Nobodygood>XI< I will stick with my 1090T for a bit, If I do anything for the next few months I might change my 6870 out for something else Wut about grabbing another 6870 for crossfire? SunTzu has that setup, maybe he can inform you on how it is for him.

Wizid is pointing you a suitable mobo with an nFORCE chipset, that would be your best bet to re-use your existing CPU/RAM and be able to use your dual nVIDIA cards.... AMD didn't really get into supporting SLI much, because they had to pay a fee on each mobo produced that were to support nvidia SLI..AMD was forced to buy nFORCE chips to alleviate that....that's why the only AMD mobo supporting SLI are the ones with nFORCE chipsets... 990FX is the first AMD chipset natively supporting SLI (it came out a few months ago)

Folks, Pardon my lack of knowledge of the "portable devices" such as smartphones and stuff, but I found this on some forums... You can change your ID by installing Android SDK on PC and then Installing "SCRABBLE FREE" by EA That way, you apparently can change your nickname, you your Origin "in-game" name reflects your ">XI< clan name. That way, we know who's who in the zoo!!!

SsgtChaz Damit I am going to have to get this game as well. Only step after purchase is divorce paperwork lol Well, IMHO, if you make her sign the paperwork before shit happens you'll gain a lot in flexibility LOL! Then you can add the "I, Ssgt Chaz, am entitled to keep all my computer devices, hardware and peripherials" clause in your divorce papers... Joking aside, real life comes first! Got to keep those 'ol ladies happy! If not, they whine and it cuts into our gaming time....lol But, BF3 seems really promising, and competition is good for the gamers, it force the studios/producers to work harder to compete!!! -

RD I cant wait. I'm getting the sweats at night now.LOL I really do like the teamplay and everyone on the squad has a purpose. Me and Mofo played in a squad the other day and we finished in the top 10 and really complimented each others game play. The lone wolf days are over in this game on ground support. I'm hoping that we can put squads together and compete within the clan on given weekends or such. I got me a G13 just for this if I can just figure it the hell out. TO MOFO........ You are doing a super job man in keeping us up to date on topics and info while in game as well. Dont want the others to take offense to that . Its just that I kinda made myself available to be playing when MoFo was online. look forward to squading up with you and exploring this new release Thx RD, Guess the idea is to keep everybody in the loop! Also, you're right about the team play....Battlefield is much different than COD on that matter, we'll have to work hard as a team, to get to communicate and stuff...dropping ammo, reviving teammates, installing a mobile spawn beacon behind enemy lines and stuff... some will become pilots, others will stick to their role...lots of possibilities! It's why BF is called a sandbox-type of game...you go where you want, to do what you want....promising! EA/DICE will SURELY play the DLC game a lot, so we'll have to expect some expansion packs.. The pre-order guys will have access to Back to karkand maps (extra 4) on top of the actual 9 maps, but those 4 maps will be released to the public for free later....that being said, to be fair to others how didn't pre-order, we'll run the 9 stock maps only, until Back to karkand is released to all... -

I've been lucky to grab CplMOFO_XI in Origin.... Like mentioned previously, the end product remains to be known...I read somewhere that there MIGHT be an opportunity to make ONE extra persona...if it's true, that might be the chance we have to "standardize" the name tags... I have to agree that if we look at our XI Platoon that St33L >XI< started, some Origin nicknames were far from any gamer names we're used to...

Today, EA released info on some multiplayer maps... From EA website (more to come): OPERATION FIRESTORM WORKING TITLE> OILFIELDS DICE INTERNAL DESIGNATION> MP012 SUPPORTED GAME MODES> ALL BRIEF> ALL-OUT DESERT WARFARE FICTION> U.S. AND RUSSIA LAUNCH LARGE-SCALE ASSAULTS TO CONTROL IRAN’S BIGGEST SOURCE OF OIL. SECURING THIS AREA WILL OFFER FULL CONTROL OF THE SECTOR AND ITS KEY FACILITIES. DESIGN THOUGHTS: One of our largest and most vehicle-friendly map, Operation Firestorm is the classic Battlefield gameplay taken to the extremes. Size-wise, and with some puzzle skills, you could actually place three Atacama Deserts -- one of the largest maps from Battlefield: Bad Company 2 -- within the playable area of Operation Firestorm. This is a wide-open desert map where the burning oil fields in one direction are contrasted by clear blue sky in the other direction. Construction sites dotting the area bring interesting possibilities for infantry to hide in elevated positions, spot vehicles, and take them down by mortar or RPG. OPERATION MÉTRO WORKING TITLE> METRO DICE INTERNAL DESIGNATION> MP015 SUPPORTED GAME MODES> ALL BRIEF> INFANTRY FOCUSED COMBAT IN SUBWAY FICTION> HEAVY FIGHTING IS EXPECTED AS U.S. FORCES PUSH TO SECURE THE FINANCIAL DISTRICT IN CENTRAL PARIS. RUSSIAN ANTI-AIR EMPLACEMENTS IN CHARDONNAY PARK ARE LIKELY TO BE THE FIRST TARGET. DESIGN THOUGHTS: Operation Métro is the map from E3 and the Open Beta, so some of you are familiar with it already. It is a map that perfectly illustrates that we want to take our players on a journey. Especially in Rush, you can see how Operation Métro is almost three maps within one: You start out in a lush park, then move into a bombed-out section of the subway tunnels, to finally emerge in a dense urban environment outside the Paris stock exchange. It’s a map that asks you to constantly adapt your class and load out for the diverse situations you will find yourself in. TEHRAN HIGHWAY WORKING TITLE> HIGHWAY DICE INTERNAL DESIGNATION> MP003 SUPPORTED GAME MODES> ALL BRIEF> INFANTRY FIGHTING IN TIGHT CITY STREETS FICTION> A FIGHT FOR CONTROL OF ACCESS ROUTES NEAR TEHRAN. U.S. FORCES MAKE A PUSH FROM THE HILLS UNDER COVER OF DARKNESS WHILE RUSSIANS HAVE SET UP DEFENSIVE POSITIONS ALONG THE MAIN ENTRANCE POINTS. DESIGN THOUGHTS: One of the inspirations for this map was a photo of a night time skyline of Tehran which now is basically the same vista that is available in the game. You start up on the hills above the city outskirts and eventually work your way into town. This atmospheric night-time map, where you can see rockets lighting up the sky, has a balanced mix between vehicle and infantry focus. It plays length-wise and starts semi-open with plenty of room for vehicles, but ends on a much more urban and tight note with less focus on vehicles and more on infantry. DAMAVAND PEAK WORKING TITLE> BASEJUMP DICE INTERNAL DESIGNATION> MP013 SUPPORTED GAME MODES> ALL BRIEF> FIGHTING IN WINTER MOUNTAINS FICTION> A RUGGED MOUNTAIN AREA PLAYS A MAJOR ROLE IN DECIDING WHETHER RUSSIAN OR U.S. TROOPS ARE SUCCESSFUL IN COMBAT OPERATIONS IN THE SECTOR, AS THE AREA IS HOME TO KEY RADAR INSTALLATIONS. DESIGN THOUGHTS: Damavand Peak, internally known as Base Jump, is built on the idea that we want players to be able to base jump, and features our most extreme height differences ever in a Battlefield map. Attackers in Rush and Squad Rush will start high up on a mountain ridge above a mining facility. The only way down into the valley is to somehow make the 500 meter descent. The further the attackers progress in the map, the more vehicle warfare will be present. There is also a large tunnel section dug into the mountain side at the bottom of the map, and the view when you look up at the starting location is spectacular. Come back tomorrow for the remaining five multiplayer map reveals. -

Masterlixx hmmmmmm intel i7 6 core $999 (The only 8 core price i found was a zeaon for $1390)- amd 8 core $320.. hmmmmmmmmm, gues that liitle bit of a performacne difference in some areas just aint worth the $$$$$ difference. LIXX, The Intel 6-cores are way overpriced, you're right....but the 2600K has proven to be a decent contender for that 6-cores...so nobody need to fork a grant for a CPU... That AMD 8-cores form $320 is alright, but in most scenarios, it performs on-par with the AMD 6-core 1100T that sells for $190.. To make a long story short, whether you settle for a Intel Sandy bridge (2500K/2600K), or a Bulldozer, you're on top of the game for most scenarios.... If you're strapped for cash, the AMD 1090T and 1100T are viable options....

There is the power draw in overclocked scenario... Please note that if you are not an overclocker, this CPU is perfectly decent! From VR-ZONE: Power Consumption The results are shockingly bad to say the least. On overclocked full load, the power usage of the slower FX-8150 was nearly TWICE that of the faster i7-2600K. We haven't seen such monstrous power usages except in some dual socket systems or extreme overclocking (which ours isn't). We redid the tests multiple times using different motherboards and power measuring equipment but the results were the same everytime. Using a multimeter, the 12v rail on the extra 8+4pin CPU connectors also measured a whopping ~23A. With overclocked power loads like these, its no wonder AMD has to ship a water cooling solution together with the chip. RD Well seems as though the industry standards are held by AMD for the fastest clock speed as of 9/11 http://www.eufuzz.com/technology/worlds-fastest-cpu-amd-gets-the-credit/ Right RD... The issue is...bulldozer draws a lot of power (when overclocked) for a 32nm CPU.....

Alright, for AMD processor lovers/supporters. the 8 cores AMD CPU, code named BULLDOZER (FX-8150) is finally out today, October 12th 2011..after a long wait and delays. It's a true number cruncher, but sadly, for a gamers point of view, it doesn't beat the Intel 2500K..... That being said, it's still fast, just not beating Intel...that's sad for AMD, they cannot seem to be able to reproduce the same momentum they gained in 2004 with their then famous Athlon 64!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/47155-amd-bulldozer-fx-8150-processor-review.html chart from Hardwarecanuck.com (FX-8150 against 2500K/2600K) The DIFF column is where it's at...the black numbers are where AMD is on top...the red numbers are the percentages of how much intel is on top I'm glad I didn't wait and got my 2500K early in April... That being said, AMD 8-core is a good CPU, but doesn't beat the Intel 4-cores 2500K...AMD priced their new CPU higher than 2500K... For aMD lovers, this new CPU is still a sexy beast in terms of number crunching, it's just too bad it doesn't crunch games better than intel... Basically, an older AMD 6-core 1100T is performing at pretty much the same level, and for $50 cheaper.... summary editorial from Techpowerup: Review Consensus: AMD FX Processor 8150 Underwhelming It's been in the works for over three years now. That's right, the first we heard of "Bulldozer" as a processor architecture under development was shortly after the launch of "Barcelona" K10 architecture. Granted, it wasn't possible to load close to 2 billion transistors on the silicon fab technology AMD had at the time, but AMD had a clear window over the last year to at least paper-launch the AMD FX. Delays and bad marketing may have cost AMD dearly in shaping up the product for the market. After drawing a consensus from about 25 reviews (links in Today's Reviews on the front page), it emerges that: AMD FX-8150 is missing its performance expectations by a fair margin. Not to mention performance gains in its own presentation, these expectations were built up by how AMD was shaping the product to be a full-fledged enthusiast product with significant performance gains over the previous generation AMD ill-marketed the FX-8150. Hype is a double-edged sword, and should not be used if you're not confident your offering will live up to at least most of the hype. AMD marketed at least the top-tier FX-8000 series eight-core processors as the second coming of Athlon64 FX. At the end of the day, graphics cards performance matters more than which MODERN CPUs you're using... So if you really wanna go with a new FX-8150 CPU from AMD, you'll still get really good performance if your graphics are up to the task..

Selling like hot cakes aren't they? The 2GB cards are the way of the future (they just came out on the nVIDIA side pretty much).... BF3 loads my 560Tis at 1005mb (out of 1024mo, or 1GB or vram if you prefer)....that on high settings at 1680 X 1050 resolution...that means I'm at the limit to fill the frame buffer to the max.... That's why, every cards sporting above 1GB of vRAM starts to become desirable....at 1080P, BF3 chews more than 1Gb of vram...with everything on high that is...
-
Well, there is a few nice 560Ti's out there! The PNY you pointed to is what it's called a "reference design"...the standard EVGA card is the exact same card... You have to pick a custom card to get something different than the reference stuff...better stuff, such as better fans/heatsink, Larsin suggested the MSI Twin frozr II card (he showed you a 2 GB card, those are sweet), but the regular 1GB card is cheaper, yet really decent. The MSI 560Ti HAWK is good, but a little noisy. The Asus DirectCu II 560TI is another contender. EVGA has a new twin fans design, the DS model..might be decent... I got two of the MSI TFII ones and I like them... BTW, as you were considering playing with 3D Vision, I highly doubt that a single 560Ti would put satisfactory FPS in 3D in a game such as BF3...just to let you know, so you don't get your expectations a little too high!
