  1. The smartbomb locator can pause a little in between choosing targets depending on how hard it is to hit. It must find an open path that guarantees it will reach it. So if for example you place the target in the courtyard inside the building in Vacant it will find a way but calculations might take a second or two. Its not lag and does not affect anyone. Just a lot of complicated math and hit detection to find when and where to drop the bomb from. Until it has successfully found the path you cannot choose another. In the unlikely event that it cant find one at all it will tell you and ask you to try again.
  2. In this thread or another I think Rugger said that novagas was shut off. I might be mistaken. Nothing has been changed about the knife but I think the default aimbot was turned off in the server configs. Without it melee is pretty tough. Shooting the RC is fixed. The sentrygun will go after it now also. But since the RC is low to the ground and can be mighty fast its not a guarantee. I'm not sure I understand the question about 'changing', do you mean while the player raises and activates the laptop etc but before he can drive around in the RC? Assuming no more bug reports in the next few days we can finalize what we have now for a beta.

  4. I have yet to reproduce the problem of not being able to shoot other players so its unusual. I can only assume maybe its a certain combination of things causing it. If you know, when it happens are there any perks/weapons that always part of your loadout? The player that couldnt be shot, did he recently use some kind of streak weapon? A few of them do set a spawn protection flag so the players cant be damaged while in them (ac130, Predator etc). But when finished the flags should be shut off. edit: Yes the RC had problems. Should be fixed now and will be doing more tests on it today. afaik the only remaining thing that might cause a server lag in the current mod is if semtex is stuck to a player. Caused by a timer conflict between throw time and stick time.
  5. Spawn protection added to Novagas and a few other things that were missing it. Uses the same OW spawn protection for being shot at. So if you fire a weapon or throw a nade then the protection is gone etc. The gas no longer affects frozen players. If you are already under its effects when frozen however you will remain so until the timer is over. Things that arent very fun can always be fixed if they are too out of place for the game type.
  6. TBH at the moment shooting the RC is not %100 but has to do with some obstructions at odd angles. Havent figured a way around that yet. I think we put that into the release notes but I dont remember. I dont know why knifing would have issues since nothing was changed about it. The aimbot can be turned off by dvar as usual as well as the other OW dvars but thats it. I have it turned off for testing here but when I turn it back on I simply cannot miss. That gets boring when testing with bots. No changes to shooting also, unless the OW dvars for damage and accuracy were set to other values. Or perhaps the 1.3 server was HC and this one is not? I will try some things today and see.
  7. The 'bones' error hates the Arab model. One of the custom player weapons has too many tags on it but dont know which yet. Possible it happens when the player has that weapon, rpg or some other model, and activates the laptop for the streak. If this happens again, and this was the trigger, plz let me know which weapon it was so we can change the model.

  10. Oh, for predator do you mean kill yourself in the normal way by running into the ground or by suicide? There was an issue with the hud coming on after using predator in HC games. In this case it sounds like you had the SC hud minmap, lost it after respawn, and got it back after using predator again. All in the same round I assume?
  11. The Flush One issue that I have found is the mini nuke and the b2 bomber both do not work...they explode but do not reach the ground or kill anyone. Just an FYI. Otherwise, I LOVE the new server and keep up the good work! Thx. I just ran a couple tests on the mininuke and its pretty lethal. But maybe the airburst radius is too small in the config? I dont think I changed anything related to damage in the current WIP version. Did have to add some spawn protection to it for the radiation effects, OW spawn protection covers damage, otherwise it would be a very annoying spawnkill weapon The carpet bomb finds its own best path, like the stock airstrike, but at the bare minimum it should drop the 3 middle bombs directly on the target area if its open enough. Is that what you mean?
  12. Yes, we are looking to fix ow2 as much as we can with the holidays upon us. I never noticed a problem with knifing and afaik nothing was changed about it. Can you describe the problem? Unless the aimbot was turned off in the configs?
  13. drunksniper - LAG AND HIGH PING Hi .... are the servers still under attack or ar we having problems with the new mod . we are still havin loads of issues with the server. I know you are probably aware of this but thought i would give ya some info mate ... i still think it needs fixing Many Regards Damon If possible can you tell me what was happening at the time? How many people? What map etc? At the moment I am pretty sure the lag that was caused by an occasional issue when players are frozen should be fixed. Or at least that is what I have heard. The only other I know if is when semtex gets stuck to a player, caused by a conflict between the throw timer and the player-stick timer. A line that was supposed to wait a moment before exploding tried to wait a negative amount. Reason? I did something similar to the NASA error that caused their multi-million Mars probe to crash and got seconds and milliseconds mixed up. We are doing what we can to get the next release with bug fixes out as soon as we can and any issues we can find now would help.
  14. Thx. The mod is Sledgehammer's. But 4-5 months ago I was asked to help out debugging some things. Later I offered to add projects from an old mod of mine that didnt really take off. Then added all the new things. And on and on. Never seems to end. Everyone probably knows already but the nade launcher doesnt work for the scarh and famas. It needs to be added to their respective models and the animations made. They are on the to-do list.
  15. Forgot to ask... For the novagas does it happen with the airstrike? Or just the nades? The nades themselves are just stock smoke but purple. Each one does have a radius for the gas effects but the aistrike has 8 of them at once and uses the same code. The main difference however is that the strike does not actually throw nades and plays the smoke fx manually. Oh and yes, the fx for it is named Purple Haze. So I am wondering if the game in general has a problem with 4 smoke nades at once when the server is full. Or if its the number of affected players in a single radius. Maybe if a player is being affected by two that are overlapping? If anyone experiences the ping problems and any of these consistently seem to be true let Rugger know.
  16. Ruggerxi For the new 1.4 mw2 mod, this is not a server issue, its a MOD issue. The mod maker has been into our with with us when it happens and is working on getting the problem resolved. The only way to fix this problem right now would be to change the mod back to the old MW V2 mod. Hi all, my first post. I just want to give a brief description of a couple of the problems the 1.4 server occasionally experiences. The main CI looks like it might be caused by a timing issue with the way the iceberg model is handled and an array that holds the other frozen players on the team. Previously there were two models, one blue and one red. To help with xmodel limits and allow more room for new things they were combined into one model with two parts. The part shown depends on the team. Hopefully a freezetag game file with a hotfix on the server will take care of it until the next revision is out. As a last resort it will go back to two models and if limits are an issue we will figure something out to compensate. Also, I was just told the sentry goes after frozen players and it will be fixed as soon as we can. I've loved freezetag since playing it in UT2K4 and want it to work. Another seems to be an oversight in the menu where the grey pistol attachment buttons should not respond to the Desert Eagle. The loadout is looking for an attachment that doesnt exist so it gets stuck in a fast loop it cant get out of. It lags the server until the loop is killed. It is a common problem and usually just requires a short delay so it doesnt overload the server. But in this case the loop itself shouldnt even work. We do greatly appreciate putting up with the bugs and also the help in finding them to squash them dead.
