  9. One night my dispatch received a call via 911, but before the caller could speak it was disconnected. Dispatch traced the call and while trying to call the number back dispatched myself and a fellow officer to the address, as "an unknown situation". She explained the circumstances. We responded arriving at the same time to the home. It was a damp and dark night, near 10:30. We could hear clearly hear the waves breaking on the shore. Not knowing if this was a break in/assault or medical, we quickly developed a plan and approached the home. We did not see a car there, and the home was completely dark. We circled the home and found no evidence of a break in. We were able to see thru the windows and saw the phone on it's base. Nothing looked disturbed that we could see. Beginning to feel pretty sure this was a medical call, we were near the moment of entry, ready to break the front door in. Just then a car came down the gravel road. I opted for talking to the driver as they stopped across the road. They were a neighbor and said they knew who the people were that owned the house. I told them what had happened. They told us what we needed to know. "The husband passed away 2 weeks ago. His wife was staying out of town with a daughter, and there has been no one in the home for at least a week." I thanked her for the information. Randy (the other officer) and I looked at each other. The chills are back as I share this story. And yes, true story at that. We had to just leave. What you are feeling if you are scared is what we were feeling as we backed away from the home, a little frightened, not feeling as tough as we did when we first arrived to deal with the possible intruder. Happy October... Coop

Hey crew, Coop here. It has been a while since I first showed interest in joining here, so I am posting again. About me... I am an old guy. Old enough to have 5 grand-kids. We have 3 cats, one of which is a munchkin. Don't know what that is? Time to google "munchkin cat". His personality is more laid back than mine. I drive truck, 18 wheeler, sometimes 30 wheeler. I have a side business that involves a modification to a tool, patented for the trucking industry. AND I am trying to make a change in my work, from trucking to mediation, at my age...? yeppers... I've been a cop (FTO) and was on a SWAT team for a short time. Did good things there. I love sailing, although the boats have been small ones so far. Would hope to own my own one day, but rumor has it that takes time and money...and I have neither at this point. Anyways, it is fun here. I enjoy my time and the people. Hope to update to a "self-built" computer soon. We'll see about that one. Hope to see you in the game, and sight you in for a kill. success...
  18. Oops...
  19. It never ceases to aze me when I hear what the "experts" are saying/predicting. And them it happens more closely to what I conclude from my news sources. Just wish I could get the salary o those "experts", but then I'd be called batshit crazy. That's no fun... ;-)

  21. Yep, the 1% are not to blame, but that is the mantra of the left. The saying is used to increase taxes on all of us, thereby diminishing the middle class as has been occurring during the current administration. Each election cycle brings the same accusations to create the same fears in an attempt to leave the same measures of control. The establishment enjoy their positions in government, their pay, their benefits, and their retirement programs. Did I leave out the growing control over the people? In a fashion, I see Trump as the "third party" candidate, although running on the Republican ticket. Neither side like him, both sides want him to lose, and many people seem to believe he is a "conservative" Republican in the same way they believe Obama was a "liberal" Democrat. The healthcare, moving to a system yet of more government elite control, just like the countries overseas who this nation was established to avoid. America was about the people in control, not s structure of elitists in control. All the comments are spot on here. Appreciate your insights.
  22. I actually got a list of parts for a self assembly from dotfader some time ago. I'll look at those and probably go that route. Sure appreciate the info. Thank you so much...
