The only way to transport these things is mated, and shorting bars across the back of the poles. They went in the travel case specifically built for them, to keep them separated. I wouldn't carry them in a vehicle otherwise, might screw up the operating computer. A new technique was developed, and we attached pure nickel strips to piping, then used an alnico mag to introduce a field. Wrapped our coils around that array & we had a useful signal. Much more portable, much safer, and we pushed the beasts off to a corner.

Brought these home from Texas. Neodymium magnets, created by SWRI. We used them in refineries & oil fields to generate guided wave signals. Thought they were lost when a Chevron trailer was stolen off I410 many years ago. Each one you see is a mated pair, & we fear them. They are nasty powerful, and wicked around anything ferrous. Stop watches, wipe out hard drives, & ruin monitors. I had to mate a pair that I found separated, & it brought back memories of how dangerous these things can be. "What are you going to do with them?" Someone asked. I dunno, but you could ring a threshold & laugh when the FBI gets their weapons torn out of their hands.

Not thrilled with it. Rather just go back to spawn protection for a few seconds. Vinimy (sic) is a map that you jump into a trench, shoot somebody, & loose your gun. They in turn, walk up & stab you.

This comes from a creature that compares losing a spouse to a tree dropping leaves. I'm sorry for you Pete, try being human for a change.

I rest my case, arrogance itself has spoken. What are your current pronouns, M'lord?

https://townhall.com/columnists/marklewis/2023/10/02/i-hate-to-say-i-told-you-so-but-i-know-leftist-ideology-n2629192 This article sums things up nicely. I would add that man has an idiotic tendency to allow pride to cloud his thoughts. When people start thinking they're creators, on par with Our Father, nothing but disaster follows. YOU didn't design the universe, YOU didn't found this country. YOU are not in charge of anything, except those little fingers & toes. I'll add this also, YOU aren't in charge of me. This is my life, short as it is, and I'll live it my way. I prefer to live in reality, and I don't want to entertain the brain-dead fantasies that despotic imbeciles insist I follow.

Laz, you're preaching to the choir again. All the brainwashed aren't going to pay attention. They're too comfortable in their bubbles, and too easily swayed by msnbc to actually look around. Doesn't take a nuclear physicist to observe what's going on and draw conclusions. That is, if you bother to look around. Most sheep are content in their pen, and too unwilling to look past their phone screens. CNN tells them what to think, why should they put out any effort? All the real historians are pointing out parallels to collapsed empires, but lemmings don't understand history. Take away liberties, freedoms, and push frightening narratives around to get conformity. Lose your lives a piece at a time, just as long as long as you don't have to take responsibility. That is, until you have nothing to eat, no bed to sleep in, and no country to call your own. -
Sitting in a recliner. lol, reminded me of Jim Stafford's show in Branson. He said after the show he was going to play mechanic, had to put a rear end in a recliner.

Brew a couple gallons a week during the summer. Nothing like a cold glass of iced tea when it's hot out. Winter, not so much. It's just not the same as sun tea. Drink up, Diggler!

Does coffee count? Can't have a Bavarian filled Long John w/o a cup of Hazelnut bold.

Leather sheaths
TheLastColdBeer replied to TheLastColdBeer's topic in Hunting, Shooting, Fishing, Boating
A couple of Putnam Cutlery, Bridgeport Connecticut knives were in the mix. Wicked blades, antler handles & fine carbon steel. -
Local hardware store went out of business, & I picked up a few USA made steak & carving knives. They were dirty, & rusty from storage, but a little Mother's Mag Wheel Polish brought them back. Put a couple to my trusty Chicago Cutlery honing steel, & they sharpened up to the point you can skiv leather. Too sharp to leave laying in a drawer. Folded over some leather scraps laying around & made a couple sheaths, to protect the edges in the tackle box, but mostly to protect ME from being clumsy.

Pete, step back into the light. It's much easier living in reality. All these years following darkness have eroded your sanity.

Laz, you aren't going to get anywhere trying to convince people whose minds are already made up. These same people will watch CNN religiously, and believe any tripe rolled out to them. Sure, a pre-pubescant minor can decide for themselves what gender they "should" be. Off to the butcher, hack their balls off, split their penis like a banana peel, & sew it back as a pseudo vagina that will need plugging for the rest of their lives to prevent the wound from sealing. Don't listen to the de-transitioners, they're sterile, mentally incompetent, & soon to commit suicide. Sad state of affairs we live in. No conspiracies needed, just turn the tv on & watch the lies pile up.

In regards to Mr. H As for what came before the universe, what mortal would know? All evidence would disappear in the creation of what appears now. All that matters to me at the moment is making my bacon, lettuce, & tomato sandwiches for lunch at work.

Graphics are beautiful, but the link takes me thru Facebook.

Worrying about how many times the universe has contracted, expanded, & re-invented itself (including new rules & laws) is a completely different thread. Ain't my concern, only in this for the short haul.

Had to crack a smile after reading this & similar articles. https://phys.org/news/2023-07-age-universe-billion-years-previously.html Some people cling to the Big Bang as if it was a holy scroll granted by Heaven. To me, it's too patched up to describe creation correctly. If our universe has suddenly become twice as old as previously believed, why continue with the closed mind concept that "only" dark matter & dark energy can explain expansion. The Webb telescope has moved the goalposts yet again, and it sounds like the money grant people are scrambling to patch up their arguments. My personal theory is we have no idea what lies beyond the light horizon, so Physics is still an open ended game. Keeping an open mind, open ears, and open eyes are truly what separates the people enjoying life, and those being led by their noses.
