Cobryis_XI I think we need 64 slots ¯\_(?)_/¯ But actually. Yes, I really, honestly think that our server would kick ass with 64 slots. Cobryis_XI, I hear you. Can you test 64-slots servers on the BETA? I strongly think that eventually, IF everything is fine, we'll probably run a 64-slots server. That depends on the performance in the 64-slots servers and gameplay positive experience....But if half the guys are having trouble with the game and QUIT playing after a few weeks...WELL, we'll dig our own grave.... BUT, BUT, BUT...XI servers are obviously provided for XI members in priority and contributers $$$...no sense forking for a 64 slots if we can't gather more than a few members at once...remember we shut down servers that weren't being used enough...or servers that were often populated and popular, but NOT by more than a few XI.... WE, as clan members, can contribute to BF3 success and support (if enough people like it, and if the game is running fine for us)...it's gonna be a team effort to create the momentum and to POPULATE the server enough to warrant the increase from 32 slots to 64 (eventually)....it's OUR show... I guess it all comes down to common sense and resource management...

JohnnyDos I'm DL'ing it now to give it a try.Gonna take about 20 min. Then I'll check it out.Problem might be my video card. They recomend at least a 6850 ATI.I only have a 5770.Shit now I got to spend more $$$$$. Johnny, do you have the option to Crossfire that 5770? That might be the cheapest way to upgrade. They sell for around $119 NEW...or you could grab a second-hand one! For the price AMD partners asks for the HD6950 2GB, I think it's really one of the best upgrades on the AMD side of the house...the 2 GB of memory makes the 6950 2GB a good mid term solution that can last you quite long...they also offer 1GB cards, but the price diff between 2GB and 1GB makes it a non -issue... Newegg.com got HD6950 2GB cards stating at $259... Anyhow, BF3 will offer so many graphics settings that you will be able to TWEAK the settings to play the game at medium details ! If you disable HBAO, shadows and motion blur....

BATTLEFIELD 3 TOPIC INFO TRAILERS
CplMOFO replied to CplMOFO's topic in Battlefield 3's Battlefield 3 Discussion
Nice video from Caspian Border! It's got different gameplay, not often seen in most BF3 videos at this point!!! -
http://www.xtremeidiots.com/fora_topic.asp?tid=20623 There you are added Nutz! 34 XI members and one registered user! Enjoy the BETA! No doubts it's a little glitchy..but DICE is monitoring closely...they really want this to work, and they listen to a lot of stuff from the community.. The BETA is out exactly for that purpose, to test, trial and evaluate...and fix the eventual bugs... Videocard Drivers (from both nVIDIA and AMD/ATI) supporting the game are already out, but they're BETA drivers also... All in all, it will fall into place after a little while!

Yes Son, this is the plan! And we have to "test" on other servers, how nice (or laggy) it might be to play on a full 64-slots server...This is a vital stat. Some of our members with older rigs MIGHT have issues with having 64 players mayhem displayed on screen. Also, as not every XI member plays at the very same time as the others, it makes sense to "test" with 32 players capability, to see how many of us can be gathered on the battlefield at once!!! If the game takes off nicely, and we're successful in managing to populate our server, we'll see from there!!!
-
The purpose is: Determine the amount of slots we should get for the first server ... It happened that our fearless leader, Rugger, was really interested in knowing how many people were interested! ST33L, do you want to be added to our stats? There is a lot of factors involved in getting a BF3 server: 1- Cost/slot 2- behaviour of server 32 vs 64 slots...we don't know YET, how hard it is for a machine to play on a 64 slots server... (might be hard on some people's computer) 3- XI supported BC2, but people didn't stay and the clan removed the BC2 server.... As with every project, a "planning" phase is always a good way to start! Have a good day, CplMOFO

Early info on the BETA that came out today from pre-order lucky-bastards/idiots!!! http://vr-zone.com/articles/battlefield-3-beta--performance-preview-screenshots-and-hd-video-walkthrough/13625-2.html Interesting read!!!!!!! PUNKBUSTER support!!!! From VR-ZONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both nVIDIA and AMD issued updated preview drivers to support BF3. BF3 responds really well to dual-GPU configurations for SLI/Crossfire goodness... My test trial of the new nVIDIA driver for BF3 gave me a good 140 points in 3Dmarks11 (Pscore) for a total of 8537 from 8399...good driver!!! (it's still a preview driver that will be officialized in a WHQL revision later obviously)! -
Primal, MSI's warranty is 3 years, based on serial number. It's not lifetime. EVGA offers lifetime on the AR-suffix cards...like Boomer mentioned. Take Newegg's reviews with a grain of salt...there is a lot of noobs that blame hardware for issues that don't belong to the product. That being said, statistically, it helps a little to look at customer reviews, but read reviews from reputable sites: Hardwarecanucks HardOcp Overclock3D Techpowerup Techspot Hardwareheaven... artifacting is either a sign of an unstable overclock, or heat. On top of that, shyte happens... Warranty is the key! Cooling and a good power supply are also keys to happy graphics cards...

PrimalFear n/m I just found the answer indirectly over at overclock.net I'll post it just in case it's useful to somebody else Quote: The best piece of information anyone can give you about this topic is that buying a 560 non Ti at full price is literally like throwing away $50 compared to buying a 460. Edit - The 560 non Ti is a lower performance version of it's Ti counterpart. There's been many threads about the 560 non ti on here. Price to performance ratio wise you get more for your money if you buy a 460 or 560 Ti than you would with a 560 non ti at full price. Edit 2 - Then there's also the aspect that the high-end 560 Ti's offer close to 570 performance for significantly cheaper, but, as always, if you want 570 performance get a 570. Edit 3 - If you absolutely want to get as much performance as you can with your budget, look for open box 560 Ti's. Reference EDIT 3, EVGA online sells what they call B-Stock cards, 90 days warranty, and they have decent price also....another option!

You pretty much figured it our Primal! The regular 560 is just an overclocked 460....the 560Ti has MORE cores, textures units and polymorphs whatevers... Anyways, in benchmarks, there difference shows... Chart from HARDWARECANUCKS.COM On top of that, don't forget that a lot of 560Ti are running factory overclocked....mines are the MSI TwinFrozr II OC ones...they run at 880Mhz instead of 822MHz...it shows also... Also, OFTEN, the price of the 560 Ti cards (with rebates or promotions, sales) is lower or equal to 560 prices....another thing to consider.... Newegg.com got 3 MSI 560ti models available... -The 560Ti OC 1GB (like mines) $224 after MIR -The 560Ti OC WITH 2GB of MEMORY $269 -The 560TI HAWK 1GB (higher overclock and even better cooler, but a little noisier... $239 after rebates... Of other brands, ASUS (directcuII cooler is nice), of EVGA DS (the dual fan ones) are good contenders in the nVIDIA realm...

Sweatnbullets If you all would bother to READ the Gameinformer mag Review off this game you would find its the Same old SHit, as MW2, same engine, tired maps, just the same Product with a new Expensive Package. I would suggest you read the reviews, and consider BF 3 Most likely, you will realize that you are wasting your time on MW 3 Pc got 64 bit Win 7 in! Nice to see you got your rig working again!

Hans Sun Tzu I looked your mem up for the mobo and it is compatible. Here is a pic for the mobo mem configuration. Make sure your mem is in the appropriate slots. I sent the motherbord back I think it is not good :/ Can not get picture on the screen. Usually I picture when no memory card but the ride and just sits on the board with processor. Even when I put it in the memory bank 1a and 1b, he remains stuck on the memory and I get no picture. When I put a memory module 2b he walks through it, but he gives an error ide (light stays on the board) and he remains there hanging Tried everything and there's another who had to take a fresh look has looked. The booklets well taken and Internet consulting. What we noticed was the Internet that there is a lot of people were having problems with this type of board. Sun is right, you got the right memory...(it's fully compatible) but it's always better to buy the ram in PAIRS...it seems that you bought two individual sticks...(still should work, but it's not the prefered way)...dual-stick kits are certified to work in pairs... You issue could be with a bad board, or bad memory (we're talking manufacturing defect...DOA (dead on arrival)) Hans, This board, far from having lots of issues, is really popular. They sold so many of them, that it's statistically normal that there is more discussions on the forums about those...did you try to MEM-OK button to fire-up the board? It's a button that loads fail-safe RAM options...also, you can try XMP option in the BIOS, to set pre-programmed RAM timings... I own the P8P67 Deluxe and my RAM runs in slots 2 & 4. Ukildme has the P8P67 Pro (just like you) with the RAM in slots 1 & 3 and it works...(we use Gskill RIPJAWS X RAM tho) your stuff looks very nice, you'll be happy, once you figure it out and work out the kinks...

Hey Hans, Don't forget to take several pictures...and post them!!!! We wanna see!!!!
