Thanks Johnny! The survey is done for dissertation but I doubt if would be deemed good enough to be published in any kind of serious journal. If you or someone else are interested in survey results or anything else in connection I am more than happy to share

Thanks TBB! we'll definitely arrange beer or a nip once you're in Scotland or I'm in States

Thanks! I assure you - I appreciate all answers leading to a completed survey I totally agree that the design has quite few shortcomings, main ones being no text-boxes to enter answers and no option to select/name physical games vendors... sadly it's too late to mend it now since it's been launched

Hello members of XI! I am doing a research project and I would like to ask for your input. The survey has 21 multiple choice questions and takes somewhere between 5-10 minutes on average to complete (longest record so far is 27 minutes and shortest is about 30 seconds). It is implemented in Novi - survey service Edinburgh Napier university uses. The questionnaire is about video games market from customer - gamer - perspective: where they are bought from, what is considered good value and added value when considering games, how game modding is perceived amongst gamers. All information is anonymous and will be destroyed once the research project is complete (by May 2018). Participation is voluntary and you can withdraw any time (although I would ask you to finish the survey). I understand that survey is not an exciting thing to do, but as a fellow gamer I have high hopes for your help and cooperation any comments or questions - fire away, I'll be here at least once a day to answer Hope you'll find some time to help me out with this one The survey can be found here: https://survey.napier.ac.uk/n/zz3pe.aspx P.S. Huge thanks Ruggerxi and JAYsus_NL for help and support!

BF1 server continues to be empty
d34d_d0g replied to papithegun's topic in Battlefield 1's Battlefield 1 Discussion
This might have been suggested already, but for me the best time is late evening/night time. If there was one day per week when there would be XI members playing in the server, I'd surely make time and join in! Miss BF4 server days Someone need to start initiative, like a planner or something. If I knew when other people were playing BF1, I'd make arrangements to join the game. -
I've lived north of Newcastle for a bit - one of the most beautiful places! Another option could be Edinburgh, but I will understand if the price is an issue. It is quite expensive city (at least for a student) unless you're OK with spending time in jd wetherspoons... Riga or Vilnius could be fun. I could be a guide for Vilnius!

I have had it for over half a year now I think...did not play too much because it's very different from the mainstream COD or BF4 in IMO. Quite demanding game so your setup should be quite good to play it on full specs...biggest killer for me was that it's quite complicated in terms of controls. The gameplay is a lot slower - more tactics and actions take more time as well e.g. to do some actions you need to go through several menus that pop up on one side of your screen and that doesn't pause the game - call in artillery strike etc. good side is that is super realistic, you get to control lots of different vehicles (including drones), down side of this your controls have to be tuned crazy good otherwise it's just too hard to do stuff, quite hard to spot enemies but with a good team could be very interesting. Verdict: If you've got spare cash (or if it's on sale) get it and give it a try, just bear in mind that most likely you'll need to take some time to learn the game (in my case I refused to learn it because I already had lots of fun in BF4). Definitely worth a go!

Is Battlefield 4 doing ok?
d34d_d0g replied to r3m3DY's topic in Battlefield 4's Battlefield 4 Discussion
there is a list of servers in the homepage. BF4 server for EU is second from the top...or you could use search in game launcher -
Guess everyone goes through this stage sooner or later...personal introductions that is I have to admit...I am a gamer, been this way a while now (Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun) and have no plans of giving it up! Edinburgh, Scotland is my home now, originally from Lithuania, gotta boring classes in college and even more boring job in a cool bar(self-contradiction intended), so brighten my days and nights up on BF4 XI servers I'm new to BF - started last year around Nov - but loving it so far and hope to have some good games with you all! Community makes the game - jump in with some ppl on ts and you'll have happy days. Not an expert on netcode, hit reg, well...I mostly blame my poor aim, don't know about others
