I love jerky and dried fruit. I am in the market for a good but not expensive dryer to make myself all kinds of ndried fruit and jerky. What I want from you who have experience with this is what unit would you recommend and why. remember my limit is about $200.00 and also throw in some jerky recipes please! Preferably homemade!

Look for one that allows you to control the temp.  Some fruits keep there vitamins better if done at the right temp.  I did jerky with a simple teriyaki marinade.  Recipe I got off food network website I think.  just about any would work.  Just go for meat that has very little if no fat in it.  the fat will make it go bad faster.  Slow and low just like smoking meat.  My .02
