Location: Berlin Date: 21st to 23rd July 2017 But a good few of us are going on the 20th Official Hotel: IntercityHotel Berlin Hauptbahnhof At time of writing the hotel looks to be about 85 Euro per night for a standard room (1 or 2 person) so around 170 Euro for the two nights. For a free cancellation booking add an extra 35 Euro.
  2. This is an update for the admins only really, but I think it's good for everyone to know what goes on behind the scenes. This latest admin portal update brings the ability for admins to record when they have kicked a player, this can help build up a history of a player and if they have been kicked allot for causing trouble then a ban may be needed. Hopefully this will help keep track of the problem players and possible be useful if we use it for the new moderator group as well. You can add a kick to the player profile by clicking the 'Add New Kick' button and then enter a reason into the popup: Once saved this will display on the players profile: And you can also access it on the 'My Kicks' page:
  3. We have now started supporting BF4 with a new server and as such I have added a server banner (second one down):
  4. So this is a very behind the scenes update and has taken me a very long time to work on. I began about a month back to try and get some of the custom software we use a little more organised. Primarily this is concerning the behind the scenes admin tools that we use. We have an 'admin portal' website that allows admins to ban players from the servers, a 'rcon sync' service that monitors the servers and adds player details to a database and a 'ban sync' service that synchronises ban files across the game servers. The issue that I had been having is that these three applications are so tied in to each other and if I wanted to make a small change to any of them I would have to build and deploy them all which was a headache. Now each has its own Build and Deployment pipelines fully automated. The database aspect has been pulled out and is now separate with all of the applications using a NuGet package with defined contracts to access it. I would like to move to an API based data access layer in the future though. So what does it look like? Here are the builds in VSTS and below that what the release process looks like for the Admin Portal website:
  5. Mine is pretty stock I think.. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
  6. To be honest @DEEJAYKEG I am kinda giving up with having to explain things to you multiple times - I posted on the new process in March. Perhaps you missed it and that's why you are confused~? Although nobody else really looked at it so it's not as if you're alone. The post you said there was no options to approve had probably already been approved.. that would seem the most logical explanation to me...
  7. That's great to hear!
  8. @DEEJAYKEG I just edited my post before you quoted. I guess if Minecraft appeals are accidentally put in there you will see them. As to your previous query.. it appears to be working as intended..
  9. Well you didn't say that @DEEJAYKEG or perhaps I missed it? so you're telling me you are receiving notifications from the Minecraft section as well as the other games section? Insurgency/ARMA/CW/Rising Storm etc. don't have their own section as they aren't established enough which is why they go into 'other games'... as such there isn't necessarily an admin team for them and usually existing admins can help - hence the notification. In that case could you forward me one of the emails you have received for Minecraft to [email protected] and I will see if I can trace where it came from so I can adjust the settings.
  10. That's a different thing @DEEJAYKEG - you are getting that because you are an admin and therefore are a moderator of the COD5 and OTHER GAMES appeal sections.
  11. Again, they are serving both domains through Cloudflare and appear to have enabled the "i'm under attack" feature of the service which will check incoming connections. Once the first request has gone through the images will load for a period of time. Changing the url to the cache subdomain won't affect the service.
  12. @LOCO it doesn't actually make a difference - they are serving both domains through Cloudflare...
  13. Unlike what tsw is saying.. the GameTracker issue is down to GameTracker - nothing to do with us. The actual reason is there CDN (Cloudflare) is checking requests before allowing them through.
  14. haha @JohnnyNashville - the way @FLDMARSHAL talks I think your fidget spinner is safer than the rest!
  15. A new banner has been added for Rising Storm 2 on the front page, unfortunately the game is not supported by GameTracker and there are no good free sites out there so we have had to pay a premium of $12 to a service that allows us to modify the banner. It's looking pretty good though and hopefully should allow people to see that we are running a server. It's already doing very well and getting lots of traffic so lets hope that we can keep that momentum
  16. Ah so not what I said then? Are you referring to them taking 4 minutes to show up on the homepage?
  17. To confirm what you're saying is that when you click the 'Submit Topic' or 'Submit Reply' buttons it is taking 240 seconds for the website to process the request and make the post?
  18. Generally if you have a mobile phone next to a speaker and you are sending/receiving a text of doing other network things the speaker will pick up on it. Try sending a text and having the phone right next to the sub-woofer and seeing if the noise is more distinct.I have to have my phone on the other side of the desk from my sub-woofer.
  19. We have had issues with email over the past few days because of some of the firewall changes (which hopefully should now be fixed). However during this event people were reaching out by emailing the xtremeidiots domain directly in an attempt to get my attention. Also they were using the contact form which also emails out. This was a bit of a problem because although we have these systems in place there isn't actually an email server that receives these emails so they were dead lettering. As such I have set the [email protected] email address up with Outlook Premium so we will be able to receive these support requests and respond to them.
  20. I have added a *Battlefield Moderator secondary group on the website which will allow us to add Battlefield moderators, they will be able to view and post on the Battlefield admin forums.
  21. What is Tapatalk? Tapatalk is an application to allow access to Internet forums on mobile devices, developed by Tapatalk, Inc. Tapatalk is primarily designed to provide improved forum access for mobile platforms over access provided by the forum software itself. Well that sounds like a load of twaddle.. That's because I just copied it from Wikipedia Anyway Tapatalk is now enabled on the website which means that you can use it's mobile app to access the forums and make posts etc. It's a useful app and although it's only used by a few people I hope that the effort of maintaining it will be justified by its use

  23. This update only applies to COD2/4/5, Minecraft and Insurgency admins. When you navigate to the forums index there is a block above the forums, this will display a list of topics that are either in the admin section or the appeals section for the game that you admin. Hopefully this should allow you to keep track on appeal posts.
  24. This update only applies to COD2/4/5 admins. I have added a block onto the homepage that calls on the admin portal API and retrieves the latest ten bans and displays them. You can click on the players name to go to the players profile on the admin portal. Next to the player name is the ban state - ideally any bans that display (Unclaimed) should be claimed by the banning admin.
