Well woke up and my first batch of beta errors to hunt down. Thx for testing. Using a streak weapon does not reset it. Only death. Or at least it shouldnt. So there should be no problem for example using the RC, getting two more kills for the airstrike, and then calling that in also. Is the effect you are seeing that after using the RC the counter is reset, even when not killed? A couple models for player weapons were changed but the various stats controlling how they work were not. Range, sway, accuracy etc unchanged.

Clay timer is standard 3/4 of a second as in stock cod4. But if comparing to mw2 the timer in that game is 1/2 of a second. If the consensus is that 3/4 is too slow let Rugger know. I think the stock timer in BO was raised back to 3/4 but I dont know what it is in mw3. If you mean literally 20 seconds its highly possible that the first person to run by it had Stealth. In which case he did not actually trip the clay. Or another is that when the first person ran by the clay was disabled by emp at the time. For UAV I will see if I can get on the server tomorrow and try things out. Hopefully I will be good enough to get a 3-streak.

Just to clarify I must say the mod is Sledgehammers and is the project leader. But a few people have been working on 1.4 for 6 months now. I am truly hoping all the known issues from the last official release (or at least most) have been fixed. But Murphy's Law being what it is there is no guarantee without lots of good beta testing and as Rugger posted please let me know of any issues and any pertinent information about what happened. I look forward to getting my ass kicked soon. Add: If you can, test the Snatch and Grab perk. Defrost time was added to it to work the same as objectives but has not been tested in a large environment with many players. It may not actually be good for gameplay, I dont know. But it does reward players who choose it instead of Stopping Power etc. Might be a good perk to have if your team is losing in a big way.

Well thats true. Paying for things does have its little advantages. It has been a long time since I was in a clan so I suppose I have a different perspective these days. Anyways, yes that can be set up by using clan tags in the name... which is easiest. Or you can use guids... which is more complicated and harder to maintain. Those are typically reserved for admins that would be given priority over clan tags. -

Open Warfare has a system for that. It keeps an open slot ( 31 slots on a 30 player server ) to allow someone to join. Every couple seconds it checks to see if there are 31 players. If there are, and that player is a clan member (using guid checks), then a random non-clan player is kicked or redirected to another server. So it is then 30 players again. But IMHO it is a bad idea. Better to have "members only" nights. Kicking players who have done nothing wrong on a public server looks bad on the server and its members. It only says some people are more equal than others. -
It's a bit of a pain but you can use a MAC filter. That should remove any possibility of an outsider of logging onto your network. And no that doesnt mean keeping out Apple products. edit: ooops, someone beat me to it.

Yup sometimes that is hard to do and only lots of playing, and players, can narrow things down. So it is with 100 million dollar games. So it is with mods made on home computers. Something to keep track of and I will be looking out for it to see if anything like it happens here. Thx. edit: re Semtex: I assume you mean you didnt throw one yet you got killed by one. Also that the printline had the kill icon and yourself but no killer? I am wondering if when that happened the nade was actually stuck to someone. There were a couple issues with that and perhaps the identity of the killer wasnt being sent for some reason. -

Unless FF is specifically enabled it is off by default. Includes both frags and semtex. Standard OW offers three kinds of FF. The normal kind. Transfer all damage to the attacker. Or distribute 50/50. Also, if you commit 3 of them in any single game you are forced into spectator and have to wait 20 seconds before you are allowed to respawn. Do it again and that increases to 40. And so on. In regards to this mod nothing about that has been changed as far as player weapons are concerned. A few streak weapons allow for extra options however. But to be fair bugs are always possible anyways so if there are any common factors (both attacker and victim) I can use to recreate what happened it would help. -
You might want to first rename the current serv2 mod folder and download all the mod files again to start fresh.

Early tests seem to fix that problem and will be in the next bug fix. Which will be online very soon barring any more bugs and when Rugger wants to get it going for open beta testing. I do look forward to getting my ass constantly whipped. Yes really. Not because I like punishment (only one person in the world I would do that for) but I really want to enjoy all that hard work. -

I only use iTunes if I need to sync up my iPod. Nor Quicktime. Otherwise Winamp for music and VLC for vids. Have used Winamp since they made the first version of it long long ago for my Mac G3.

tsw 8.5 we know we are he best so f all the people that think they are better ..we do not need to vote ..we just need to play and have fun HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL I dont play many servers but the XI ones are my favs. Never looked at 'rankings'. Just tried out servers that had people on them. I either liked them, or I didnt. Some populated servers I cannot stand more than 5 minutes of. So I agree, such rankings are worse than worthless. Oh... also +1 on your pic of "Michelle". Happy New Year!

CHKN the lag is not that minimal rugger, everyone is whining about the CI's. we are still playing there because its just fun even with the lag, but its very frustrating but as i understand it wont be fixed anyway, for the eerier map, if u need the files, i still have them Do you mean the MW2 mod? If so, yes things are being fixed as much as possible. Holidays cut into time for it. And as always new ones come up. Testing the sentry vs RC it turned out that a single player couldnt have more than one active sentrygun at a time. Even tho it would be unlikely to happen the possibility still needed to be addressed so more than one would work. Also what would happen if a care package landed on a sentry. All these little things to account for and like Cartman sometimes the logic behind it taxes my fragile little mind. Agh!!! -
Gotta teach em young so they enlist at 18. Nah just kidding. Back in the day I had my own toy guns like everyone else but not a nerf machine gun. I am sure tho my mother would have gotten tired of it very quickly. Very cool gift and reminds of "A Christmas Story" on steroids.

Before we do anything with that lets see how it all works with the fixed hit detection and all of that. The trigger watcher and damage watchers are started at the same time so there is no advantage that way. Until that time the player cant blow himself up. But I think I will try a little change and see if freezing the player/rc before its fully activated will work. The RC is a 3-kill in Black Ops so we figured its best to stick with that. -

Yes I reduced the max range of the RC to around 1000 game units radius or so. -

The smartbomb locator can pause a little in between choosing targets depending on how hard it is to hit. It must find an open path that guarantees it will reach it. So if for example you place the target in the courtyard inside the building in Vacant it will find a way but calculations might take a second or two. Its not lag and does not affect anyone. Just a lot of complicated math and hit detection to find when and where to drop the bomb from. Until it has successfully found the path you cannot choose another. In the unlikely event that it cant find one at all it will tell you and ask you to try again. -

In this thread or another I think Rugger said that novagas was shut off. I might be mistaken. Nothing has been changed about the knife but I think the default aimbot was turned off in the server configs. Without it melee is pretty tough. Shooting the RC is fixed. The sentrygun will go after it now also. But since the RC is low to the ground and can be mighty fast its not a guarantee. I'm not sure I understand the question about 'changing', do you mean while the player raises and activates the laptop etc but before he can drive around in the RC? Assuming no more bug reports in the next few days we can finalize what we have now for a beta. -
