Gold has a trust problem. Nobody knows exactly how much gold the US, China or any other government actually holds. Additionally, there is a verification problem. Counterfeit gold is widespread. Would you take gold from someone you didn't know in trade for goods and services? 
 

Bitcoin fixes both of these problems. In the short term gold will definitely be better than holding US Treasury Bonds..but in the long run, Bitcoin will demonetize gold.

Biden bond yield blowout in full swing. With the breakdown of the Japanese Yen, this creates a double whammy for Japan. As the Yen starts to break...they need to sell some of their $1T of US Treasury Bonds to raise dollars to defend the Yen. This selling of US Treasuries put further pressure on the value of their holdings ..but US yields are also currently climbing due to a lack of confidence in the leadership of the US Government. Things could cascade out of control rather quickly. Got Bitcoin?
