Its a simple registry edit in Windows, and CAN help gain FPS in CPU intensive games like Battlefield 3 for example (or Planetside 2 as another one). So this is the website of the guy that made a small programm, to take care of the reg edits. I have used it myself and checked it several antiviruses, its clean. He also released the source, so anyone with the right know-how can check for semselfes. The original website of this tool: http://www.coderbag.com/Programming-C/Disable-CPU-Core-Parking-Utility or a mirror on my dropbox:source: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1641931/Disable%20CPU%20Core%20Parking%20Utility-Dateien/Unpark-CPU-Project.zipprogram: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1641931/Disable%20CPU%20Core%20Parking%20Utility-Dateien/Unpark-CPU-App.zip have fun and maybe it will increase your FPS. -TheDoctor Unpark-CPU-App.zip Unpark-CPU-Project.zip STARTJIMX 1

Graphics are rendered by your GPU not your CPU. Even further still... the program only has a few threads anyway. You can't split a single thread to multiple cores. Why would I need all 6 cores running and generating massive amounts of heat and taxing my power supply if I only have 3 threads running?

(physics can be "outsources" to some degree if u are using a dedicated "nvidia physics card/chip") frostbyte 2 engine is a really CPU demanding engine. try underclocking your CPU and see what happens to those precious FPS in BF3 Edited August 12, 2013 by DrBartFratze

If you have your cpu setup correctly in your BIOS, frequency scaling of those first few cores (which are running your game) will increase your performance... but I would think if you are forcing jobs to your cores to keep them from idling then you stop that from happening and slow down those threads.
