  1. Trippy video, but I love the music. Coming soon to Girls Rock Radio.
  2. You already have a trifecta - your third element is Windows Defender. That should be your primary. Malwarebytes as a backup. Run it weekly, or so. CCleaner? idk. More of a cleaner of gunk than malware or virus protection.
  3. And then get your Country on because the only thing wrong to do is Nothing. Hear that one over on Country Girl Radio, of course.
  4. Here's fun video and a great song from Cocktail Slippers. You can hear it on Girls Rock Radio, too.
  5. Okay, so I'm happy to report that we have apparently achieved success on this one. According to Radionomy, after I specifically had to ask: Country Girl Radio has been activated more than one year ago. You probably received an alert if your audience was "critical" one month before the 1st October evaluation, but you don't receive one more email if the evaluation is successful. Yes, but the 30 day assessment "alert" came on September 8, which makes October 8 the actual assessment date, and it has always been my understanding that if you made the numbers at the 9 month mark (not over a year ago,) you were "Premium" from that point on. But we moved from the SHOUTcast side of Radionomy over to the actual Radionomy Internet Radio service in January, so the 9 month thing seemed logical to me. I think they have their dates messed up due to the move from one side of their house to the other. Also Girls Rock Radio, my other station, did get an email announcing we had achieved Premium status, so not much of their reply makes a great deal of sense to me. But whatever, right? So others have asked, "What's your other station?" since I have said their are two of them. So here's the 411 on both stations: Girls Rock Radio - Where the Girls are! On air date: June 2006. More than a decade of continuous broadcasting! Website: http://www.girlsrockradio.com Direct Stream URL: http://listen.radionomy.com/girlsrockradio iTunes Radio: found under "Alternative Rock" Girls Rock Radio plays the music of women artists in the Rock, Pop, and Alternative music genres. It's a carefully blended mix that really works, and has a really broad appeal. The station also features many independent artist that you have never heard before, and who have sought out the station requesting airplay. With several thousand songs in the playlist, it would take days (weeks!) to work through them all, and to experience all the "moods" that the station weaves it way through. It's a sweet ride, believe me! Country Girl Radio - Boys, form a line! On air date: September 2, 2015. Website: http://www.countrygirlradio.com Direct Stream URL: http://listen.radionomy.com/countrygirlradio iTunes Radio: found under "Country" Country Girl Radio features the music of women artists in the Contemporary Country music genre. I first envisioned the station after watching the Footloose reboot movie. In particular, the line dancing scene (Goggle: Footloose 2011 - Full Dance Scene for the video of that scene) and hence the station's tag line "Boys - form a line!" And of course it just fits in with the women in music thing I already had going on, extending it into the massively popular country music genre. The Common Vision My belief and my vision for GRR and CGR is that they must become a platform and a voice beyond just the entertainment value they provide. A voice for issues effecting women, yet with the specific desire to include and encourage men to be a part of the conversation. Issues such as teenage pregnancy, rape and other violence against women, breast cancer and other maladies effecting women, low glass ceilings for women, inappropriate media portrayals of women, etc. It has been brutally difficult to get any traction under this agenda! For those who know me better, you know that this has caused me to strive to regain full time employment in the "regular" working world. Yet the dream and the vision persist. Maybe one day the stars will all align and this will move forward in a truly spectacular way. You can help The best ways to help are giving the stations a shout-out in your everyday social media use - Facebook, Twitter, etc. so as to help me to continue to build the audience. Then there is listening. Listening keeps our numbers up and avoids trouble with Radionomy, so please tune in often and for a long time. With two stations, I probably have the majority of you covered. Experience has shown that monetary contributions are never enough to cover expenses. I will NOT now, nor will I ever ask this group for monetary contributions. That's totally up to you, and I'm just as happy to have you as a listener more than anything else. Please enjoy the stations absolutely guilt free, but as you listen to any Internet radio station, not just mine, realize that it takes time, effort, money, and extreme expertise in multiple disciplines to pull off a station, and we don't really get support via the voluntary contribution revenue model. Most are moving to an in-stream geo-targeted ad-supported revenue model, BUT this does not cover all expenses. And in the case of Radionomy, they stopped paying US-based stations a revenue-share on ads due to the massive increase in royalty rates we must all pay to the music industry beginning on January 1, 2016. Finally, if you have the talent to lend to the vision I wrote about above, contact me through either station on its Contact page. Thank you for your support of my stations, and of Internet radio as a whole! You can be proud of saving Country Girl Radio!
  6. Thanks @@Giggles - that really is a big help!
  7. Thank you to everyone who is helping to save this awesome Internet radio station. Here's the graph including the past 24 hours. Things are falling back to the previous baseline, and with it, the average listener hours will drop, too. If you can, I'd really appreciate you taking a moment to start the station playing, then just mute it if you don't want to listen to it. Keep the station playing as often as you can. The more hours played, the higher the average listener hours climb, and that's what Radionomy is looking for. It's just a 128k stream, so it's not a bandwidth killer, and nothing that's even going to effect your ping in a game. Not sure why you would even bother? The answer to that question can be found in the original post in this thread. Thank you! I will email Radionomy today to see if we've made it and they just haven't bothered to inform me yet. If you want to listen in another player or game, the full link to the stream is http://listen.radionomy.com/countrygirlradio The station's website is http://www.countrygirlradio.com
  8. This is probably beginning to sound like complete bullshit, but I assure you, it's real. I don't know why it's day 34 without any word after Radionomy said I had 30 days to make the numbers. The graph shows the numbers are falling back down, but I know some of you are out there trying to help. And I really appreciate that! Thank you. Here's the results including the past 24 hours. The red line is the point in time when I put out a call for help to XI. If you're just jumping into this thread, there's more information about what's going on an why it's important to help in the original post.
  9. Thanks @@WildPenguin! That doubly rocks!
  10. Thanks Phantom! Your help means a lot to me and Country Girl Radio!
  11. Day 33 of the 30 day evaluation period Radionomy has me biting my nails through. Here is the listener hours graph as of this morning. Until Radionomy decides one way or the other, I really need people to keep tuned in. I know it is an inconvenient thing for me to ask, and I sound like a total beggar, but head back up to my original post for some inspiration on why it's awesome if you help me with this. Radionomy has to make a decision sooner or later. I just hope it's sooner. That nice bump happened around mid-day Satrurday after I first posted about this, but between yesterday's graph and this one, you can see the numbers are falling back. Please don't be "done" with this. I'm not, and I'm not going down without a fight. Please continue to be a part of that fight. Please - as you head out for work today, the dog park, or whatever, click this link to start Country Girl Radio playing There's a volume slider on the player to mute the audio if you don't want it playing while your away or doing something else. If you want to listen in another player or game, the full link to the stream is http://listen.radionomy.com/countrygirlradio. The station's website is http://www.countrygirlradio.com
  12. Thank you so much! And yeah, totally agree. The music is amazing. The ladies of Country know how to do it up right!
  13. So it's early Monday morning and I have not heard from Radionomy yet, but Saturday was exactly 30 days from the date they said I had 30 days to make the numbers or face their "decisive decision." I guess if the 30 days falls on a weekend they wait till Monday? I don't know. But here's what I do know. You guys really pushed the numbers UP! Here's a one week graph showing the a really nice bump in the numbers beginning Friday, October 8. But as you can see, they are falling back down. Falling down at the very moment I need them to stay up. Please - as you head out for work today, the dog park, or whatever, click this link to start Country Girl Radio playing There's a volume slider on the player to mute the audio if you don't want it playing while your away or doing something else. Keep playing the station (on mute if you really don't want to hear it) until Radionomy gives me a go or no-go decision. It should be soon since the 30 days have officially passed. I know they do send notice that you have made it because my other station did many months ago. So for now it's a waiting game. Keep the numbers up to save Country Girl Radio and to vote for choice and music diversity for all. Read the original post in this thread for more information on what's going on with all of this. Thank you!! If you want to listen in another player or game, the full link to the stream is http://listen.radionomy.com/countrygirlradio. The station's website is http://www.countrygirlradio.com
  14. Oops. Sorry, I'll look for it, but if it was a while back, it's probably scrolled into the abyss. Can you PM me a link to the post and I'll look at if. Nevermind, I found it. is right, a screenshot would help. I would add, it would be good to know what version of Windows he's running (but answer in that thread, not here.) And thank you for helping out with CGR.
  15. I have not created a Facebook "app" to tune in. It would be an iframe into a page on the Country Girl Radio website anyway. Facebook doesn't make it easy, and it kinda seems like they "demote" any page that's not actively paying them to "promote" posts. Sorry. If we don't get deleted, I'll see what I can do.
  16. Please do! Internet radio needs all the help it can get to spread the word. It's not like Internet radio hasn't existed for the last 15 years or more, but the real challenge is getting it to go viral. Not easy at all. People spreading the word on Facebook is greatly appreciated!
  17. Okay, I don't get it. I could TeamView you if you want. But if you're playing CGR on the webpage and there is no sound, I'm guessing it's not really playing. You mentioned popping out the player, which you certainly can do right from one of the icons on the embedded player, but that disables the on-page one. So my guess is that it looks like it's playing, but not really. Refresh the page, then click play again to get it actually playing again. But I have no clue why a right-click on the systray speaker icon is not getting you a menu. Mine looks like this:
  18. Right-click on the speaker icon - the same one that got you this with a left-click - then select "Open volume mixer"
  19. Thanks everyone! You really are helping, and no one is too late. I haven't heard from Radionomy yet even though today, Saturday, is supposed to be the official evaluation date. But as it is Saturday, I really don't know if that means they will just wait and look on Monday. So please keep this up - you really ARE helping. For those of you having a hard time muting the stream once it's started, I'm not sure why. Are you using something other than Chrome or Firefox? For Chrome, you have to right-click on the tab CGR is playing in (it will have a little speaker icon on the tab, too, to indicate there's audio playing from that tab) and you should see a mute option on the pop-up menu. In Firefox, there is also a speaker icon on the tab, and just clicking on it will mute that tab. A little easier than Chrome, but both are pretty easy. The volume slider to the right of the Play button on the embedded music player does not mute the audio when the slider is moved all the way to the bottom, as Laszlo has discovered. Another way to mute the browser is to open the Windows Volume Mixer. Right click on the speaker icon down by the clock on the taskbar, and select "Open volume mixer." Find the browser's volume slider in the list of applications and slide it all the way down, or just click on the little speaker at the bottom of the slider to mute the entire browser, like shown here: Hope that helps. You are all rocking this request, and I really thank you for that! And hopefully you actually like the music too. Otherwise mute away! Just don't go away.
  20. My other station is... Wait.. I'll tell you once Country Girl Radio is secure. No, seriously, it's that important. I have to keep everyone's eye on the prize. Country Girl Radio must not be terminated!
  21. Oh, and others have found there is a chat room on the Country Girl Radio page that you can use to talk shit to me But if you do, you best be listening!
  22. BTW, if you want to use a different media player - like WinAmp, VLC, etc. - or if you play games that let you add a radio stream to your virtual world like Second Life, you'll want to know this stream address for Country Girl Radio. And actually, any html5 compatible browser (so like all of them by now) will play this link directly without going through a player at all. http://listen.radionomy.com/countrygirlradio
