Brew a couple gallons a week during the summer. Nothing like a cold glass of iced tea when it's hot out. Winter, not so much. It's just not the same as sun tea. Drink up, Diggler!

Does coffee count? Can't have a Bavarian filled Long John w/o a cup of Hazelnut bold.

Leather sheaths
TheLastColdBeer replied to TheLastColdBeer's topic in Hunting, Shooting, Fishing, Boating
A couple of Putnam Cutlery, Bridgeport Connecticut knives were in the mix. Wicked blades, antler handles & fine carbon steel. -
Local hardware store went out of business, & I picked up a few USA made steak & carving knives. They were dirty, & rusty from storage, but a little Mother's Mag Wheel Polish brought them back. Put a couple to my trusty Chicago Cutlery honing steel, & they sharpened up to the point you can skiv leather. Too sharp to leave laying in a drawer. Folded over some leather scraps laying around & made a couple sheaths, to protect the edges in the tackle box, but mostly to protect ME from being clumsy.

Pete, step back into the light. It's much easier living in reality. All these years following darkness have eroded your sanity.

Laz, you aren't going to get anywhere trying to convince people whose minds are already made up. These same people will watch CNN religiously, and believe any tripe rolled out to them. Sure, a pre-pubescant minor can decide for themselves what gender they "should" be. Off to the butcher, hack their balls off, split their penis like a banana peel, & sew it back as a pseudo vagina that will need plugging for the rest of their lives to prevent the wound from sealing. Don't listen to the de-transitioners, they're sterile, mentally incompetent, & soon to commit suicide. Sad state of affairs we live in. No conspiracies needed, just turn the tv on & watch the lies pile up.

In regards to Mr. H As for what came before the universe, what mortal would know? All evidence would disappear in the creation of what appears now. All that matters to me at the moment is making my bacon, lettuce, & tomato sandwiches for lunch at work.

Graphics are beautiful, but the link takes me thru Facebook.

Worrying about how many times the universe has contracted, expanded, & re-invented itself (including new rules & laws) is a completely different thread. Ain't my concern, only in this for the short haul.

Had to crack a smile after reading this & similar articles. https://phys.org/news/2023-07-age-universe-billion-years-previously.html Some people cling to the Big Bang as if it was a holy scroll granted by Heaven. To me, it's too patched up to describe creation correctly. If our universe has suddenly become twice as old as previously believed, why continue with the closed mind concept that "only" dark matter & dark energy can explain expansion. The Webb telescope has moved the goalposts yet again, and it sounds like the money grant people are scrambling to patch up their arguments. My personal theory is we have no idea what lies beyond the light horizon, so Physics is still an open ended game. Keeping an open mind, open ears, and open eyes are truly what separates the people enjoying life, and those being led by their noses.

Northern quebec forest fires..
TheLastColdBeer replied to major-mark63's topic in General Discussion
It happened! We had a lovely 1/2" downpour yesterday afternoon. Nice to see the rain maker isn't broken. Cleared the air, & I might mow this 4th of July. -

Forecast now includes rain, haven't mowed my yard in three weeks. Wind picked up yesterday, but still hazy. -

Wildfire smoke is here now. Visibility down to a mile, blue haze everywhere outside. Illinois really needs rain, but none in the forecast. -

HOWDY from JAKESTER77 - just signed up!
TheLastColdBeer replied to Jakester77's topic in Introductions
Well Howdy Jake! Yessir, you are one of my favorite kills. Always a good time when you show up. Give him the map boys. -
I've flipped through the report, Durham doesn't have the gift Navarro has of making his point quickly. It sure doesn't look good for the alphabet agencies attacking a candidate, and then a sitting president. If you have any doubts about the integrity of our government, this should put them to rest, on the negative side. If however, you consider this a viable representative of congress, all is rosy, and you can remain asleep.

That's one thing about airshows, it brings out the real money and sidelines the posers. What was the name of your neighbors' Lightning? Watched the show sitting in the shade of Dan Nelson's hanger Saturday. Beautiful weather, and perfect for a show. Danny's dad, Vince Nelson, was the pilot of a B-24 Liberator What's Cookin' Doc. Took a jeep ride around the grounds, glad the guy had a 1919 browning mounted, something to hang onto.
