  1. First, thanks Sun for the continued work in sorting out the server, I know it's a pain in the ass. Couple of observations: first, it's impossible to NOT spawnkill in this game the way they have set the dynamic spawning system. I don't know of anyone who bitches because they are occassionaly spawnkilled. I know if you run a circuit around a map in free for all, for instance, you can catch someone spawning right in front of you 2 or 3 times. The problem is when a person sets up on a known spawnpoint and camps it for an extended time period. If you are not doing that, in my opinion, you're not doing anything wrong. Second, the "hacker" moniker gets thrown around in TS alot. Most of the time it's good natured ball-busting, but maybe some people aren't taking it as such. last, it's very difficult to really "see" someone hacking. I've played almost 400 hours and I've only seen 1 definite hacker in our servers and that was last night. I've seen some fishy play, but nothing that could conclusively be seen as a hack. IMHO, if you are going to seriously accuse someone of hacking, you'd better have some damn solid evidence to back it up. People are always going to bitch on TS, hell, I do it too, when they are getting smacked around by someone in game. I don't have a problem with it, it's part of the game. I don't take it personally when people bitch about my style of play, but if you do, maybe people should just tell the other TS members to lay off for awhile. I haven't heard anyone intentionally trying to piss anyone off in TS when I've been on. My poorly thought out 2 cents.
  2. *sniff* It's like seeing a little one take his fist steps. Awwww. He's wearing big boy pants. >>So proud<<
  3. Yeah, the new version of Microsoft security essentials is good, but you still will want to run programs like cclearner and a spyware program like Spybot. If you want a heavy duty program that covers pretty much everything including cleaning your comp, you can't beat Webroot Security Essentials.
  4. Nightmare! Sweeeet man, it looks great. I love it. Thanks for doing that for me!
  5. Would any of you actually talented people be willing to create a sig for me? Probably the only thing i'm known for in game is pissing people off with my last stand. A lot. But I'm not picky. As long as it's cooler than mofo's. lol
  6. T-mouse, I just got: Corsair Force 60GB SSD ASUS P8P67 Pro DDR3 Mobo Intel Core i5 2500k quad core Ripjaws X F3 8GB DDR3 RAM all for around $700. The difference between the i5 and i7 I don't think warrants the extra cost, unless you have the money to throw around. I'd take the i5 and use the money for something else. Whether you get a 2500 or 2500 series, make sure you get the "K" model. It's the only model that allows overclocking. Since the i5 uses dual channel memory, you only have to buy two modules. The i7 is triple channel which means you have to buy memory in groups of 3. Again, more money. Right now my rig is running steady at 4.3 Ghz.
  7. Yeah, windows 7 64-bit. I used one of my western digital 500 GB for storage with a 1.5 TB external for back up. The 60 GB SSD is a bit small, but it will do for now. I'll upgrade that next year. At some point I'll upgrade the GTX 275 graphics card and possibly a new internal HDD for storage. My only problem is my external HDD keeps dropping out and the comp can't find it.
  8. Turkey, if it hadn't been for that Dell crap, I'm guessing 2 hours or so; it was my first rebuild, so I was moving slow. Then just reloading everything from my backup drive. Should have been an easy night.
  9. Well, all up and running. Thanks to my wingman mofo for a lot of assistance...hours and hours of assistance. Oh, and Dell; a hearty FU. Halfway into the rebuild, with the insides of my PC spread all over my office, Dell bit me in the ass. Parts of the case/components appear to be proprietary just for Dell. So, after multiple attempts at some workarounds, and 2 trips to CompUSA in between coaching rugby games, I added a Coolermaster 690 V.2 case and a new 850W power supply. Running smooth at 4.33 Ghz. total rebuild time, about 13 hrs.
  10. I'm sure it's a beast Beers. Thought about the 2600k originally, but looking at price vs performance gained I felt the 2500 would do everything I needed. Parts are arriving tomorrow, then we'll see how big of a disaster I can create by putting it all together.
  11. Lol. thanks noddy, but that was the first thing I tried. For some reason it's not refreshing the server list. Guessing it's something on my end. By the way, I set up an >XI< Homefront steam group if you add me on steam I can put anyone into it. Or I think you can add yourself
  12. I have the game, but am having trouble playing. Every server I choose in the server browser is empty, regardless of how many people it shows are on the server in the browser window. Anyone else having this problem?
  13. From what I saw tonight, the game is already dying.
  14. Not toooo bad. $715 total. NCIXus had some items bundled together in sales and Newegg had the SSD at a pretty good price.
  15. Took the plunge and ordered the parts to upgrade the old workhorse. When everything arrives, I'll be running: Corsair Force 60GB SSD ASUS P8P67 Pro DDR3 Mobo Intel Core i5 2500k quad core Ripjaws X F3 8GB DDR3 RAM 2 x 500 GB HD (my current HD's) for storage still running my GTX 275 GFX card for now
  16. For any and all Homefront players, I set up a steam group >XI< Homefront, as I did not see one already created. Join if you want to, it will also put an XI tag in your ingame name. Or send me your name/add me as a friend on steam and I'll add you.
  17. MP isn't bad. A lot of clutter on the maps makes it a bit hard to pick out opfor if they are not moving. Right now sniper class can dominate maps, but Kaos says they are nerfing the sniper rifles in the upcoming patch. Hit registration feels better than BO or BFBC2, you hit what you aim at. They say there is no hardcore mode in the game, but their "softcore" mode is 1-2 hits and you're dead, so it doesn't feel any different than BO hardcore. The ingame Battle Points has potential, but it's a little clunky managing all the information and you can easily forget your options in the middle of a firefight. Some of your weapons and equipment (like flack jacket, RPG) have to be purchased with battle points each time you spawn, so you have to do some prioritizing with your points. Each time you die it takes you to a spawn screen, where you can select to spawn, or it auto spawns you in a set period of time. While you are on that screen however, you can adjust your classes while waiting. Maps are good size and there are lots of spots to fight from and it will take awhile to find them all, so I don't think the maps will get old too soon. I've only played TDM so far, and I die alot. I mean really, ALOT. But then I always die alot so there's no difference from any other FPS in that regard. Anyway, my take is that it's a decent game with potential to improve if they continue to support it.
  18. as soon as the p8p67 deluxe board is back in stock i'll be running a similar set up
  19. Yep. I picked it up today. Not sure if it was a good buy yet or not. Reviews have been all over the map. Seems to be problems with getting on servers, usual opening type of stuff. Won't get a chance to install it until tomorrow probably so i'll check back in once i've had a chance to play.
  20. Sorry to hear about this TS, best wishes to ya and I hope things take a turn for the better.
  21. yup. i've been trying to like this game and i just can't do it. treyarch and activision can keep their next game, they won't be getting any more money from me.
  22. No doubt labob, but those days are over for PC players, at least at Activision, and most other studios. No word on any specifics, these guys have taken to tweeting little bits of info to tease customers and releasing detailed info at the last moment. At this point, any little headway is good news. Activision released a day or two ago a press release stating that they were creating another studio, "Beachhead" to exclusively handle DLC. Speculation is that "premiere" content is on the way and will not be free.
  23. Well, looks like mod tools for block ops is a comin' Writes PCDEV "In progress for PC: Patch 1.061 (now in QA), Patch 1.07 (major patch), Mod Tools package 1.0 #codblackops #pc #busy 7 minutes ago via web" At their pace, looks like spring/summer.
  24. yeah, bushape. I usually give it three crashes then i move on for awhile. Sigh, of course i'll probably buy the maps, and hate myself as i do it. :dies a little inside:
