Most of you are probably wondering who Jim Lange is. Here in the states he hosted a very popular game show called The Dating Game which started in 1965.

 

The reason I make mention of his passing is because he was my wife's godfather and good family friend. My late father in law was best friends with Jim and they went to high school together. We didn't get to see him often but always received a Christmas card from he and Nancy, and an occasional call on birthdays. He was a sweetheart of a man to those of us who knew him and he will be missed.

I remember him we got that show up here in Canada. He was a very funny man as well. RIP

Condolences on your family's loss.  This is obviously more than the announcement of a celebrity's passing.

 

Having read the article, it seems his show was possibly the original one that has spawned lesser imitations

through the decades that endure to this day?

 

Looking back to that era, originality didn't seem to be the problem that it is today...
