I work on it to get my ping down a few points, and cap my framerate a little lower to about 110. I used to have it at 125. But for the last couple of weeks or a little longer, everytime I get on the FT Beta, my fps has raised back up to 125, and my ping has raised up about 20 points. I DO NOT click yes in any of the boxes that pop up wanting to change my settings for me. And this is something that has just started happening recently. And to top it off, now the last couple of days, when I go in to play, I am dead and my bubble is raising up about the same time I start seeing bullets leaving my enemy's weapon. My ping is anywhere 80 to 115, usually stable about 95. I have made ZERO hardware changes, nothing is running in the background that hasn't always been running. Maybe the MW2 server has similair setting forcing your game to sync those settings with the server? I was playing a minute ago, and I started lagging real bad, looked and my ping had raised to 150 160 inside the game, so I quickly ALT/Tab out to my desktop and refrash my xfire, and it's pinging the server at about 85ms, while the inside the game it's still nearly double that. i had went to the old mod server and got cfg right again, and had lowered my ping nearly 20ms before I went back to the beta server and this all happened. When I change my maxpackets from 30 to 60 it really helps on the old chicago server (went from 70ms - 80ms down to 50ms-60ms), but it didn't seem to help on the new york server.
