http://www.techspot.com/news/45129-catalyst-118-delivers-20-performance-boost-in-black-ops-more.html Performance-wise, 11.8 grants Radeon HD 5000 and 6000 series owners a 10% boost when playing Crysis 2 in DirectX 11 with anti-aliasing enabled and disabled. You'll also get up to 8% more frames when running F.E.A.R. 3 with DX11 and AA enabled, up to 20% in Call of Duty: Black Ops for both single and multi-GPU configurations, and as much as 30% more performance when AMD's morphological anti-aliasing (MLAA) is enabled through the CCC. BTW, a 10% to 20% boost with a new driver is HUGE! ATI/AMD card owners, please try this and report back!!! I don't use ATI cards at the moment (well they're AMD cards nowadays), but a lot of our members do, so share the news!!!!!!!!

Next Gen Video will be an incredible advance
CplMOFO replied to HarryWeezer's topic in General Discussion
Nice find Harry! Now, What would be nice is IF that game engine developper manages to sell his stuff or to make a game out of it... Also, if they succeed, that would mean that our systems would run the games much faster (unless they counter balance with extra details, to the point where frequent upgrades would still be required). The problem with developing games is the high cost to produce them, and the manpower needed to make the game (usually 3-4 years development period) which translates into high cost.... Activision will still try to rape us all..... -
Wow, The earth is now turning in the opposite direction? I have respect for Dark Asylum's point of view. But Dark wasn't playing Blackops when the stock maps were the only thing we had.... To make the crouch server all stock maps is going against the grain...it's actually That discussion should take place in the admin portion of the forum...just like Suntzu was mentioning before....

DArk, To be fair, all those XI members who bought the game, like you say weren't all playing it.... The regulars bought the map pack....the others got disapointed about the game early-on and they never played. The game came out in November 2010. The first map pack came out on March 25th 2011....

This what I got.... 2 X MSI N560GTX Ti Twin frozr II in SLI I'm really satisfied... You can also consider the ASUS GTX560Ti DirectCuII, or the MSI N560GTX HAWK edition (noisier than TFII, but a little faster) EVGA DS superclocked is a nice one too...

Hey Chaz, Have a piece of cake!

For your old power supply, try to take a nice, close and CLEAR picture of the side sticker...we can go from there... For Power supplies, seek 80+ bronze or Silver certification, IDEALLY single-rail design, a good 750Watts to 850 Watts. You can get good ones for a decent price if you know what to look for... For graphics in DX11, how much are you really willing to pay? The GTX460 1GB (make sure it's the 1 gig version) for $169 on the EGG advice is a good one...the 550Ti is weaker than 460, so in reference with the asking price, your call. The regular 560 is basically an overclocked 460... I would try to grab a 560Ti or a HD6950 1GB (sometimes you ca find a 2GB card for a bout the price of a 1GB)....6870 is a little cheaper, but still a good decent card... You can try NEWEGG.COM's Open box deals, EVGA B-STOCK cards to save even more... EVGA B-STOCK (90-day only warranty) GTX460 1GB for $109!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (that's what I'd go for for graphics on the cheap) 01G-P3-1370-RX EVGA GTX1024mb FPB for $109 B-STOCK on EVGA's site.... You can get a EVGA560TI for $179 GTX570 for $249.... GTX560 for $149 GTX550TI for $99 GTX480 for $219 (fast but warm and power hungry) GTX470 for $159 (as fast as a 560ti but running warmer, and more power hungry)

Have a good one bomba!!!!!!!!!
-
I'd say: -We keep all the new maps -The server should be renamed XI Crouch New maps (or something along those lines) The reason for this: The people that will join will know, from the get go, that we're running all the maps, including the DLCs... It might be a good thing when I think about it..it might mean that CROUCH + NEW MAPS is something less common out there, which is nice for XI...offering a NICHE product is the best way to become more popular..... So I vote for a "no change" on map rotation...and a server name change/mod!!!!!!

The arrival of 3 Fresh Idiots, please Welcome Them
CplMOFO replied to X-RayXI's topic in User Announcements
Congrats folks! Have fun! -
Alright people, We got people in there most of the night, and no offenders yet...they'll show up eventually, but most players tha join a crouch are actual believers/supporters of that "genre", so it's second nature.. But yes, we'll have a runner once in a while...we'll deal with it. Thanks to Sun tzu for setting this up, map rotation, message center and all in a heartbeat!!!!!!!

Nightmare, your rig is pretty nice...I dig the Acceleros and the ENERMAX PSU, they look great On the XFX power supply side, no hurt done...it's when you research the particular models that you learn the truth.. My XFX 850 black ed. is in fact a rebranded SEASONIC 850 M12D powersuppply. It's one of the best 850 watts on the market...only bad is the lime-green fan blades, but I don't seen that, it's underneath... http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=165 TSW8.5 got one also, his is not-modular, but it's the same Seasonic internals... When I look for a PSU, i look at jonnyguru's reviews, he's the most knowledgeable power supply reviewer...he 'strips PSU apart, and analyse it's components. He owns the expensive PSU load tester and he created the HOT BOX test to rate the powersupplies at 50 degrees celsius, to check if manufacturers are lying on the their specs... So, the question is always..who MANUFACTURED the powersupply and how, more than who sells it under their name...
-
KK, good to know...this is the closest thing I could find... My rig for reference: Cabling job a little messy... -2500K OCed to 4.5GHz -Noctua NH-u12P -Asus P8P67 Deluxe -2 X 4GB of Gskill RIPJAWS X 1.5volts -2 x MSI GTX560Ti TFII OC in SLI -XFX 850 watts Black edition 80 plus SILVER certification single rail 70 amps -1 X SSD OCZ Vertex 120GB (still really fast, but newer are even faster!!!!) -1 X Western Digital Black 640GB for storage My Case is a Coolermaster ATCS840 full ATX...
-
MOFO digs Western digital Black for storage..... SSDs are pretty awesome too...jeez too much shiny stuff to grab!!!!!!!!!! Easy one here....1155 is EXACTLY like 1156...also, NH-D14 is the most popular heatsink for Sandybridge overclocking..you can google nh-d14 on 1155 This is the latest from the NOCTUA's site, off the NH-D14 specs. SecuFirm2™ multi-socket mounting system Noctua’s enthusiast grade SecuFirm2™ multi-socket mounting provides broad socket compatibility (LGA1366, LGA1156, LGA1155, LGA775, AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1) and meets the highest demands in safety, contact pressure and ease-of-use. Here is a pic of an NH-D14 on a ASUS P67 (socket 1155) motherboard, the SABERTOOTH, in a HAF X case... note the MSI videocard, with the TFII cooler (GTX580 is this case... the 560Ti is just a little shorter and CHEAPER lol) for the motherboard, on the ASUS side, it's a matter of feature..the PRO is a few bucks less that the EVO...just check at the features I own the DELUXE and it's a nice board, FULL of features (i'll never use the bluetooth thingy tho...), but that being said, feature you don't need, you don't want to pay for...a PRO is already really good. The EVO and the deluxe go up in price, and the WS being the most expensive.... It's important to cut a few $$$ on useless stuff (useless to you I mean), to invest it in what matters...FRAMES PER SECOND!!! If you want to up the ante a little, the MSI GTX570 TFIII power edition is a beast...The Asus DirectcuII GTX570 (triple slot tho...big focker) is also good....but you won't be able to SLI later if you pick a triple-slot ASUS 570... Man you got the choicE!!!!!! How is the UK pricing for you anyway? Is it a lot more expensive to you if you add shipping and customs???

True that... It also gives the opportunity to use sniper rifles, shotguns and pistols more a little bit.... -

Like I said HARDCORE, I'm volunteering my time to get this to work...i Know a few of our players are waiting for this...people that actually spend some time on the BO servers.... -

CplMOFO replied to Ruggerxi's topic in Other Games
I've noticed people only twice on the server yet, since it's been put together... a lot of promises to go and play, but not many actual players Bring in the CROUCH....people are waiting for this! I volunteer to admin this! -
Chavez, no need for the Noctua C14...it's a special model for narrow cases and HTPCs... The NH-u12P, or better the NH-D14 are better suited, especially in a HAF X (sexy case btw)... I don't like the corsair vengeance RAM, just because the heatspreaders are really high and MIGHT interfere with the cooler fan's...and I like my Gskill!!! http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=57&sortby=nameAsc&subid=&mfrid=345 I have no clue of what it implies to buy from the UK and ship to Belgium tho..sry... I know this site has a lot of stuff and a support forum to boot. It's always nice to post your proposed rig, and the lads are telling you what fits, what doesn't and what's working better....the P8P67 EVO is nice, but you can consider the PRO for a few bucks less... Whatever floats your boat! Oh ...BTW, I'm no ATI/AMD fanatic, but OVERCLOCKERS UK got a MSI HD6950 2GB With thetwinn frozr III cooler, power edition of the card, and it's got also a copy of DIRT 3 that comes with it...it's a little more powerful than a 560TI.... Anyway, I'm rocking my two MSI 560Ti Twin Frozr II Overclocked 880MHz in SLI and it rocks!!! Love those cards!
-
Honestly, I don't like that coolermaster power supply...especially not for $150....you can get something a lot better for that price (and more powerful)... For the overclocking it appears that this motherboard is a OEM component, so your computer is a pre-built one...there is good chances that that board doesn't overclock...those boards are often BIOS-locked... I did read somewhere that there MIGHT be a jumper on the motherboard that override the BIOS-LOCK...you will have to investigate that before considering overclocking.... You might want to browse the MSI forum and get somebody that KNOWS... If that board fails at overclocking (if you cannot unlock the overclocking features of your motherboard) You might want to find a good second-hand 775 board + a GTX460 1GB instead of a GTX560ti...that way you could overclock your CPU...(trying to get the best of both world for the money....) And make sure that before you buy a power supply, that it actually fit in your case... when you attempt to upgrade a pre-built computer this is what you MIGHT encounter: -Psu doesn't fit in case -after market doesn't fit case -motherboard doesn't OC... -Case as poor airflow... -graphics card is too long...
-
Nice rig dude! Good old Wolfie assisting also! That case, along with the power supply, will outlasts this build... see ya in-game!
-
Wolftis: TSW8.5 mentioned that you would sort all that out and that you're coming out as reinforcement....so if TSW is not online tonight...WE'LL point fingers...lol Skunk: nice sexy Nh-D14...I wish I had one...I run the NH-U12P myself.... TSW8.5: Hope you'll like that new computer and get a woody out of it...
-
Chavez, You received good advices...I would add only one little thing....Overclocking that Q6600 from 2.4GHz to 3.0GHZ by adding an aftermarket cooler....The Q6600 is KNOWN for overclocking to 3.0GHZ without much fuss....would you notice a difference in FPS in games? YES YES YES so, Good quality Power supply 650Watts(80+bronze or better)+GTX460 1GB or better + S775-compatible CPU heatsink (to overclock a little)....
-
Godspeed to you TSW! It's always nice to jump on shiny new hardware that makes games run smoother.... Best of luck...talk to ya in-game tomorrow....
-
Yes Bushape as an admin, you're expected to get the latest map packs...but in this case, the zombie stuff doesn't need ADMIN input... BAN that zombie.....he's back talking me!!! LOL sry I'm loosing it...
