now free to download on ORIGIN from today Sept. 29th!!! Just install ORIGIN, go into the FREE games section....BF3 BETA will show...nice! DL ing right now!!! BATTLEFIELD 3 Teamspeak 3 Channel has been created, courtesy of RICKJAMES >XI< !!!!!!! Thanks Rick

Gump That Sapphire 6950 cannot be flashed to a 6970.It is the Antilles chip and not the Cayman so cannot unlock disabled shaders. Gump, Are you trying BF3 BETA? On the HD6000-series topic, to be technically correct, ANTILLES is the code name for dual caymans on a single PCB...this the Radeon HD6990 dual-GPU. 6970 = Cayman XT 6950 = Cayman PRO

RD CplMOFO Nice! BTW, I added you to the list of BF3 owners... For the 6950s, dunno what you think about the MSI cards (twin frozr II cooler design), but this is what I have(I got nVIDIA cards, 560Ti in SLI, but with the same cooler available to the hd6950) here and the cooler is VERY effective!!! Of course, if dumps heat into the case, so you need good case airflow.... The ASUS directCuII (triple slot biatch tho...) is also a good version of the 6950.... You know you can flash that 6950 to 6970 specs really easy. I got one and its blazing fast.....To bad I dont have the skillz to take advantage of the speed from that or my 6 core RD, Two things! For skillz, we can offer advices! 1-To flash a 6950 to 6970 specs (like you said), you have to have one of the "flashable card" first...also be CAREFUL of what you do...you want to unlock the SHADERS....it's the safe thing to do, the 100% total unlock also cranks up memory clocks and voltages I thing and led to INSTABILITY... You want to do the SHADER flashing thing ONLY...if the card has the flash switch.. for the CPU overclock, well, you startby making sure your motherboard is "overclocking-friendly", then you buy a good cooler that cools an overclocked 6-core efficiently....you install and then you OC (after reading on it). I'm an Intel overclocker, never fiddled with AMD CPU overclocks....

CHKN cant find any XI platoon or Xtreme or idiots ... ??? CHKN, I guess you need to get in touch with COBRYis_XI for that, he created it!
-
CHKN, I added you on the list of XI members either buying or already purchased the game! Ukildme: Nice review! I like the pros vs cons layout! cons: Seems like glitchy (hole on maps, connection situations) Pro: Nice to see that they fixed hit registration! Can't wait!!!!

Sonovabich Maybe we will run out of slots quickly only having 32, but that was'nt the case with BFBC2 where we strangely (i thought anyway) could'nt get many in the server at all, so we are just erring on the cautious side at the moment Well said Sonova! RD: If you run out of slots because the 32-slots overflows with too many >XI< members, we'll do something about it! If BF3 gets more attention and support from >XI< members than BFBC2 did, that would be a good start! At $1.29 a slot X 64, a 64-slot costs $82 dollars a month! Gotta be careful and see if it's REALLY worth it to do! On top of that, wait and see how the 64-slots servers "behave", when you fill them with 64 players, jets and choppers flying, multiple ground vehicle moving around all on those big maps, with player with different PING levels!!! If it lags or stutter for many of our members (for whatever reason), if our fellow >XI< members from UK or NL (with different pings) are having issues playing on let's say a server based in the US, well, we'll have to do something about it. Let the official release of the game to come out and a good month to see how it goes...until then everything is SPECULATIONS!!!
