So, it looks like we in New Orleans are going to get hit by another hurricane. They are calling for manditory evacuations in many areas but my parish is still under a volentary evaucation. Just like with hurricane Katrina, I will probably not be able to evacuate due to financial reasons. I simply don't have the cash to evacuate. I think a friend out of town is going to put some money on a walmart money pack/green dot card and send me the reload number: If that happens, I may be able to evacutate.
Many of the local gas stations are out of gas (petrol) already while others are price gouging. The lines are 10-15 cars long! So if I disapear from the servers for a few days or longer it will be due to power outages.
When you watch the news about the hurricane, if you hear the word "Contraflow" or see where the Contraflow is, that is where I live: just off the I-10 service road where they do Contraflow.
Anyway, wish me luck on this familiar adventure. I hope the city officials learned a lesson from Katrina and don't let the city down again.
