  1. Totally understand codpiece. Interesting side note, I never identified as a country music fan either. Didn't really identify as a country music hater, either. I just didn't have a solid opinion one way or the other. But one thing I do know is that, whereas rock bands once filled stadiums, now it's mainly just the country acts filling them. So I sourced all the music for Country Girl Radio and flipped the switch, sat back, and it didn't take long for me to think, "Damn! Contemporary country is absolutely awesome!" So now I have an opinion. Still, I know it's not for everyone. And I really THANK YOU for helping!
  2. I own two Internet radio stations. One is safe, the other is about to get deleted by a company called Radionomy if I don't get my average listener hours up. There is only about a day to get this done, or maybe all weekend at the most. So I need to ask a favor of you. You can even do this while playing games since it won't interfere. The station I need to save is called Country Girl Radio. Now before you click off thinking "country music isn't my thing," hear me out because you don't actually have to listen if you don't want to. The station's website is http://www.countrygirlradio.com At the top of the page is an embedded music player with a Play button on the left side. It looks like this: All you have to do is click the play button, and once the music starts, you can either listen, or mute the page. Muting works best in Firefox because you can just click the speaker icon on the tab to toggle mute. In Chrome, you get the speaker icon to let you know what tab is playing audio, but clicking it doesn't do anything. Instead, you can right-click the tab and there's a mute option on the pop-up menu. I would appreciate it if you would just park your browser on Country Girl Radio and play it constantly throughout the weekend. Please check it now and again to make sure it's still playing. That's it. That's all you have to do to save this station. Why should I do this? Why should I even give a shit? (optional read) Because the American music industry is trying it's level best to completely kill off Internet radio. As of January 1 2016, music royalty rates went through the roof for Internet broadcasters. Having thousands of independent online broadcasters is like herding cats in their minds. They would rather have to deal with only a few (iTunes, Google Play Music, Amazon, Spotify, maybe Pandora) because it's easier to manage just those few. Plus, they play what the industry wants them to play. And when online broadcasters die, YOU have lost another source of music discovery. Your only choice will be what the industry spoon-feeds you. And in the meantime, independent artists also loose one of the few platforms they have to be heard at all. So when you do this favor for me, you're actually voting for choice, diversity, and discovery for YOU and for EVERYONE. So why aren't you making the numbers? Do you suck or something? Nope. Country Girl Radio is awesome! Problem is that Radionomy (who acts as our broadcast antenna to the Internet) is feeling the crushing weight of the music industry's demands for higher royalties. So in response, they stopped paying US-based stations a revenue share on ads, pulled all their stations from TuneIn Radio, and for the most part iTunes Radio, too, and geo-blocked entire countries so if you live in one of them, you can't even tune in at all. But at the same time they tell all their affiliated stations, like mine, "You must reach a prescribed minimum average listener hours per day by a certain date or we will delete your station off of our service." It's a real rock and a hard place for me. I was making the numbers, but then they did all the shit I just mentioned, and my numbers plummeted. Now I'm coming up on the magic date, and I'm so close to the magic number I can taste it, but weekends are hell on the numbers and I MUST get through this weekend with strong numbers, or that's it. *poof* Gone. It is by no means a slam dunk right now. It's a fucking white-knuckle, nail-biter of a race to the finish line! Please don't let Country Girl Radio die, and more importantly, please don't let your choice die. Thank you! I'll answer any questions. Ask away.
  3. Great factory footage in that one, @@JohnnyDos! Are you in there? I know I posted the real video with the song sung by the 3 girls in the 2nd half of your video. Can't remember what the song was, though, and I'm too lazy to scroll back looking for it. lol
  4. Hey @@JohnnyDos From the awesome TV show "Chuck" (now I know where it came from, so thanks for that. lol)
  5. That was way too heavy, man.
  6. Optical drive doubles as the ashtray, right?
  7. By the way, your butts are touching.
  8. Spin, you weren't in a band called REO Speedwagon were you? Because you've got this Kevin Cronin thing going on there.
  9. No video on this one, but just listen... This band contacted Girls Rock Radio yesterday for airplay consideration. Turns out they are from Madison, which is where I am, too! It's a new band, a duo featuring Chris Simmons and Claire Lempke. Chris apparently "gigged constantly with Marilyn Manson in their early days" - Marilyn of course of the band Garbage, which was a Madison-based band too, so that all made sense. So I clicked on over to the link they provided, and for some reason, I clicked play on the second track first - "MONSTERFUL" I swear they had me in just 3 notes. But at the same time I was thinking, "please be good; don't fuck this up; please be good; don't fuck this up." Because, you know, sometimes a song starts strong, then falls flat. I've heard it too many times. But with this band, by the end of the playlist, I'm telling you, I had a new favorite band. They are more than just good. They are beyond awesome. They did NOT fuck up even one note. It was all fucking brilliant - every note! If you're into Peter Frampton and his "Framptone" then I think you will especially love track 7 - "THROUGH THE MOTIONS" Special shout-out to @@JohnnyDos - You loved that Madison blues band that came to Windsor. Now vape-up and put this on, because here comes another Madison band that ought to blow your mind! Here's Crawling With Cops and their new release "Oojah Cum Pivvy" from Madison, Wisconsin USA. http://www.crawlingwithcops.com/#music
  10. This information swept the University of Wisconsin this morning like a hurricane. Okay, so look, if you're on any of the products from Symantec/Norton, or any of those listed in the 2nd to last paragraph of this article, get off of them NOW. Got a paid subscription, consider it worthless and get off anyway! This really burns my ass (kinda like Ricko's flame thrower.) How long have we been able to run processes in a sandbox to protect the OS kernel, and the entire system for that matter? Because Symantec just could not be bothered, MILLIONS of users are presently at extreme risk of viruses, worms, and ransomware. Did you notice who ISN'T on the list? Yup - Microsoft. Why? Well, who better to know how to protect Windows than the people who wrote it ?!? If you are paying for any of this shit, or worse, if you're using a "free" 3rd party antivirus, you've been duped. Time to get off that crazy train. For ... = Use .... Win7 = Microsoft Security Essentials (download from Microsoft) Win8/8.1/10 = Windows Defender (baked in, no action required) READ THIS ARTICLE: http://arstechnica.com/security/2016/06/25-symantec-products-open-to-wormable-attack-by-unopened-e-mail-or-links/
  11. This was taken using the Ookla Speedtest app on my 4G LTE connection on my phone on the AT&T network with only 3-bars of signal. Don't know how that will compare to your WiMax/LTE conversion, @@Labob, but this looks playable to me. Ironically, the upload rate via 4G LTE is better than my ISP gives me on a business-class ISP account.
  12. This seems to have no effect. I tried joining a game on our server this morning and was simply told "Server full." I had to wait in a queue to get in. Even then, I still had to click "Join game" when someone told me there should be slots available. There were, and I was able to get in then, but there was no obvious action on the part of the server to inform me there were available slots, or -what I expected to happen- to simply auto join the server as a slot became available. But again, if there's a system in place that is supposed to provide priority access to >XI< clan members on "the list," I don't see that it's happening.
  13. So do I, @@JohnnyDos. But just because I like the older stuff doesn't mean I'm going to ignore all the great newer stuff.
  14. And now for something completely different. (and because I still have a lot of catching up to do on the girls in Country, and because Johnny likes the way they sound...)
  15. @@Barron3000 - I've been in the Insurgency group since the last iteration. My Steam ID is djMot76.
  16. Sixpence None The Richer With the cast of one of my all-time favorite movies "She's All That" And doing one of the most brilliant covers ever.
