CplMOFO Dark, I suggested a self-contained CPU cooler for pricing considerations. Going full-fledge water-cooling might not be worth it in your situation. As you know, the CPU waterblock+pump+reservoir+radiator(s) cost a lot of cash. for the same price as a decent dedicated CPU loop, you possibly could grab a 2500K sandy bridge CPU (running cool) with a decent mobo+8GB of RAM (good RAM is SO cheap right now)... As for watercooling your 4890....no way...a GTX560TI runs cooler and is twice as powerful for $225...(instead of buying the extra stuff need to watercool the GPU on top of the CPU.... The self contained CPU loops such as the higher-end ANTEC 920, Corsair H60 and up, are good enough and come with a warranty...I think if there is physical damage caused by a leak, that warranty covers damage...don't quote me on that, but it's worth a read.... for your Thermaltake case, it looks pretty much like my Thermaltake Armor jR...good looking, but lacking in the "airflow department"....I don't use that case anymore, because a cheap ANTEC 300 (equiped with a top 140mm fan and a 120mm exhaust) + 2 x 120mm fans is cooling better... Your 4890, like mentioned by Nightmare, is a hot -running biatch....the AC cooler might be your best best for now, but it will keep blowing that hot air from the GPU onto the other components in the case.....that heat would have to be exhausted somehow... and your case temperatures will IMHO get WARM... well there is NO way I am returning to intel I just got rid of my first and only intel mid last year and built this one. the 4890 was purchased about july last year. and as far as I am concerned nvidia can suck it as I always seem to find errors while running nvidia. sorry MoFo is it seems like I am dissing your advise as I absolutely love your advise on the artic cooler but for me I just cant stand intel and nvidia. I am running a 955 black on an AM3 socket. 2 intake fans 2-3 exhaust fans depending what I'm doing. like I said earlier my cpu and mb and overall sys is running cooler now that I am able to get more air across the card. I am in agreemance with you all I dont really wanna run liquid but I didnt know what else would tame those card temps. And just to put a nail in the fack I Love my system just ask dawgy if he would want to change anything about his system other than the amount of ram. I built 4 of these systems I am running now all with almost the same parts through and through. one for me one for lady one for rumncoke and one for dawgy. mine and ladys got a 4890 dawgy only got onboard and rumncoke got a gt220. again the later 2 want better cards dawgy got 8 gigs ram instead of 4 now I think. other than that these systems are really stable and good. the cpu stays cool everything is great other than the high vc temps. and wizid your running 2 2gb 4890 shit whats YOUR secret for not roasting marshmallows over your cards those gotta be smoking lol thanks for all your help I think i am gonna order the artic cooler as from the reviews it gets those numbers way down into check

Pete did ya read my long ass book up there ya idiot no the video card pan is not working, I have a 80 mm case fan piggybacked on the broken fan and my temps are better than stock but still high. my other temps are due to very high vc temps being emitted into the case. once i can suffenciently cool the card the other temps will level down. they have already dropped 5-10degrees f. so if I can get the one down then I will be fine I was going liquid bc I didnt think anyone made an air cooler that would tame the 4890. but the reviews on the tein turbo pro seem like that is my ticket ahhhhh this sour diesel is so energetic

the self contained systems are for the most part junk. leaky and hard to replace faulty pumps. but thanks for the input, I do like the card unit though the case is a thermaltake aguila http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/Product.aspx?C=1312&ID=1439#Tab0 and these high temps are only for the current session

hey yall well I had just finished watching Spliffer's "My Dog" video and just as soon as it ended all my screens went black. shit its happened before just "hard power off" (shivers) reboot and should be fine. did that, funky 4 core bios activation message, fixed that, restart get to startup blank screens, hard reboot (shit) gets to screen black. finally get to safemode option and start in safemode, as I am now flabbergasted at what the hell the problem could be. black screens. wth. so I finally get it bootin properly and starts up and corrupted MSE shit. so i pull up hardware monitor and it shows my newer 4890 at 95c what the hell, so I start checkin things turning all fans on. wtf. took less than a minute to check and I look up and its at 106c holy hell get this son of a bitch shut down before it starts frying bacon. took computer to garage and blew the dust out. pulled the card put fresh new paste on vc cpu and heat sink. put it back together and hooked it up this time I put my hand under the card to see of fan was spinning. nope I gave it a twirl and she tried to go but didnt. shut the comp back down and got on Lady's comp and put a ticket in with XFX. got to thinking shit I cant use her comp for the next week, I gotta redneck engineer something. I took the 80 mm loud ass fan off the side of my case, (I only run that one when really desperate) and zip tied it over the non working fan thats built into the heatsink, and turned her on. and wow this card has never been so cool( its a hot running badboy) its at 62c which is still way to high for me at idle. so I need some advise on a liquid setup for my cpu and video card. nothing cheap and easily broken, but I also dont have piles of cash laying around. Thanks for your help. BTW this all happened bc last night or yesterday I advised someone to get an XFX card because I have never had any trouble with it. this is a problem but minor, as my redneck ingenuity made it cooler and better than it was factory. at least its running for the time being. on and the picture seems fine and all seems well right now. we will see after a few hours on the zombie server. that always gets the temps going. and what is a good temp monitoring program with stand alone gauges.

when deciding between an alumn. hull and a fiberglass hull talk to people around the lakes you will be getting the most use out of. up in wi the lake we spent 90% of our time on had lots of stumps that were easy to hit. we wouldnt use our bayliner in there, we would have to use our alumn. sea star. just a heads up

well I personally would rather have an inboard motor. much easier to fix when its broken.if you have any mechanical skills inboard would probably be best as the cost to fix is much less expensive
